Hi, good question. I don't think it adds any additional risk to the fact that there is already a battery inside the keyboard. In fact, it is an extra layer of insulation that protects the PCB in case of a leak.
@@jpbulbulian Gotcha, I was planning on buying and modifying my own GMK67 and was gonna use tape mod. The battery has me hesitant. Do you know if it’s possible to take out the battery though? I’ll feel extra safe if I can.

Yes, you can take it out and use the keyboard wired.
