I was recently the city clerk in my village. I quit because of this same problem. The chairman appointed his wife to the board and the 3 other trustees are a mother, daughter, and the daughter’s husband who were all appointed. I have written the AG, talked to local prosecutor, and the sheriffs office and they all have blown me off. I am running again and will continue to until I am able to help the people of my community. I watched the chairman(who is my neighbor) use the city tractor to build a driveway in his yard, then break the tractor, and then have the city pay for the repairs. This is unpatriotic, disgusting, and a total violation of the oath we take as public officials. They are so unintelligent that they are signing their own documents as a notary and not showing up to court to prosecute people of the supposed “ordinance violations”. We have a village of 150 population and more than half are being bullied by these tyrants. This is also happening in numerous town around us but the big wigs don’t give a damn about us. I am working my hardest to help my community and as a veteran who took an oath to this nation I will not quit until I succeed in removing these people and restore stability to my communty.
