I think the Khamisin is my favorite of those fabulous Gandhini-Bertone wedge designs. And what better place to enjoy it than the south Island of New Zealand, with all the winding mountain roads and (at least on the west coast) no traffic.
This one was beauty and the beast in one body! It gave you a hard kick i the back if you put the hammer down! A friend of my dad did very shady business, so he always had expensive toys. When I enlisted in the navy i bought my first sports car, an Alfa Romeo. When I was home for a prolonged weekend, this friend and his lover visited us. HE drove the Khamsin, SHE drove the Quattroporte. When he saw my shining eyes he asked me if I wanted to sit in it. Of course I said yes and he put me into the driver´s seat. He took the passenger seat and gave me the keys, told me to start the beauty. It was nearly an orgasm to hear the engine roar!! Then he told me to put it in gear and drive a bit. Gave me a few directions until we reached the highway. I tried to drive as careful as I could. Then he told me to take the fast lane. I carefully swerved over and slowly sped up a little. He smiled broadly, reached over and pressed my foot down! Suddenly the beast awoke and kicked my behind. When we came back home, I asked him if he didn´t fear for the car, due to the fact that it was my first experience with such a rocket on wheels. He smiled mildly and said:" Who cares, it´s just a car!" That´s now more than 40 years ago, but I will never forget that experience!
One of the most beautiful design ever. Love love love the Kamshin. Scenery looks very much like Southern California! Thanks for posting. Was a delight to watch!
