I'm honestly a bit surprised that haywire dragoon wasn't mentioned for buccaneer. It's not the best but it gets good epics, can pull off some solid chains, and has some decent utility in its powers. Worth at least attempting to pull.
My favorite companions 1. Wing Chun: true, his abrasive personality leaves a LOT to be desired, but he has no ill intentions, and I gotta give props to the voice acting here, Like this name, I love his fighting style is based on the wing chun martial arts. 2. Emmett: This otter sounds quite hammy with his dialogue, and I *LUV* it. 3. Mormo: Dunno why, but he's one of my favorite witchdoctor companions 4. Fan Flanders: Since the 2014 update, she's quite a fan favorite, Her criticals hits and going "A-hahaaaaaa!" when defeating an enemy are perfect. 5. Carcarius Grimtooth: He's definitely the white sheep of the shark ougans and gray cutthroats, and to establish how terrifying they are, when Carcarius' attacks fizzles, the opponents does a victory animation, and the super hit has them act scared. 6. Peter Quint: For those who liked having a pelican companion, Peter's for you. His Mega Hit is the best. 7. Gaspard De Vole: I feel like it's fitting for the story if your pirate was orphaned due to the armada. And having a Guinea Pig as a companion (who's species is getting victimzed by the armada) makes them feel like a rebel.
Also I heard a rumor don’t know if it’s true but I heard if you don’t pick up that side companion out of your class like Flanders or chantel and wait till your maxed they will be over leveled don’t know if it’s true just what I heard I never tried it
Peter Quint is the fucking GOAT from a previous account of mine! I’m playing as a Bucc now and I haven’t added him to my crew until I get to Mooshu because he will be clutch in those fights.

Two things I am curious about: In the document, there isn't a build for "Mighty Arm", the bison musketeer you get after helping the bison tribe in Cool Ranch. Is the denotation in the crown shop section for him & the name is just randomly selected upon getting him, or is there no build for him yet? Also, if you don't want to spend money in the crown shop, what would be another pick for Buccaneer at max level?
As a Musk do we really have to use old scratch dont get me wrong ik the damage an stuff is there but that play style just seem way boring an i think i start to hate playing my main which is Musk?

I think I'm going to do a run following these rules: Once reaching Cool Ranch, can't ever use starter companion, tavern companion, teacher companion, Magnificent 7 companion, Bonnie Anne, Old Scratch, Ratbeard, or El Toro. Presidio companion is allowed. Hopefully will be a fun challenge
im getting back into pirate 101 because of childhood memories, and ive always been a buccaneer/musketeer dude. im tryna learn whats the best f2p companions, cause I cant buy crown shop units. just some solid picks if you can help me out

Old pvp mount you can’t get anymore but you can get them from the mystery mount bundle when that comes out in the shop occasionally. Black Annie came out in 2019 with blightbeard
Regardless of what you think of Wing Chun, He's a little hard on the Pirate, no doubt - he's based off of very specific archetype that you see in Martial Arts stories: the grumpy/scolding master. He's abrupt, he's blunt, he's quick to criticize, and he really likes to yell. Especially at the beginning, he can come off as a little harsh. In time, I think he mellows a little. Just a little. You'll start to hear things like "Very good. Breaking this is truly something you do well." and such. I hoped to put Wing's attitude SO far over the top that it would be funny. Take heart - he's very abrasive on the surface, but he trusts and cares for the Pirate deep down,

Instead of Toro for Buccaneer I've recently switched to using Yule Trogg as he is another mini Peter Quint

I play swashbuckler and ratbeard is honestly a good pick, i haven't taken him off since i got him and he still holds up through cool ranch
