After 20 years of playing both versions of this game, I've come to realize I do enjoy the combat. A chat member says in this video, "It would be better turn-based." but honestly, I think the real-time strategy you have to do in KN is a core component to the franchise to some degree, and the card/number-based combat was a really fun challenge once I understood how it worked. The learning curve is steep, yes, but I found it really satisfying in the end! Glad you didn't let it deter you from having a fun time! Excited for more episodes
I 100% agree now that I've played through it and took the time to figure out the game, I'm glad it is the way that it is & it really is super satisfying!
god i remember playing this as an og release on the GBA! you can't imagine how insane it was at the time that the key game linking kingdom hearts 1 and 2 came out on the GAME BOY!! and it was amazing!! look up a lets play of the og game!
@@lunitygaming my teen brain couldn’t handle the level of awesomeness that was an entire kingdom hearts game on the go. And this MATTERERS! There is stuff in this game they will reference for the rest of the series! It’s insane I love it!!
Don't know if she reads these but I got several things to say to make this easier, 1 you don't have to use one card at a time you can do a combo without stacking, 2 if the enemy has a long animation for an attack use a bigger number and it cancels their attack, 3 the mickey cards tend to do environment effect to make fights easier
hi yes, as someone commented, I do read these! this playthrough was done back in August so we're very far ahead on the livestream since editing takes some time for me to get around to, but appreciate your helpfulness - I figure it out eventually :')
@@Smithsta02 I don't think I really grasped the strategy and gameplay fully until the 4th stream, so it took me awhile as well. It is funny looking back at my first few moments learning the game after understanding how it works because it seems so simple once you know, but man learning it is a LOT!
@ it is a lot. I couldn’t find good strategies until I watched Kingdom Hearts Timeline on UA-cam. The way that played was more for cinematic purposes but for some reason it helped figure out the game
Ya know you really need to figure out those cards when in battle. Also perhaps you should've started with Wonderland first when you got those world cards after beating Axel.
@lunitygaming I know you just started the game and I'm chill, don't worry, I just find funny to fight using one card at a time xD I like that you're taking your time to learn the rules
@@lunitygaming as you said, it's like learning a new boardgame, but this time you're alone, there's no one to give you hints CoM is a boardgame in an extension, and that's something I love about it
Sadly true. It's can be either a painful system to claw through, or a system that nerfs the game with ho easily it can be abused with spamming the right sleights
Axel is an original character from Kingdom Hearts. And he's one of the most popular characters of the franchise.
we love axel ❤️
Names Axel got it memorized.

I like the voice acting you do when reading the character's lines lol. You will get the hang of the game
haha glad you like it! 😊

I loved the art style of the og, I wish I could have played it back when it first released!

She does read these but she also played these games a long while ago on stream so the playthrough is already done.

I believe the “RE” actually stands for Remake.
No way Axel is a final fantasy character, he's way too cool for that XD
Got it memorized
Me: Always
You can attack a little faster. I noticed when you just go for a normal attack you just go for a singular swing
I was still learning at this point and wasn't aware I could do quicker attacks - we figure it out eventually!
@ fair enough. Tbh I can’t say I’m any better, it took me 3 playthroughs to finally beat the game because I couldn’t figure out the card system

Axel is a beast
*“Come Guard”*
If I’m being honest, you’re way better off just watching the cutscenes
Playing the game with no combos is wild lol
I just started the game bro chill y'all so insufferable over me just starting out and learning the game

ah i'm sorry dude, appreciate you understanding. just a lil on edge over the folks frustrated over me still learning the game at this point :')

sooo cute games
Though Axel is an original character, there is some inspiration of his design taken from the character, Reno, from Final Fantasy VII
definitely felt that Reno inspo!
My husband is here
18:31"precious child"? For what? His expectations on this situation is the only realistic part of that story/movie
This game is actually pretty boring when strategic players figure out the gameplay. Spamming Blizzaga and Megaflare for instance.
And Lethal Frame

@ Yeah and it's unfortunate that the 4th difficulty setting was cut.
Why do you spam those? Spice things up
@@LucasSantana-ws8po cause some people already spiced it up by using not optimal/effiicient strategies
I hope she cuts the world's story moments from now on. Really only interested in the main fights, level-ups, and bosses.
Why don't you just skip forward Stop being lazy.
