Me too! Other countries might think we're indoctrinated, but I just feel sorry for them, lol. I love my country and am soooo blessed to have been born here!
It’s actually happened multiple times at NHL games in Canada! At least 3 times I know of, one which was only about a month ago. Those videos are definitely worth a watch as well 🙂
At all the sporting events I’ve attended over the years, everyone stands up, removes their hat if they’re wearing one and probably about half sing along. It’s pretty awesome.
A while back a Hockey team from the US was in Canada to play a hockey game. When the lady came out to sing our National Anthem before the start of the game her microphone stopped working after just a few words and one of the coolest things I have ever seen happened. The crowd full of Canadians all started to sing it for her
The US National Anthem is about a brutal bombardment by the Royal Navy on Ft McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland in 1814. And how the flag survived as the Americans were victorious over the British. Glad we don’t fight each other anymore! 😁
@@chriswhite4999 Oh, that is unfortunate if they reacted to "The National Anthem as You’ve Never Heard It”. It is apocryphal, and many UA-cam reactors have been fooled by it.
That was the best! Love our neighbors to the north. How many countries could pull of singing our national anthem? Only them, I'd say. I've watched that video many times. :)
The US national anthem can be performed controversially. Many artists tend to their spin on it and sometimes it comes out less than reverent. I prefer it simple and straight forward. It is not the easiest to sing as it covers a rather large range.
The song was written about the American flag. I think it's just wrong when people try to make it about their singing (or attempts at) rather than the song as it was written. There are countless other songs they can ruin - just leave the National Anthem alone.
We would have stood, but not everyone would have sung - out of respect for the singer's performance. But if something goes wrong, such as a mic fail, everyone will sing, usually.
I'm really glad I found your channel. It's really interesting to hear how people from other countries see us and what the differences are between the US and the UK. I've watched a handful of your videos so far and I've learned a lot. The US is a very diverse country. Not even just as a country but State by State. Keep up the good work!
It is a regular arena; the pool was brought in for the US Olympic team swim trials. After the trials were done the pool was moved out. It is in Omaha, Nebraska.
That was because Rene (the singer) was having trouble not sobbing, though, so he just guided the crowd. It was the day after the Boston Marathon bombings and the first sports event since that lockdown taking place in Boston's arena. Still amazing to watch.
This happened at the US Olympic swim trials, held in Omaha, Nebraska (where I live). And yes, it's not normally a swimming pool. They converted a standard arena and built a pool temporarily just for the swim trials.
Looks like there was technical issues with the singer and the audience helped out. I have seen this happen on occasion. At a baseball game the microphone cut out and everyone sang and I cried. It's a hard song to sing for average person. Most people prefer American the Beautiful. Often times both are sung. Believe it not these facilities are designated. Not very often are they doubling for something else. Especially swimming pools.
I don’t know of any swimming pools turned into the basketball courts. But there are ice-skating rinks turned at the basketball courts. Incidentally, I went swimming in a pool and the 35th floor of a building. I couldn’t believe how deep it was.🤣😂🤣😂 “ Stephen Wright “
That was beautiful. People always swear that they can't sing (mostly embarrassment, and i don't know why) but when a situation like this arises, it is always so beautiful. So, are there films of Aidan the swimmer? If so, why not do a reaction to those. I expect your audience would find that fun. Peace
That's what separates us from other country's. At this point in time we may be the most dysfunctional lot the world has ever seen but don't mess with us. Looking at you KGB boy.
Is swimming big in America? I'd say everyone here knows the name Michael Phelps, and there are so many other amazing swimmers. Katie Ledecky, Ryan Lochte, Simone Manuel, and those are just my generation. I've heard a lot about Mark Spitz being an inspiration to swimmers. It's huge in many parts of the US. We love anything competitive, although, I wish we were more into rugby and a few other missed opportunities. 😉
Hockey ice always has to go on the bottom because the ice is made by circulating extremely cold fluid in pipes through a concrete slab. For basketball games the wood panels are just fitted over the ice and the surrounding glass and boards are removed. Nothing can really go over it because the concrete slab can't be in pieces and has to be present and accessible.
