Hey, found you looking at the HF Mini Mill upgrade. Liked those 2-videos and this one is great also. Look forward to viewing the rest as needed. You do great work, thanks and keep it up!
Thanks William.
current mechanical engineer with lots a machine shop experience and I like your simple to use system.
Hope you show more neat gadgets for machining.
+Louis DiFrancesco Thanks Louis. I appreciate the complement.
How goes it Bill? Long time no type to. Your Joe 4x4 came out quite well. I still plan on building a 4x4 or a 4x8. Taker easy
Thanks Joe. You should see it now. All aluminum parts. I think you would like it.
@@BillGriggs Dang - do you have pictures posted over on Joe's site? I bought his plans and have access
@@joecnc3341 Yep. Look up The Warp Drive Project.
@@BillGriggs I'll go look - but could you please send me a link to the URL?

Bill-
Great video and fantastic podcast. You really do a great job in making CNC accessible to everyone. I have a question regarding your triple edge finder and VCarve Pro 8 and a couple of VCarve questions in general. First, is there integration in VCarve Pro 8 for your triple edge finder or touch plates in general? If so, how is it done. If not, is it then necessary to use an intermediary program like Mach3, 4 or chili pepper? Also, is it necessary to invest in Mach3 or 4 as a program in between VCarve and my Xcarve? If not technically necessary, does it provide additional capability?
Best Regards,
Brendan
So this is just a standard touch probe. What about the triple aspect of this where you use the same block to set X and Y as well?
There are other videos on my channel that show this. You can find the edge using the center hole, You can also flip it over to find inside corners. Flip it upside down to find Z in the middle of a piece. Stand it on the edge to find the side, etc, etc.
If possible could you update your video to a demonstration of the triple edge finder with the smart screen set, Since the tex screen set is no longer available.
Perhaps this will help.

Hi Bill,
I got one of these plates from you a couple of weeks ago and I have a couple of questions for you.
My machine is a Chinese 6040 and it came with a touch plate that connects on the back of the controller box with a small banana type plug, I have used it a couple of times and it did work on most times, I had the bit smashed against the solid plate, a couple of times, snapping or damaging the bit tip.
With this new triple edge finder, I'm unsure how to connect it, I know that I have to have 2 wires coming from different locations, one should be the earth, right.
The cable that is on the original touch plate, only has 1 wire and the clip that attaches to the bit, all come from the same place in the touch plate, both at attached to the main bolt that holds the plate so, I'm confuse.
Can I use the one that connects to the controller box as the "positive" and attach the other wire on a earth point in the controller box...???
Cheers
George
+nyodine Send me an email with pictures of your setup. It sounds like they are using a stereo plug which would have a ground and a power portion. The principal is the same one pin is ground and one is an input pin Usually 5V.
Will this work with a hand held controller or do you need mach3?
I love the Xbox Controller CNC pendant! Any info on how you set that up? I'm using Torchmate not Mach3 but I'm sure I could make it work. How about a video on it's features?
I just did a podcast episode about this at cncroutertips.com/podcast
This looks great for the Z axis but I don't see how to use it for an edge finder. Is there another video?
Yes there are several.

You can find X, Y and Z. Inside corners, Outside corners, spoil board and vertical and horizontal edges.. .

I liked the video and the copyright at the end made me laugh... Either that was a joke, or you don't understand the internet very well.
Thanks Bill
How TF did a hundred and eleven thousand people watch this video and only less than 300 of them gave you a like? WTF is this world coming to?
Thanks for the in depth demonstration. Much appreciated ;-)
nice tutorial Bill
Thank you for usefull info!
There are several Screensets which have the features built in. My current favorite is Smartscreens. ua-cam.com/video/FUlXikOPHbw/v-deo.html
Woodworkers will love this. It is one of the smartest ideas I have seen on UA-cam. I was thinking of a similar design in my mind before I came across your video. Well done Bill.
I really like the Woodglut plans.
Hi Bill
I have emailed you 3 time now asking for some assistance on getting the edge finder to work and have not seen a response from you yet. I also submitted a request for help on your website which was deleted and not answered as well. Please contact me for assistance.
Thanks,
Paul
Paul, there is a phone number listed on the site. Give me a call and we will get you straightened out.
