Amazing kit, Andres is just brilliant! It is mind-blowing what one can do today with simple foam board. Would be great to see a Video of the design process, how to make choices in 3D that can later be cut out of foam. You guys rock!

I built and flew mine earlier this week. Scratch build style. The motor I had on hand was a little underpowered but it flew amazing. Thanks so much for the plans.

Andres is THE FUTURE!! Man, he designs the coolest planes (I wanna see a Hughes H-1 designed by Andres next!) and is so natural on camera, and clearly has fun with it. It really comes across and makes it so fun to watch. I guess I'm building an Edge 540 now.

Hey guys, great job!!!! I love that plane. If I'm not mistaken that 3D design was done in Fusion 360 judging by the screen @1:44, could you please comment on how do you export the faces from Fusion 360 to a 2d CAD. Thank you guys for the great work you're doing.

I'm working on an airplane design on fusion 360 and I wanted to see how you export the airplane faces and turn them into a 2d plan. Did you use a plug in on fusion 360 to unfold the airplane or did you save each face individualy as a dxf file and snap all the faces together in a different software. Or used sheet metal workspace but that would be really hard. Thanks!

Awesome guys! I was looking to build a 3d plane about a month ago, and of course the first place I looked into was flitetest. The FT3D seems like a great aerobatic plane, but it's just a little behind the times as far as modern 3D birds go. This is basically exactly what I was hoping to find, and it's awesome to see you guys put something like this together. To anyone out there planning on building one of these, keep in mind that your standard cheapo 9g servos that we all know and love are going to have no chance against the forces required to actually fly 3d or especially XA on a plane like this. You're going to want at minimum a metal gear servo, but I would run a digital metal gear servo that's capable at running at 6v for added speed and torque. 3d flying is amazing and doesn't have nearly the following that it should. Search for "Jase Dussia" to see what a true master can do.

Since there is already a 3D file I'd like to see this turned in to a 3D printable model. I know 3D Lab Print has the Zivko EDGE but that one is more aggressive (smaller wings, faster, etc) than this one. Have you guys tried printing a whole plane yet? I'd like to follow your experience.

I've tried to reverse engineer the plans as close to the design as I could.. Also included RF7 compatible and tested (but tuned by an amateur) model.
Hopefully, the folks over at FT can reach a wider audience who'd be interested in using this model..
LOVE how Anders likes to favor fatter Fuses... Really gives a "non Foam Core Board" presence to his designs.
