Slammin! One of my favorite Rainbow tunes. Now I know the correct way to play it. Learned the groove hes got going during the keyboard break where hes bashing away on the china.
This is crazy, I can't believe how much more you can hear with the other instruments stripped out. They really did Cozy wrong when they mixed down this track!
Man you can hear how he influenced Vinnie Appice, Jackson Spires. He's not much older than those guys but you can hear similarity in the styles at least. They sure sound like drums. It's crazy how kick drums ended up sounding. You know what's really amazing is how J.H.B. didn't even port his front kick head which gave it that unbelievable sound but what's amazing is like listening to some of the production work on his kit. Sometimes when you're listening and like in your mind's ear if you will it's so much bigger maybe because of his style and all end of the sound at times but when you listen to Good times bad times isolated it's like what the f***? I don't know if that's just the way the isolated tracks coming out because other things are in the frequency or what I'm probably showing my lack of knowledge here but some drum tracks from that era sounds so weird it's like how would they even think that in listening to the tracks independent of the other instruments I don't know how they thought that would sit in the mix even halfway nice but then you hear the whole thing and it's like damn. Weird
Saw “Thunderfoot” Spires with Blackfoot in Oct. of ‘81 with Def Leopard (Rick Allen with 2 arms) backing up. Then the Mob Rules tour in Dec. of ‘81 with Appice. All heavy hitters a la Cozy Powell.via JHB. Got to see Powell on the Slide It In tour with Whitesnake in ‘84. Great.
Fantastic to hear this, I'm a big cozy fan!
Almost 2 metres tall!

Great.
this has a ton of artifacts from effect used to isolate the drums. its not a good example of any drums sound...
This is Cozy why are you rambling on about other people. And the sound here is total sh1t.
Wow. I love these isolated tracks!! Great drumming.
great, thanks Osvaldo

@@morbidmanmusic Moises works pretty good.
Keep the keyboard in the introduction
I would be happy if there were only drums instead of drums. lol
