YI L that’s actually pretty smart but the only thing is some people are Chinese but they live in other countries and Huawei phones are cheaper in China(what my friend did) so they get them there but they live in another country so they will bring them back to where they live meaning that they have to use oak os even though they were supposed to have android.

I did not expect my comment to spark so much discussion, so i would like to clarify a few things.
1) I have never said that ALL google services are crappy, as you can see in my original comment which i did not edit, i said "all the crappy google services" not "all google services are crappy".
2) Most if not all android phones come with a lot of bloatware preinstalled, software that you do not need and this includes a lot of the googles services, that most average users dont even see let alone use.
3) Just because phone hardware has come a long way and is a lot more powerful than it used to be so that the average person doesn't notice the slowdowns, doesn't mean that we should have bunch of unwanted services running on our phones all the time.
4) What i am also saying about huawei is, that most of the performance gains they claim will probably come from the fact that they will not have these Google services running in the background. Not because they have developed some amazing system or hardware that other companies couldn't do. I personally use Huawei phones for years now, but i am simply stating that from my experience, Huawei phones run a lot worse with their custom Android ROM with preinstalled google apps than they do with a custom rom with less or no google apps.

Not Google, it loses, and google doesn't want to lose money, like any other company, for us, the competition will make google and apple more determine to give better products.

I use iOS and Android for so many years now. I must admit, I’m also curious about Huawei’s new OS.
I think it will be really cool to see what they do with it! How you access apps, launch them, etc. Maybe they even go completely off the beaten path and go the route of Google's Fuchsia OS which has no app drawer.
It will just copy Apple.
Problem is it will be hard for them to rake the programmers from developing apps for another OS, Android, Windows and IOS is a pain already.

Suyog Shishupal it's still running on Android. Just a open source version with no Google services and slower updates. They can try to customize and optimize it to try to make up for it, but I doubt it.

PLOP uses android as base for their new Oak OS. It is no new OS, is a new android version outside the jurisdiction of google.
Blackberry had their own OS too. Just saying. A lot of people here dont know what they are talking about. The OS only matters because of the apps. It doesnt matter if it is 60 % percent faster or 10x more secure if there are no apps for it.

So, this new version of android (android being an open source) of huawei will run as the actual google's android does in terms of how the app are developed and executed on the phone. What I mean developper from android don't have to learn new things they only upload what they had on Huawei app store and voila... I am only hoping Huawei store won't have a lot of complication to deploy on their platform.

It is fake Huawei OS based on Android open source code which Google has a hand in there is no way that it is going to be that much faster than stock Android and maybe 5 to 10 percent maybe even 15% faster but there is no way been based off the Android open source code and Linux kernel that it can be that much faster unless they're using some sort of undisclosed super fast flash storage and ram that no one else has access to!!!

Could Huawei OS be 60% faster maybe but very unlikely it could be 5 to 15 percent faster but not likely the 60% unless they are using one or more faster technology then they currently have been RAM, UFS, SoC, or even Automatic Multicore from Single Core Processing on the fly as very few programs even OS use more than 1 to 4 cores at a time but if a OS could do that each core would be used more fully to it's maximum efficiency which is actually proven too extended battery life while making CPU's tasks faster
