You'll see a lot of clips of him saying "ban that guy" but that's essentially just a running gag in his streams more so than anything else, his chat is mostly made up of people who are in on the joke and don't mean it to be insulting and those who aren't in on it and are just being jerks, but again him having rather thick skin to the insults means he doesn't really care either way.

this being a first time impression of CaseOh for many people in the comments section is astounding and also shows how vast the internet is with separate but sometimes connected bubbles of influence that it’s an honest possibility that some may have only heard one or the other. Im glad that he made this little discussion and was generally pretty humble and respectful of the whole situation, so a lot people start to realize how good hearted he is as a person.

I watch much more of Pekora but I am familiar with CaseOh through clips. I agree with you, I like what he said here and it's sad how people get so toxic over these awards if their streamer doesn't win. Ironmouse for example got a TON of hate when she won. But as far as Pekora goes, there are a lot of translated subtitled clips of her out there along with many other Hololive girls. There's some really entertaining moments to be sure, and a lot of them are very talented at what they do. Basically all of them do gaming but they also have some AMAZING singers, I definitely recommend giving them a look if you're ever bored and don't know what to do, it's a HUGE amount of variety across many different personalities that often collab with one another. The rabbithole goes deep. There are even multiple free fan games out there. Holocure is probably the most popular one, it's basically like a free AND better version of Vampire Survivors. It's on steam.

I feel like I have to disagree with that. The amount of people who view content are technically a limited resource. If they are not watching you, they are watching something else. I feel like in the case of streaming, it does not apply. So you lose one viewer and some person gains one, making it a zero-sum game.
@@zer0stars this is assuming the viewerbase pool neither decreases nor increases. there are people who never watched youtube before (kids growing up, adults who have just started to figure out what streaming is), there are also elderly who's trying to see what's up with youtube and streaming. viewerbase depend on the population, and if the population is growing then it's not a limited resource. example: youtube viewerbase in 2014 vs youtube viewerbase in 2024 has such a large gap, the point is viewership and internet usage across all boards has been increasing since the start which disqualifies it as a limited resource

I don't even watch Pekora, but I've watched a couple clips due to the whole 2b2t thing with Pekora; I think it's "kon-peko guys?" It's a vocal quirk, some VTubers do that as far as I'm aware. I can't trace the exact meaning of it, but it's effectively like making the sound of said animal.

I'll never forget the moment I first came upon his website when I was looking for free background music way back in 2014 for a video story I made. I ended up downloading a lot of his music and listening to them while I work on my art and other stuff. It's thanks to him that I found many other great free music/song creators.
I only ever seen his clips of how his chat makes fun of him and he plays offended, yet somehow this is exactly what I thought his reaction would be like.
Caseoh comes off as very down to earth. Haven't sat down to watch him too often besides an occasional stream and all of the popular unhinged clips of him, but that's the reason I got on him.
I mean I also haven't really seen much of his content with only recently getting his vods recommended to me but from what little I've seen this reaction is as expected as even if he is playing it off for the bit because of chat you can easily tell he is overall a nice guy (not r/niceguys type)
You can bet your ass some of his "fans" were like excited for him to talk about this. They were probably waiting for Caseoh to justify their toxicity against Pekora and the other nominees but then instead got shut down when Caseoh told them to their face how insane they are. I don’t watch vtubers or the streamer awards but I do watch Caseoh content. It’s nice to see him defending his “opponent” (so to speak) and he’s such a wholesome guy. I miss streamers with his mentality. I hope the awards show goes smoothly for whoever wins 💕
I watch much more of Pekora but I am familiar with CaseOh through clips. I agree with you, I like what he said here and it's sad how people get so toxic over these awards if their streamer doesn't win. Ironmouse for example got a TON of hate when she won.
But as far as Pekora goes, there are a lot of translated subtitled clips of her out there along with many other Hololive girls. There's some really entertaining moments to be sure, and a lot of them are very talented at what they do. Basically all of them do gaming but they also have some AMAZING singers, I definitely recommend giving them a look if you're ever bored and don't know what to do, it's a HUGE amount of variety across many different personalities that often collab with one another. The rabbithole goes deep.
There are even multiple free fan games out there. Holocure is probably the most popular one, it's basically like a free AND better version of Vampire Survivors. It's on steam.

As MatPat once described it, streaming and content creation isn't a zero-sum game. Just because there are winners doesn't mean there have to be losers.
I feel like I have to disagree with that. The amount of people who view content are technically a limited resource. If they are not watching you, they are watching something else. I feel like in the case of streaming, it does not apply. So you lose one viewer and some person gains one, making it a zero-sum game.
@@zer0stars this is assuming the viewerbase pool neither decreases nor increases. there are people who never watched youtube before (kids growing up, adults who have just started to figure out what streaming is), there are also elderly who's trying to see what's up with youtube and streaming. viewerbase depend on the population, and if the population is growing then it's not a limited resource. example: youtube viewerbase in 2014 vs youtube viewerbase in 2024 has such a large gap, the point is viewership and internet usage across all boards has been increasing since the start which disqualifies it as a limited resource

So if for example vtubing didnt exist, the viewers wouldnt spend that time on other streamers, they would maybe play more games, watch series, read books etc. You dont grow as a streamer by "stealing" others viewers, its more important to convince people to spend their time on you instead of other things.

I'll never forget the moment I first came upon his website when I was looking for free background music way back in 2014 for a video story I made. I ended up downloading a lot of his music and listening to them while I work on my art and other stuff. It's thanks to him that I found many other great free music/song creators.
I only ever seen his clips of how his chat makes fun of him and he plays offended, yet somehow this is exactly what I thought his reaction would be like.
Caseoh comes off as very down to earth. Haven't sat down to watch him too often besides an occasional stream and all of the popular unhinged clips of him, but that's the reason I got on him.
I mean I also haven't really seen much of his content with only recently getting his vods recommended to me but from what little I've seen this reaction is as expected as even if he is playing it off for the bit because of chat you can easily tell he is overall a nice guy (not r/niceguys type)
