So so happy we can finally freeze columns, I have HUGE data basis with book references and this will make my life so much easier. Thank you for pointing it out.
what to do if you do not se the + sign at the top of your page. could it not be there since I am using the free version? Thank you so much for your vidoes, really happy I found you here on YT!!!! You are clear and consise when explaining how to create and use Notion. All The Best!!
The new tab feature to open up another Notion page is only available on the Desktop app. I should have mentioned that in the video. 🤦♀️ Are you using an iPad or the web version of Notion? If so, that might be the issue! Thanks so much for watching!
I am using it on the desktop. I have created a clumsy work around until I can get this figured out! Thank you for taking the time to respond! @@KalynBrookeCo
Oh, that's interesting! I have not yet run into the tabs not showing on the desktop app yet. Please let me know if you do end up figuring it out! You could also try right clicking on a page that you want to open. Sometimes a menu will pop up with the option to open it up in another tab.
I love your videos! How is it possible to make one column wider than the other (one third vs. two third like you have it in your dashboard)? When I create columns, they always divide evenly and become the same size.
Yes! All you have to do is hover in between the columns. When you see a grey dividing line appear, you can drag that column wider or shorter, depending on what you want. It will probably be easiest to do that on a desktop computer though. Thanks so much for watching and stopping by!
To add a view of a different database, I'm not sure why you're getting a window that gives you the option to select a datasource, but when I click add new view, that option doesn't come up, and I can only see ways to view the data in the current database. I looked around on Reddit and other forums and see people saying it's not possible, so now I'm esp. intrigued. How the heck did you do that?
It's magic! 😆 Okay, not really. But the secret (which I should have mentioned in this video) is you can only do this with a Linked View of a Database, not the original database. So anytime you embed the database in another Notion page, you'll be able to choose other database sources to go with it. Hope that helps!
Wow, different bulleted points look so cool! Thank you for the tip!
You are welcome! Have fun with this. :)
