    I have my Dad's 1400 22 caliber pellet pump (he pasted in 1975) and my husband wants to use it with our grandsons. After he watched your video and tried oiling and the alcohol overnight. Nothing seems to work. He gets no pumping action. Do you repair these pellet guns? We'd be interested in sending it to you and have you do a complete overhaul and test. Please respond, thanks!

      iam sorry but i doptn repair pellet guns for anyone anymore i just keep my own collection up and running also your talking about a vintage pellet gun and for that ebay might have the parts maybe, crosman wont have anything anymore for that gun and they guys i used to deal with for parts are eitehr passed away or like me retired from repairing for other people alot of it is due to hard to find parts and of course costs of shipping and parts cost if you can find them as well as the labour..if you cna find the parts you can get the diagrams from crosman and do it your self most crosman guns are really eaisy to work on

    Hello, great video, I had a question that perhaps you can answer. I have a crosman P1377 and everything seems to be working well, recently upgraded it with a flat piston and valve set up along with a larger port. Yet, there seems to be lubricant leakage in between the barrel and valve housing that I can see on both sides after use. Where it is leaking at is close to the the transfer port, a little forward of it. Any idea where it could be coming from? I assume the transfer port, but not certain. Is this normal? Suggestions? Anyway, thank you very much in advance!

    there are no problems shooting the 1322 or the 1377c in cold winter weather, co2 guns on the other hand lose upto 100 fps or more, and springer guns run eratic so a pumper is the best choice for cold weather and winter shooting

    I have a question, my 1377 (converted to 22cal.) makes a farting noise when pumped without being cocked first and does not make the same noise if it is already cocked before pumping. What's your take on this?

  • @techmaven5900
    @techmaven5900 8 років тому +1

    I have a 70's vintage 760 and a newer, single pump 781. Both make an exhaling type of noise from the receiver after pumping. Can I re-seal without disturbing the trigger assemblies? I worry about forgetting how they go together since my eyes are not as good as they used to be.

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68  8 років тому

      +john robert you can try just putting in a new pump cup but if that does not fix it then you will have to take the entire gun apart and all new seals will need to go in , if the air is coming out of just the reciever then yup reseal time for sure.. if you can not do this your self then send it to alan at abairgun.com he works on older and new crosman guns

    Not sure if questions still being answered. I have a fairly new 1377. I put some mineral oil past the pump cup in to the lower cylinder. It acted like I put sand in there. I followed with some 3&1 oil and worked it for months. Finally got it to pump ok (still not like when new) and I bought Gamo oil and added a drop inside that barrel. Back to being VERY hard to pump. Should I take apart and clean?

      well here is the store you really messed itup so your fix is to take it all apart order in a new valve all new seals and never use that crap in the gun again ever.. you can use either SAE 30 wt non detergnet motor oil wich is the best out of anything out there or crossman pellgun oil thats all i would ever get near any pelltgun

    You mentioned rebuilding the valve stem. I have a 1978 crosman 760 and I think the valve stem is leaking. Is there just an o-ring on it, that needs to be replaced? Or is it more involved than just putting an o-ring on it? Is there any videos on how to rebuild the valve stem?

      @KevinMillard68  3 роки тому +1

      did you replace the valve stem in the valve and keep the parts in there that you have done so far you should still have older parts that are bad sometimes its all goes down at once but you do have the have the right pumpcup size for your version of the gun there are 3 sizes total and if your fixing a really old one and you ordered new parts from crosman them self's then you likely will have the new cup version not the sold so for that you might need to contact and alternate dealer for parts or check ebay for the rebuild kits for the older guns

      @@KevinMillard68 thanks. I did contact the parts dealer, he's out of Al. he said I could send the parts back but I think I'm going to take a look at the original brass valve. I would like to keep it. They seem to be better from what I've seen in other vids. and I like the way it's design is with the pointed end valve instead of the flattened aluminium pointed one. They say the brass ones are more efficient. Can I take the aluminium valves stem out and put it in the brass one? What actually goes wrong with the stem? I looked at them and don't see any visual problems of defects. Btw I've had this gun since 91'. I took it all apart and re-blued all the parts. Looks good. I have another valve seal coming soon. I think I can get it like new again if I keep plucking away at it. I just had some unanswered questions I'm curious about is all. I thank you much for your insight. Is it something that just started recently after owning it for a period of time and shooting it... or did you just recently purchase it, and you noticed it the first time you went to pump it up ??.... it's hard to say without knowing the answers to those questions.

    I’ve got a 1969 crosman 760 power master that is burping air as you pump it,it’s also self cocking,got the rebuild kit from eBay everything put back new ,but the exhaust valve capos inop because it was destroyed when taking out.the new exhaust valve inner seal will not seal because the brass cap was torn up getting it out,is there a replacement for this or do I have to wish and hope I find a new valve cap assembly.

    I had a pellet stuck and when I got it out it will only shoot a bb if i fire it quickly after pumping it and I think I can throw the bb harder than it comes out of the barrel. It is an old 1377 I had when I was 18 and I'm 46 now. I found it in my parent's closet after they moved out. (Always wondered what happened to it). Anyway it worked fine until the pellet.After the 5 minute test it holds fine.

      after getting it apart, it seems that the front sight screw went into a barrel bushing or weight and pinned the barrel shroud in place. the kids removed that when they mounted an optic and I guess it worked loose over time. its a first run model between 78-82, chrome body and barrel band. it doesn't have all the parts listed on the 83 and up models.

    Hey and Hello! I seem to have the opposite problem of most other people, my 1377 actually holds air instead of loosing air! What I mean is, after pumping it up and shooting it, I can reload another 'round' without pumping it and it will still shoot again! I feel like it should be expelling all of the air in the chamber when it is shot. I have upgraded to a steel breech, added a heavier hammer spring, and a lighter trigger spring. Also, I like to shoot Gamo lead BB's, because of the problem with the steel breech screw hold making it harder to load a pellet easily. I doubt that would be the problem, but thought I would mention it, JIC. The Gamo lead BB's stay in the chamber and don't roll down the barrel like in my 880. I can't remember if I had this problem before doing the mods, and if this is a common thing with the 13XX's. I'm wonder what you think the problem might be, can't seem to find anything on this issue. Thanks!

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68  Рік тому

      if your pumping more then 10 times it will not always expelle all the air but if your only at 10 then it will before and haftre a heavey hammer spring would be no different the strionger spring should dump atleast 12 pumpos but more then that usually not

      I found some Gamo .218 round balls and they shoot ok in my Gamo but they drop down the muzzle and that can't be good for accuracy.
      I found some ,220s on E-bay. They still drop into the muzzle of my
      Gamo but won't chamber. That is really odd.
      The .220s shoot great out of my 1322. I am trying the .220s in my other guns. I have an early Crossman rifle that they won't chamber in.
      I have several more guns to try yet.
      I hope to find a rifle and pistol that will shoot round balls accurately and buy or make a mold so I can cast my own balls.
      Ballistic Products sells .218 and .219 lead balls in 8 pound jugs. They may have other sizes as well. They are hard lead but seem to shoot well and penetrate deeper than pellets.
      I would like to hear about your experiences shooting round balls.
      Thanks for posting.

    Kevy....Great video, just what I was looking for--thanks much! I have a Crosman 761XL Powermaster (SN 176049912) from my early years that does exactly what you describe--the pump handle falls freely all the way down, so I need O-rings and a new cup.

      1 valve stem seal is groved to deep

      Thanks for this advice! My 392 is just months old, with no mods. It has never been *knowingly* overpumped (more than 8x), and have tried to lube sparringly and only when appropriate. Then the other day I noticed that the rifle sure was getting harder to pump than I remembered! After firing a round I recocked & refired another pellet with no additional pumping! (I recocked & retested again, but the air was finally drained.) Given your suggestions, I suspect #3 might be most likely. I really need to get better at doing my own airgun smithing...

      Great video. I have a legacy 1000 and I think. I might have a jammed pellet inn the barrel. How do I get it out and where do I put the oil? I desperately need this working. I have a family of mice that are reproducing rapidly and they are destroying my house.

    ok I ended this test 2 days early I had to but what I did was put it over the chrony and it only lost about 10 fps over 2 weeks so test one had me curious, iam going to do further testing down the road once I do ill make a new video with results. so for now ill state that if all your seals are good, you can keep it pumped up for along time and show very little drop in fps you wont do any damage but why leave it pumped up for such along time would be my question,

    My 1322 seems to have trouble firing. I'll pump it up. Cock the bolt. You hear the hammer release and slide forward.... and nothing... any suggestions?
