When I first started singing, I used to practice singing in my falsetto voice along with the trumpet and lead electric guitar lines in songs I enjoyed. This caused my falsetto to be more accurate with melody and it taught me how to blend with instruments. The tough part is trying not to sound like you are screeching out notes, which I'm still working on. Switching between full voice and falsetto is still a never ending battle for me. I practiced a lot of "side yodeling" to get more comfortable with how that part of my voice works. I hope some of this helps!
