Mike Somich was on Mage last week and he confirmed for me that I needed to be too. Especially when Forte scratched today I adjusted by initial bet and took MAGE across the board and doubled my bet. Had $20 straight exact 8/2, 3, 7, 14, 17 as well. Thank you Racing Dudes and Mike Somich!

Mage was 15th and Angel of Empire was 16th coming out of turn one going down the backside. Mage worked himself all the way back to finishing 1st,while Angel of Empire finished 3rd. Both had very impressive runs.
Yeah. One video dhows Angrl has way bigger stride thsn Mage he moved late... was catching leads.
Where they were early depends upon the pace, this the second year that they ran so fast early.

This was another vintage kentucky Derby and numbers all hold truthful,since the fastest numbers showed up in the race. Two Phil's (synthetic) and Mage from Florida Derby with the best stayer Angel of Empire from Arkansas Derby. Regardless of all the hype of only racing three times and not starting as a two year old ,Mage under a really tremendous brilliant ride found a way to finish again and overcome all the kickback while getting up strongly to catch and beat a fantastic horse named Two Phil's. This definately goes to show how wonderful is Forte(champion) the one that did not get to start.For future races ahead be extra careful of Hit Show(badly drawn) nice run and the aptly named Disarm,who seemed to get bounce slightly,however was still closing late.Mage was a regal bred grand son of the great speed horse Big Brown and lightly race Good Magic out of Curlin. Hopefully the Florida Derby and Kentucky Derby did not do too much for a regress next time out by Mage.Now on to the Preakness and great story continues for Forte giant March to another championship year 2023.It could be a real Hit show of a performance on this triple crown series and the Travers at Saratoga in the summer.

They will probably save him for the Belmont. In the old days, most Derby horses went on to the Preakness, but these days I'd be surprised if he came right back in the Preakness.
Terrible break and no room inside starting down the stretch. Angel should probably skip the Preakness where the odds will be too low after that blazing stretch run.
Plus his trainer has a potential monster for the Preakness in First Mission.

Go back to your vids 2 weeks ago and I used puns to let you know Mage was my horse. Thank you guys for everything I used your analysis to hit a $1 box tri 3,8,14. Dang it I had $10 on the 3 to win and I split the last $10 on Mage and freaking Derma instead of going $10 on the 8. Hearing all the analysis and reading the PPs the answers were there, you guys lead me there. I’ve watched that stretch run 10 times and it gets me emotional every time now😂 I’m getting old.

@@Racingdudes literally just got back from the Borgata it was funny bc he looked at the slip and called his supervisor and the 3 cashiers cheered for me lol 😂 I started rambling like I been doing all day I was like “he was down and out, I thought no way will Angel, Tapit AND Mage all make it through, no bueno! Then like a phoenix out of the ashes Boom!” They were laughing bc they had no idea who “he” was and seemed to not really give a crap about horse racing in general. That said they were nice. Side note: other than the ridiculous crowds since Borgata is the only racebook in town now (why?) everyone was really cool in that building yesterday the vibe was great and it was PACKED. Every other place has sportsbooks, so why no ponies does anyone know?

Angel of empire was coming on strong down the stretch. If the race was another turn longer he would have won the race. Just ran out of track. But Angel of Empire is a solid horse!

So you're saying if the race was a mile, the trifecta woulda been "Verifying, Kingsbarns, Two Phils" ? LOL. The only way what you're saying holds true, is if when the gate opened, all of the horses began sprinting and ran as fast as they could the entire way. If that was true, I'd agree with you that AOE was going to catch Mage. But that's not how horse racing works. I'll explain how it works. When the gate opens, the jockey tries to get his horse to the finish line first. He does NOT try to "be coming at the end" or "have more gas in the tank than the others" or "woulda won if the race was shorter or longer". The best example is "Verifying woulda won if the race was a mile" -- no that's not true. Yes, he was in first there. But don't you think other jockeys would have rode their horses differently if the race was shorter? The answer is the SAME if the race is longer. Annnnd...the Preakness is shorter than the KDerby. But that doesn't mean that if AOE runs vs Mage, that AOE will lose to him. He could very will win. If your "idea" was correct....my god....do you know how easy it would be to handicap races? 😆

I had the winner for bunches...but let me say this: TWO PHIL'S IS A BEAST!!! Laid close to that scorcher and still gamed it out to the wire the way he did?? Next time he runs, whenever, wherever, empty out the IRA. By FAR the best horse in that race. Best of luck, guys!
Premature move by Two Phil’s jockey cost him the race. Larry Rivelli is a great trainer. Reminds me of Baffert.

Seriously, that was a brilliant performance! Blistering pace, and Two Phil was just off it and still came in second, while Verifying fell back. Mage won in a classic fashion, with a come from behind win, but Two Phil’s is really a horse to watch. Angle of Empire shows some interest at the distance, but we’ll see😆

Got the oaks / derby double for 10.00, hit the exacta , the pk 3 and 4 of us out together and won the pk 5 ,we are at Belmont park , I need a vacation now , I had a great run
Mike Somich is one of the few handicappers that does not just go directly for the odds-on favorites. He thinks out of the box and has no trouble picking longshots, like he did with Mage, at 18-1. Unless you are betting boatloads of money on the favorites, which win at about a 30% clip, better using picks that include long shots that make sense. Not surprised that most that consider themselves to be handicappers opt for the easy way out, i.e. picking a favorite that often does not win.

Mage probably would have beaten Forte, but Mage's victory flatters Fortes Florida Derby. Better than it looked.
Bravo Mike 👏🏼 Mage progressed/peaked at the perfect time. Connections must have been happy Forte scratched or Mage would have been following Forte's tail over the line for the 3rd time 😂

This was the easiest derby winner I ever have. I was going to bet him even if Forte started. If you watched the FL derby, which was only his third start, he broke dead last and was rushed early then ran immaturely down the stretch. This was his 4th start and a switch back to JC. Jerry Bailey was the reason he caught my attention. Thanks JB. GIFT!!!!💯💯

@@frankcarolei9998 If your a regular fan yes you wouldnt understand . But if your everyday horse guy and hanicap races each week . there no reason you shouldnt have got the exactor . Read the program people this year had no surprises. All the good horses got scratched durning the week and every Racing Guru was playing twophils , Emprieer , Tapit Trice , Mage , Box. one the easiest exactors i ever caught

Mage, Angle, Tapit, Phils , HAD to be your key horse . there wasnt no bomb horse today and plus the big name horses Forte, Skinner got scratchedddddddd. it made the pick even easier i key those 4 horses with that japan and disarm . ..easy moneyyyyyyyyyyy
I am surprised he went off at that price. If the 2 year old Champion Forte had started, he would have been the clear cut favorite and Mage finished second to him in the FL Derby after a slow start and a premature move. Jerry Bailey said it right after the race that he was going to be a serious contender in the Derby and with Forte scratched, to me he was the obvious choice.

This derby has me more excited about the Preakness and Belmont than I ever have been before. Thought this one was tough to handicap? Just look at the Preakness field. I can see them finishing five across at the wire… first mission, mage, forte, two Phil’s, instant coffee, Arabian lion… what if practical move comes back? wow
Then I think about the Belmont… tapit trice, Angel of empire, red route one, maybe forte again, disarm, maybe hit show takes another step forward. Get hyped dudes it’s going to be a hell of a year!
Two Phil's really impressed me by sticking around to the end after running close to a very hot pace. The three jockeys who went 22.35 should be taken in for mental health checkups.
That push button move by mage not only killed my derby, it also took out my hopes for hitting the Preakness futures bet I have on two Phil’s. All the jockey has to do is ask mage at the right time. A mage/forte rematch in the Preakness would be epic.
I like this horse's chances if he can get the right field in the Preakness, think he wins the Belmont if Empire isn't there. If this race was a couple furlongs longer, Empire would've been a really strong triple crown contender. Hard to ever second guess a jockey, but I think it's easy to say he dropped the hammer too late, should've gone for the lead on the back stretch or at least try to make up space rounding for home. Looked really powerful on the stretch, impressiveal animal.
Good boy Mage, you made me proud, too bad Angel of Empire who was closing fast, missed the place.

Angel of Empire's run looks a lot like Forte's Florida derby against Mage, but Mage doesn't collapse this time. Feel like I have just as many questions about this 3yo class leaving the derby as I did coming in.

Frustrated by that ride on Kingsbarns. Even Jose admitted that he wished he would of relaxed on him a bit more. I'm convinced that UAE winners are cursed, something weird happens to them every year. Derma ran great after that horrible break. Tapit colts will always be a bet against in my mind in the derby. Tapit will sire a winner eventually but he won't be a grinder. He'll be more like a Flightline type

Mandarin Hero just seemed to run out of stamina. Derma Sotogake reacted late out of the gate and then reacted late at the final turn. MAGE had better reaction time.

Really don’t see the problem. For us, it’s better for the algorithm and for catching more people to watch the video because of search terms. We’re also FAR from the only ones doing it. Did you go pose that inane question to every other channel?
@@Racingdudes No. This was the first one I found to watch the replay since I had no access to the race live. Not everyone has all the TV channels, you know. NBC Sports, who had the rights, did NOT put the winner in their replay. They never do. This happens a lot in many sports, not just horse racing. It spoils the fun of watching the event.

And the horse did not get a great trip the last 3/8 of a mile he came wide, but was fairly clean, but before that he ran up behind a wall of horses a couple times. I said this horse was the best three year old when he ran second in the Florida derby, because of his experience, and all the trouble he overcame And I believe he proved it today. I believe he’ll win the Preakness also and you will definitely get a decent price because forte will be back and a few others will probably be back also.
