The cheese is lovely Annette, and who knew there was a Northamptonshire blue cheese. Rockingham Castle is such a special place, and you were lucky to be able to visit on your bikes. x
This was always on the list when I used to go to Rutland and Eye Brook fishing for the RAF. Never made it in those days, perhaps Desmond will take me soon.
A place we've never been to. Looks lovely and you had good weather too. Dave loves scotch eggs. Some great stalls there. Hi Dawn and Dave. Rockingham Castle is always worth a visit, especially on a lovely summers day, and the gardens are beautiful and change during the seasons. The church that was sadly closed, is really worth a visit, with so much to see. Thank you for watching.....Paul and Suzanne.
Not sure about a campsite, but people taking part in the larger events over 2 or 3 days probably stay on site. Not sure if that means others can camp there.
My first visit was in the 4th year juniors. Did you know the front of the castle was used as scenery in the film Top Secret with Val Kilmer? If you go to the top of the turrets, on a clear day you can see 4 counties. Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire & Rutland.

It is open during the week, but it's worth checking the website to see which days it is open, and for how long.
