I seen one years ago in the 80's my brother showed it to me. I didn't think much of it at the time. There was a lot of old car's around at that time.

There were two red and white 56's in my home town. My dad had one, but we didn't know the family that owned the other. move forward 35 years. I'm looking up and down rows of cars at the Kruse Auction. My wife says, "what are you looking for". I explained about my dad's car. Turns out it was her dad who owned the other. Sure wish i could find one.

This is a beautiful car! It is unusual to find a 56 Mercury with three speed let alone the overdrive. Another thing that's unique about your car is that it is a six passenger instead of an eight. I also have a Custom wagon like yours that I am restoring. It too is a 3 speed stick w/overdrive. Thanks for sharing your awesome wagon! It's inspirational!
