My mom worked for the DOD for over thirty years... She had top secret security clearance... She's almost seventy now, retired ofc... But she still won't tell me any of the jobs she worked on. Kinda makes me mad!
+Wretched42 I'm female, and I have a security clearance for my federal government job. Not a super top secret one LOL. It's just to make sure we don't commit identity theft. My job requires a security clearance because our work can involve looking at medical records, social security numbers, etc.
My idea of a jigsaw puzzle is 2 mice, 1 controls and the other is trapped There are 2 doors One door kills the trapped and sets the control free The other door kills the control and sets the trapped free
Sean, if you've ever been curious as to why the mice seem so skiddish around the traps, it's typically not because they're smart enough to realize this "almost looks like a trap." Your scent is all over these traps from handling them. They have competing smells with the bait, and you, so they feel as if a predator might be close by. Just thought I'd say that! Keep the videos coming. Love it.
Idea: if you use a plastic bowl, you could modify it by adding in a one-way door, because as you can see, more mice came to see the trap after the mouse had been caught, so you could have a higher chance of catching more. Just a suggestion
I pass up a number of videos but I cannot pass up an interesting mouse trap. I like that he uses his traps on wild mice, not mice that were caged and staged like some videos.
The way these mice have second thoughts before returning to their traps reminds me so much of CCTV of burglars, casing the joint probably thinking it's too good to be true.
Hmmm....What there will be a rubber gasket on the bowl and the surface will be rubber too, maybe it could create a seal that will suffocate the mouse after it uses all the air. What do you think?
Sure, it works well. But if the captured mice are going to chew up the trigger levers each time, and ruin them for additional usage, maybe it’s not really so good; it becomes a very elaborate single-use trap. I’d give this trap a little flip, and move on to the next one.
Good idea........ I thought id seen all the trigger mechainisms, but no. I think the staples would have to precisely positioned. It keeps bait area well away from the exit area. Nice job.
In my childhood, I caught many mice using a glass jar, a wood plate, a match, and a piece of thread with bait. Extremely simple design, automatic with good reliability. Good luck...
Ya be better with a old fashioned milk bottle have the neck part having on a tilt up put some mince pie in it when the mouse smells the bait when eaten and mouse try to get out it carn't coz it keeps slipping back down if only we could get hold of the bottles again we'd be better off
This trap reminds me of the time we rented a fishing cabin at the beach and had a mouse that got into our bread... my friends dad used the cap off a twist top soda, cheese pressed into the cap, and a coffee mug. The cap placed facing inward with the opening turned inside and mug standing up on the edge of the cap. Mouse went inside cup after cheese. The cap slid out and mug trapped mouse... Same principle.. enjoy your videos.
It seems you could convert that from a live trap by laying a silicone circle where the bowl falls and pressing the bowl into it so ti will seal when it falls.
CHEESE!!! It's about time you finally used something besides Peanut Butter! When in the heck have you ever seen Jerry in a Warner Bros. Tom & Jerry Cartoon ever steal Peanut Butter? The only time I baited a Victor Snap Trap with Peanut Butter, that damned Mickey Mouse I was after just licked it right off the Trigger... Cheese and Apple-smoked Bacon work EVERY time!🐀
If your trap depends on something more solid, then peanut butter wouldn't be the best option, but it's good general bait because it's fatty and calorie dense. We've trapped mice with aged cheese, cream cheese, peanut butter and even mayo before.
Damm to give it a little flip. O well can't have everything. Would be so funny if you released the mouse and as it's running away a Hawk grabes it. Good trap. ? How much trouble did you get into for using that bowel?
Yeah, but then how do you safely remove the mouse? Given that most people who put out traps won't just release them back into the wild. Probably anything you'd use for the removal would serve as the base of a much better trap..
Hey Shawn, Have you done a piece on the game, "Mousetrap?" There was a board game, or maybe you just constructed it, a Rube Goldberg contraption. You could construct it, excited to see if it works, build it, test it, "Sorry folks, the 15 steps to get the cage to fall was 3 moves in, and the mouse just strolled away. He did this as the marble went round and round, he nibbled here when the scissors cut the string, he jumped when the pistol fired and made the object fall, he was gone when this and that happened, and the cage fell when he was long gone.Maybe we should test it again...
Hey man I’m new to your channel, love mouse trap Monday! I was wondering if you could do a groundhog trap or if you have done one before. I have a groundhog in my back yard that I see time to time and would love to see/hear what you recommend. Thanks again and you gained a sub!
We got rid of our diamond pythons because we hated feeding them mice (and they got so big they needed guinea pigs). We'd go to the pet store and they'd say 'Oh you again, the mouse collectors! Which cuteys would you like today? We have Harold over here, he's a beautiful mouse'... 😟 One day we told them, 'please stop naming them and choosing the cutest ones because they are just snake food'. Ended up donating the pair of pythons to a zoo nearby which has plenty of hamsters for food and a better environment for them. Sure, I get that it's all part of the food chain. But I find small rodents cute, especially if they are native. Sewer rats, however, need to be snake food. They are ugly little buggers.
Personally, I wouldn't use cheese or chocolate if you're in a hot climate as both would melt and trigger this particular trap. A pretzel you could balance would be better.
+David, writes _"If it was me, that bowl will be trash right away. I would never eat from that bowl again"_ You know they invented this thing called cleaning, right?
Mice technically can't eat cheese. They can't digest it. If you look closely, they get interested until they find out it isn't nuts or whatever they can eat. They just hang around. ^¬^
The bowl is legendary. The Holy Grail caught Jesus' blood from the cross. The Oily Bowl caught 7 mice in one night. It needs its own Indiana Jones movie.
Shawn, how about making a scaled up version of the game Mouse Trap that actually catches mice? Edit: Hey Shawn, I see you actually did this on August 3rd, a couple of weeks after I posted this. Way to go.

Honestly, after the bowl of peanut oil, every other trap is just a novelty item.
That's what I'm talking about!....
yeah lets get peanut oil bowl variations!
It worked well??
Garry Higgins. Extremely
Oil traps are banned under united rat nations convention because its not rumane....
MRS. WOODS YOUR HUSBAND IS USING YOUR KITCHEN WARE FOR MOUSE TRAPS AGAIN
Snitches get stitches!
My mom worked for the DOD for over thirty years... She had top secret security clearance... She's almost seventy now, retired ofc... But she still won't tell me any of the jobs she worked on. Kinda makes me mad!
Wait.. was this the same bowl he used with the peanut oil trap?
SHHHHHHHHH

As soon as I seen the word 'bowl' I thought about the peanut oil bowl trap, my favorite trap video so far.
Chuck Keough lol
Especially how they were all sleeping and cuddling at the end.
I would love to see more versions or testing of the peanut oil bowl trap, but its already very effective.
😆
Chuck Keough he should do a walk the plank into the peanut oil trap
when are you gonna make a "Jigsaw" style trap where the mice have a chance to "play a game" to survive
Foxotic that’s a bit morbid..
That is twisted
Foxotic good idea!!! 💡
My idea of a jigsaw puzzle is 2 mice, 1 controls and the other is trapped
There are 2 doors
One door kills the trapped and sets the control free
The other door kills the control and sets the trapped free
Foxotic 😅😂😂

I think you need to change Batmans name to ''Fatman''
Corrosion37 or “Ratman”
Corrosion37 really let himself go after he gave up crime fighting!
Batfink is better
Yes
Corrosion37 ik!!!! He named the mouse after my favorite superhero😔
"Honey?? Have you been using my mixing bowls to trap mice again?? There's poop in it."
Shawn said he'd clean it
"Honey?"
"What?"
"Where's my mixing bowl?"
"What?"
"Where. Is. My. Mixing bowl???"
ChromaLuke
Do you detect the potential for a little marital tension?

Guess who will be sleeping in the barn tonight.
Also 'there's peanut oil in it' 😂
Never have I ever actually wanted mice in my house. This channel is something special.
This video is fake
Batman never loses
Wnuczek Pl he may have lost the battle be he did not lose the war
Foxotic he will return and able to flip the table on him and trap the man instead.
Of course I don't who says I do lose...
Wnuczek Pl your existence is fake
Wnuczek PI !!!!@@ IK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you give live mice a flip?
Blazng Heart 😆
Hmm live flip is crazy
I wish he would have at least gave the bowl a little flip. That would have made my day. Lol
Mr. Nicholas, yes we need more flip to make our lil'hearts beating more harmoniously
RomanoProductions -- ... is it any crazier than the fact that so many people like watching mouse traps in action (me, included!!) ???
Love how Batman is so nonchalant about getting trapped. The moment the bowl falls, he’s just grooming himself all causally. Great! 😂
Professional stunt mouse. He knows it is all for the camera and he has done his part. Need to groom up for the second take.
"Here's your supper Shawn, ...in the bowl you used to catch the mice."
I love how the wild mice instantly realizes what happened lol
was thinking the Same thing. The sheltered lab mouse seemed indifferent.
The blood spot on your nail has moved almost to the end of your thumb... THAT is how often and how much I watch this channel.
Very creative trap!
Idea: if you use a plastic bowl, you could modify it by adding in a one-way door, because as you can see, more mice came to see the trap after the mouse had been caught, so you could have a higher chance of catching more. Just a suggestion
Mousetrap monday cures my depression.
Pack Lee mine too for the moment
Imagine urself got caught in it😆😆😆😂😂

Could be made of metal. The real problem is the size. Traps need to fit tight spaces. Not everybody has a dedicated trapping barn.
@@zwz.zdenek kitchen/cellar floor is the usual trap place in the uk. You have space there right?
Couldn't they suffocate if they're in there for a while or are the small gaps between the bowl and the wood large enough to provide adequate air flow?
I was wandering what kind of motion camera you use in your experiments with your mouse traps.
Does this harm them at all? Do they suffocate or is it safe and harmless?
2:28 - "Uh... damn... Hey! Fred! Heyyyy!! Fred, help me out here! Fred! Dammit, Fred, come back!"
Fred just does not give AF.
Good idea........ I thought id seen all the trigger mechainisms, but no.
I think the staples would have to precisely positioned.
It keeps bait area well away from the exit area. Nice job.
Had you wanted the mouse deaded, how would you have gotten to said mouse?
Thanks
Whos going to shawns house to eat?
i would
You're funny.
Eat rat
I went once, then I found these videos.
@@discusobscurum2194 Salmonella City!
21 moms don't approve of you using bowls from the cupboard.
How long does the mouse die of suffocation / oxygen deprivation?
In my childhood, I caught many mice using a glass jar, a wood plate, a match, and a piece of thread with bait.
Extremely simple design, automatic with good reliability.
Good luck...

Batman looks well fed! He didn't seem to impressed with your trap! lol
Its half 2 in the morning but i have to catch up on mouse trap Monday!
Do you think it needs to have some ventilation?
It only catches one mouse between each manual reset, which is hardly effective on a farm with typically hundreds of mice and rats in an infestation.
batman is so chill once he is caught 😂😂😂
It seems you could convert that from a live trap by laying a silicone circle where the bowl falls and pressing the bowl into it so ti will seal when it falls.
CHEESE!!! It's about time you finally used something besides Peanut Butter! When in the heck have you ever seen Jerry in a Warner Bros. Tom & Jerry Cartoon ever steal Peanut Butter? Jeff Harman that's funny also if your a soldier thank you for your service I whant to be a paratrooper
Jeff Harman I would never sacrifice bacon to trap a mouse! That bacon is mine!
If your trap depends on something more solid, then peanut butter wouldn't be the best option, but it's good general bait because it's fatty and calorie dense. We've trapped mice with aged cheese, cream cheese, peanut butter and even mayo before.
Will try that they need something harder taster to chew on with arsnic and glue so it will get stuck while eating it's last supper 😉🤣😃
Your right there mate the longer it takes to eat it the quicker the traps works 👍👍
How long did it take for you to take your move
should i use pyrex with this?
Is that the same bowl you use for the last 2bowl trap
Do you test ur "pet" mice on kill traps aswell?
Do they die from suffocation?
Any ideas about co2 chamber mousetrap? When it gets in and has no chance
It could be done in a million ways but i wanna see co2 filled mousetrap
Damm to give it a little flip. O well can't have everything. Would be so funny if you released the mouse and as it's running away a Hawk grabes it. Good trap. ? How much trouble did you get into for using that bowel?

Yeah, but then how do you safely remove the mouse?

I'd like to make one for catching a buffalo but can't find a bowl that's big enough.
Easier to fill a lake with peanut oil

Jay Brown, That might work. Very ingenuous. Thanks for the suggestion!

Chewing the stick was stuff to do for the mouse while trapped. Doing those levers from wood is a feature.
When you catch a mouse heat up some oil in a pan. Throw a beaten egg and bread crumbs into the bowl, shake well and put the mouse in the oil.
Ninja Racer tried it to a live mouse. taste awful.
Err your discusting hey if that's what you do and if your that Hungary we'll send you some 🤣😄🤣
Why do you always release them?

Did you at least let Batman have the cheese as a "participation" reward?
ebayerr cheese kills mice!
Transgender tidbits : Huh?
I think mice can't digest cheese
Some how this guy makes mouse traps extremely interesting and entertaining
Excellent sir with this mouse trap I have manage to catch 5 mice ! No other trap so far has worked ... Thank you !!
I like how Batman just starts casually cleaning himself while the director sets up his next shot...
Did you hit your thumb with a hammer?
If the mouse stay under the bowl wont it run out of air ?
Now I need a Batman comic where he is captured by Shawn Woods the Mouse Hunter with just a comically big bowl, with a Joker doll as bait.
How doesn't it suffocate?
Shawn, can you do fly traps too. Most don't work!
What happened to your thumb?

What's the most complicated mousetrap that still works? Doesn't have to be super reliable, but the more unreliable, the more complicated it should be.
beautiful trap. Very well done, very different. Great addition to your video collection.

Love watching 🐁 trap Monday on Saturday morning.
Very cool. Seems like a larger version would work for varmints.
If it was me, that bowl will be trash right away. I would never eat from that bowl again.

Still the best is the plank, oil, and the uhlik repeater.
Love the name you give to the black mouse

I don't really have a mice problem, but I enjoy watching your videos. Very interesting stuff.
Is that the same bowl from the bowl of peanut oil video?
The bowl is legendary. The Holy Grail caught Jesus' blood from the cross. The Oily Bowl caught 7 mice in one night. It needs its own Indiana Jones movie.
I love how you let the mouse walk ❤
I like how your pet mice, are never concerned that they have been trapped.
Looks effective but one nutty guy at a time, may never end the problem.
Bat Man is so used to getting trapped now he dose not freak out anymore.
Shawn, how about making a scaled up version of the game Mouse Trap that actually catches mice?
Edit: Hey Shawn, I see you actually did this on August 3rd, a couple of weeks after I posted this. Way to go.
I have one set with a peanut butter-smeared pretzel stick for bait.
I use a walnut with a stick and at the end of the stick i put some bait it works really good and is easy to make than this one
