I'm Indonesian, i had been planning for a vacation in lombok in September this year, I'm still planning where can i go and what will i do when i landed in lombok. Here is my itinerary plan in lombok down the line . In central lombok, I'm planning to visit Pink beach, Kuta beach, bukit merese, selong belanak beach, benang kelambu waterfalls, mandalika circuit. In east lombok, I'm planing to visit Sembalun village and mangku sakti waterfalls, also i wanna do culinary activity and visiting the museum of negeri mataram, islamic center in mataram, and amusement park and wild animal park/zoo. In north lombok I'm planning visiting 3 gili, gili meno, gili trawangan and gili air. This is gonna be so much fun, because will be my first time😊

I've come back from Lombok over 3 weeks ago now, which was my 2nd visit there, and South Lombok beaches are stunning. I do think Tanjung Aan Beach has some litter issues but the views when you climb up the steps are beautiful. I think Mawun is my favourite but really liked Selong Belanak (mainly for surfing) and Kuta too
Yeah I agree on them being beautiful and there was a fair bit of plastic on the sea as well. In couldn't believe how quiet the beach in Kuta was. Practically no one on there. Yeah Selong and Tanjung were also very nice. Where else on Lombok would you recommend for when we go next time?

Also a couple of waterfalls tour too - Tiu Kelep and Sendang Gile waterfalls - and the Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu waterfalls. Have you done the Secret Gilis Tour? (Gili Sudak, Gili Nanggu and Gili Kedis)? I'm sure you did the Gili Islands (Trawangan, Air and Meno)? Have you been around Senggigi area? Have you visited Lombok Islamic Centre in Mataram?
@@brothersman524 We didn't do any of those trips to be 100% honest. The pink beach looks nice in the south and then Gilly T is up in the north. You'll have an amazing time and hopefully the weather is still really good :) I broke my drone on the 4th day - otherwise I would have been able to capture more amazing footage. The sunset at Bukit Merese Hill in Kuta is amazing, so make sure you do that
@@gazwrighttravel If you have time, do the ones I have suggested. I have climbed Bukit Merese during the afternoon on my 1st trip and then the sunset one on my 2nd trip recently. Sunsets in the Senggigi area is really good. There is a beach bar there called Nuf Said Warung that serves good food and drinks, and just a great place to relax on the beach during sunset

Hey mate - I really appreciate that :) The beaches we went to on Lombok were super beautiful! Only thing we missed out on was checking out the waterfalls so maybe have a look into that. Mandalika Beach Club is class if you want a super chilled day out. Its deffo not a Finns/ party type vibe... or it wasn't when we were there

Hey - I am glad it was useful! The beach club is a super chilled vibe and we really enjoyed the sunset spot... make sure you get there a bit before sunset as the sun sets behind the mountains, so it will be a little bit before the actual time :)

The title suggests there are mistakes…you didn’t make any!! Enjoyed the tour. I am looking for a hotel for a 5 day visit next year, ideally close to Mandalika circuit. However the Pullman, the Novotel, as well as the Raja Hotel Kuta Mandalika are already booked. So, looking for a quiet place (Beach Club not my thing) somewhere in Kuta close enough to walk to restaurants. I use Gojek motorbike taxi in Jakarta, or Grab. Would these be available in Lombok?
Hey matey - we could not book a Gojek during our entire week there. They have them at the airport but no where else. You can either get a motor bike yourself or get a local taxi drivers number when yo get there. There are loads of them on the street, but you would need to walk to them on the first day :) I really enjoyed it, but its very different to Bali. A lot more chilled ad relaxed - slower pace of life. Have you locked in a plan of what you are going to do?
Yes confirmed for MotoGP October 2025. Their hotel package this year was at the Swiss-Belhotel - but it’s near the airport, which doesn’t make sense. Their 3 day package rate was ridiculous. Just need something close, and reasonable cost. Probably will just pick up the phone and call some hotels. Renting a motorbike in Indonesia will be new for me😮

I've been in Kuta for 7 hours and I'm already thinking about leaving. The people are wonderful, but so are other parts of Indonesia. The town is ugly, dusty, everything is under construction, the beach is terribly dirty and the surrounding beaches are not the best you can find here either. why do people come to kuta?
@@OmarOrtiz1 yeah I agree with you on the dirty part. It’s a lot slower pace of life that Bali, sit back relax and kick the feet up. Check out one of the beaches I mentioned and the sunset viewpoint! Where abouts are you staying?
@@gazwrighttravel selong belenak. Typical infinite sand beach without any shade to enjoy it. with plastic... I think it's only interesting if you want to surf. and the beach in the town of kuta where on one side there was only plastic in the sand and on the side where it was clean it was also desert. I don't know, I think that in other parts of the island or in the different Gili (there are many around Lombok) you can find much nicer beaches, with much more vegetation and see the same sunsets. I haven't understood the charm of this place. in addition to the added difficulty that you absolutely need a scooter. I have been looking at guides when I arrived at the hostel to understand if I was missing something, but I see that I wasn't. The rest of the beaches are similar and the town is quite unpleasant. But I want to tell your that your guide is wonderful. I thank you very much for the video. 🙏
Main Kuta area is not nice imo - broken glass on the beach, young kids pushing for your money, tourist scams, etc... You need a taxi or bike to travel a minimum of 15 minutes east or west to reach the beautiful areas.
I can semi agree with this. The beaches nearby as so much better, but I thought the beach was really quiet. We didn't have to many people trying to see us things. I think the far left side near MBC Beach Club is the nicer end. But I do agree on the plastic and pollution. What tourist scams did you encounter?
@@gazwrighttravel Don't get me wrong, Lombok is beautiful and I much prefer it to Bali (I live in Jakarta btw; so both islands are still a luxury destination to me). However, there were broken Bintang bottles on the beach and many groups of young children who pickpocket naive tourists (please see many other youtube videos) are around. If you watch carefully you will see that they are reluctantly sent out by their parent to sell bracelets. I understand Bahasa Indonesia so I do know what they say to the bule. If I can summarise, Indonesia is stunning and the people are wonderful - just not where the tourists gather and where there is an opportunity to gain. Shame - I would never return to Kuta, Lombok.
@@liggs71 We 100% noticed the children being forced to work. It was quite sad to see one kid who's mum was driving him on a motor bike to different restaurants. We preferred Bali due to it being a lot more vibrant, but maybe thats because we have spent more time here :) We leave Indonesia tomorrow, but we will 100% be coming back. Where else would you recommend for our 2nd visit?
