Wow....I don't even know how to describe these cards in order to give you the credit you deserve...These are just STUNNING, Jennifer! Thank you so so much always giving such great details in your tutorials...You are so kind...Have a blessed day! 🌹
Jennifer these flowers are colored so beautifully. I love the soft feeling of them. It's dreamy and romantic. Just fantastic. This is a good demo of what the Inks can do. Thank you for sharing with all of us. pat
You have knocked it out of the park again, Jennifer! I just love watching your videos for inspiration and all the tips and tricks you share. THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!! 😁😍
I love the cards that you made using Distressed Oxide Ink with water! I truly love the look after you sprayed with a fixative! Thank you for all the valuable information you provide and appreciate the time you spend making these videos!! I've watched all the distressed oxide ink videos now that I truly need to purchase all 4 sets!!!
I also love the distress ink refresher. It's a brilliant product which we don't talk about enough. Often I find there's plenty of pigment left, but my mini ink cubes are a tiny bit dry, and it works great. But I love them so much that I eventually invested in the reinkers also. Because they're amazing. Love your videos! Thanks.
Jennifer, you inspire me each and every time I watch one of your videos. Thank you very much. I tried water coloring with the distress oxide inks and boy does it make a difference with the paper you work on and what your embossing powder is like. I love the way it looks on craft with a very fine black embossing powder outline. The white emossing powder I have is terrible and it is not fine. I use that on black cardstock/poster board and it was terrible. My poor little lovebirds, a Crafter's Companion stamp, don't have any definition to speak of. thank you again for all your wonderful tips and for giving so much of yourself to the public. We do appreciate you.
I just ordered the new oxides! I can't wait for them to ship to me. I love oxides. They make gorgeous backgrounds and I'm excited about trying this technique out. Thanks for sharing!
Jennifer your cards are so beautiful, I love that stamp too. Being in the UK it’s not that easy to get SSS products. Thank you for all your hard work. I have used you swatch downloads and find it so helpful.... xx
Beautiful cards and a beautiful stamp set. The blue card is my favorite (blue is my fav color). I don't have any of the oxides. I'll have to start buying a couple at a time, but I don't know which ones to get first, any suggestions? I do like broken china and sea glass.
These are absolutely beautiful!! When I saw the stamp I didn't like it but wait, here is Jennifer's card. Boom, going to buy it now! Quick question if I may? I am not a fan of sprays I have to go outside to do, and it's not really an option for me. Do you recommend anything else I can seal these with? I really would like to seal mine. BTW - Thank you for your video's. I am new to crafts, only a few years in now, and your videos have been a valuable tool for learning techniques and quality products.
Absolutely beautiful cards Jennifer. I didn't think it was necessary to seal the Oxides? I never noticed any smearing once dry, however its good to know just in case I do. TFS!
Once the distress inks dry on your craft mat, can you reactivate them with water? And if so, can you save swatches of the ink in a covered watercolor paint palette to use later?
Hmmm. A giant lightbulb went off in my head watching this. Instead of water, I would mix the oxide ink with some liquitex iridescent medium. Worth a shot.
I had the most impossible time getting the stamp to clearly show all it's lines using the VersaMark ink pad. I even stood on the misti trying to get the image to clearly show. It constantly left out the middle section of the stamp. What am i doing wrong? There was so much sticky ink after mulitple attempts that the white embossing powder filled in a lot of the flower/petal sections. I was so looking forward to the making of this lovely card.
Gorgeous cards, as usual! I’m wondering if you lightly spray fixative over entire card or just painted oxide surfaces? Didn’t know if partial spraying would show. Thanks.
in my cards, I spray the whole card. Watercolored Oxides need a really good coat of spray or the MicroGlaze to keep the chalky residue from coming off on fingers and the like.
I think you also need to consider how she has so many different ink pads, she doesn’t overuse one particular pad or series of pads in a shorter amount of time frame. So for her they can last a long time. If you’re like most of us, with small collection of ink pads, if you really like them, and they’re drying out, then consider buying the reinkers. I don’t think Jennifer has any particular technical reason for not buying reinkers for her other pads.
ah yes but i use mine daily as it is my job so i use them A LOT. i just recently replaced a couple ink pads i had been using a lot for 15 years! (no reinkers were available plus a fresh pad is nice some times.
here is an old video that still holds true. oxide inks aren't in there but they are like a combo of dye and pigment. ua-cam.com/video/BTfajhSHw3o/v-deo.html
These are beautiful! I love watercoloring with my oxides! I've never sealed mine and I've never had any ink come off.
good to know!
The cards are beautiful. I was never fond of craft cards, but you have certainly changed my mind. Thanks a bunch.

Gorgeous card. What beautiful, new colors!! Just when I thought my collection of Distress Oxides was full enough!!

Beautiful Jen :)

Beautiful cards! Such a fun way to paint! Where do you get your colored envelopes from? I didn’t see them linked below.
Hi Jennifer, love the card, but can you tell me were I can buy those blocks you used in you`re misti, Hells
Absolutely beautiful cards Jennifer. I didn't think it was necessary to seal the Oxides? I never noticed any smearing once dry, however its good to know just in case I do. TFS!

Question: The 2nd card you used black versa fine ink AND THEN used clear embossing powder?!? The black ink holds the embossing powder?
Will the creative corners work with the Tim Holts platform?
Very elegante cards!!!
So pretty
what would happen if after you finish and it's dry if you put on distress glaze?
Gorgeous cards. Jennifer, when you spray the fixative, do you only spray where oxide ink was used or do you spray the entire card front?
just the panel with the oxide inks.
Uuhhhhhg why?!!! I can’t buy these right now but as soon as I can I’m running to where ever they have them and getting every single one!!
Jennifer what is the triangle stop you are using in you embossing powders now? Is that a DIY item?

Gorgeous cards, as usual! I’m wondering if you lightly spray fixative over entire card or just painted oxide surfaces? Didn’t know if partial spraying would show. Thanks.
😀
in my cards, I spray the whole card. Watercolored Oxides need a really good coat of spray or the MicroGlaze to keep the chalky residue from coming off on fingers and the like.
Is it OK to use distress glaze on it instead of the spray?
I think glaze might mess up the painting, but you would have to test it.
Do you find yourself reaching for distress inks as often as you did before the oxide inks came out?
hmmmm... i still use them but do use the oxides more for ink blending now.
Just wondering is there a reason you do not buy reinkers? What do you do when your ink pad starts to dry up?
i find most of the inks i use do not dry up quickly. therefore, no reinkers needed :)
Jennifer McGuire Ink I am fairly new ti card making. How long should an ink pad last? Thank you for your quick response. I love your cards. ;0)

What fixative do you use?

hi jenifer m from India your video was g8 but these material is not availabe here
I’m still new and still don’t know the difference between all the inks
here is an old video that still holds true. oxide inks aren't in there but they are like a combo of dye and pigment. ua-cam.com/video/BTfajhSHw3o/v-deo.html
My screen is showing your video very blurry at times. Don't think it's my computer, as everything else on page is ok. Thanks for this video.
it is clear for me - maybe try refreshing?
