A shoe that has actually been worn in for a couple of years now, the 1461 is finally broken in & I am happy to share some thoughts on overall quality & why you may want to consider it.

Nice. I was just gonna pick up the standard one, but the monos are so versatile. I may get the 1460 with the yellow stitching though.

what you think about the Solovair Gibson waxy / or 5 eye greasy Solovair vs 1461 Mono? I am digging this Common Projects and Prada Derbies look so bad, my best match so far are Solovair Waxy or Greasy or 1461 Mono . Are they comfortable to used it for work?
Hey I have not seen the solovair in person, but they are definitely considered quality at large! However the 1461 mono is definitely a Prada / Common Projects alt - as for comfort mine have broken in fairly well and are comfortable (if you wear for work presuming there’s more standing vs walking?). So I would rate them 8/10 comfort wise, if you walk under 2K in a day there shouldn’t be any issues. Hope this helps !
Hello, im curious to hear your opinion about the 1461 mono black with white stitches.
I cant decide what to get between these 3:
1461 black nappa (yellow stitch)
1461 mono black (just like yours in the video)
1461 mono black (white stitch)
It will be mainly for office work as i will be starting my corporate job soon.
Any thoughts is appreciated!
When in doubt, always all black!! I have not seen the white stitch one but I’m certain it can’t be as versatile. Black yellow is great has a charm but is a bit hipster too. Black is chic can easily dress up & down will look good also High shined.

@@Uno.minimalist btw did you have to size up? i wear size 9.5 and have size 9 on the regular 1461, but size 9 on the mono was too small
Hey I went true to size 44/ 11US - I figure as the last is different maybe half size folks can size up !! Also EU sizes are more accurate for me so when in doubt I’m 43.5 & I go 44 hope this helps
I dont understand what you said about the crack marks? Are the crack marks worse on the mono than standard 1461?
They are the same on every Doc Marten, as they are usually treated especially the smooth ones - will crack but you can reduce the effect provided you insert them shoe trees after each wear !

Haha, I suppose I did!! Mind you the creases will be prominent on this one as it’s the rather weird leather treatment of Docs
