- In this interview with Raaga, Flautist Naveen performs his popular songs on the flute, showcasing his talent. He also discusses his journey in the film industry, and his collaborations with some of the biggest names such as Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja and Isai Puyal A.R. Rahman.
Flautist Naveen speaks about his work with the legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, with whom he has collaborated on many film projects over the years. He says that he learned discipline from Ilaiyaraaja.
Naveen also talks about his collaborations with AR Rahman, noting that he has had the opportunity to work with the composer from Roja. He says that Rahman is a magical composer and gives his musicians the liberty to work.

Clearly, Raaga TV has an agenda here avoiding or slandering Ilayaraja with misleading, click-bait titles in every single video! SHAME, but then does it matter to these immoral channels when they are minting money with such cheap acts?! The answer is a big NO. The ANCHOR is as clueless about "patriotism" as he is about music! Why "raindrop falling on leaf sound" for "patriotic" climax?! And that too, Arr gives generic "hints", his musicians come up with various suggestions, and he immediately picks one of those, incorporates them into "his" music, give them "credits" as mere musicians, but people only know it as "his" music! Bombay is just another LOVE story with 2 leads of different religions falling for each other at first-sight, and elope to "Bombay" (WHY, ONLY because the riots were the NEWS back then!). Finally, Mani Ratnam realized towards the climax that "oh, where do I put in (FAUX) patriotism" and then inserts a 3-line advice by the wailing Arvind Swami at the climax AFTER which the rioters SUDDENLY change minds, quit riots and there you go, you have gained back the peaceful "Bombay" like before! Voila, now THAT is "patriotism"! Just like the faux-patriotic Roja!

Even then, it is Maestro ILAYARAJA who brought in various technologies even before Arr made his debut: 1. FIRST ASIAN to compose a Complete Symphony (1993) with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London. 2. First STEREO introduced in South India (Priya - 1978) 3. FIRST time Synthesizer was used in India (Punnagai Mannan - 1986) 4. FIRST Computerized music in INDIA (Vikram - 1987) and First time in INDIA to use SYMPHONY orchestra (GURU - 1997 Malayalam).
Don’t give misleading title. It’s cheap 3rd rate tactic. Have some basic decency and responsibility.

IR HELPED MSV during a lean phase in the late 80s, requested MSV he wanted to orchestrate his tunes and they worked together for 2 movies! IR ALSO CO-composed with the great Dakshinamurthy. TRUE HUMILITY! IR composed for FREE or Lesser compensation for MANY movies for directors: P. Vasu, Santhana Bharathi, Pratap Pothan, Mani Ratnam etc. IR was HUMBLE enough to say a LOT of times that he worked as assistant to GKV, that MSV's song was the turning point in his career, and CRS songs have inspired him to kick-start his interest in music. That is MORE THAN ENOUGH! He also funded the premise for Cine Musicians’ Union. He not only organized "EnnuLil MSV" concert to honor MSV, but also DONATED the proceeds to MSV's family, while others like Deva, Vidyasagar and Arr who usually take the name of MSV as their "mentor" just to avoid the name of IR, did NOTHING!
Rizrizzi, Whereas, 1. Arr NEVER acknowledged the fact that he worked under Ilayaraja for 7 years. 2. He put down all his predecessors on BBC interview that they used only Violin, Dholak and Flute, and that only he came in 1992 to save the "ailing music"! That is a LIE and ARRogance. 3. His right-hand Srinivasa Murthy said only Arr gave importance to orchestra and used musicians more; again a LIE when the truth is OTHERWISE. 4. He said it is not "quantity" that matters 5.
