The Lump in The Neck: A Swollen Lymph Node or Else?

  • To determine the type of mass in the neck, after physical examination, we firstly use an ultrasound device. The scanner can reliably and efficiently produce rough but consistent images of the mass's location and dimension but a more detailed and precise result (more costly and more radiation as well) is acquired from the different angles of images produced by the CT scan.
    Next, your doctor may need a tiny cellular sample using a FNAC from the diseased tissue to be examined under the microscope and will be needing tissue samples through core or open biopsy if the sample cells proved to be neoplastic.

      Mahin, I just recovered from 2 years of the same symptoms. To the point of my right carotid artery being pressed so hard it felt as if it would burst upon palpitation. The local area around it hurt so bad, every day. Focus about 1-2 lbs. of pressure to a central point on your carotid artery, hold that there for 10 months. Every minute of that time.
      This was my life. Bladder problems, my gut hurt at least once a week, swallowing food and simple gel capsule pills like Tylenol, was a fight because sometimes things would get stuck in my throat for minutes (not choking but stuck on the right side at the area). I would sleep 9 hours and still have no energy. Everything I did was pure willpower, like working or even walking some days. Just scary stuff. I'm 38 and was thinking of writing a will, etc.
      2 years of blood samples tested at the VA showed normal numbers. My so-called doctor at the VA said these words to me" Oh, yeah, you have swollen lymph nodes". And did NOTHING more.
      I thought I was just going to die eventually from whatever this was and pretty much just accepted that.
      I was very concerned, and frightened. But I voiced nothing of my fear, as my father recently had a major heart attack and was in recovery.
      The worst symptom, in my opinion anyway was this: If I traveled more than say, 8 miles from my home, I could not recall the path to return home. A GPS or another person was required. I was very nervous about that fact.
      I am a veteran of a foreign war. "Maybe I had contracted something terrible?" I asked myself.
      This was 4 years ongoing and progressively becoming worse.
      June 30th, 2020, my face had swollen while I was asleep.
      A family member scheduled a dentist appointment.
      I arrived at the dentist and had several scans and x-rays performed.
      Dr. Caroline Hall D.D.S. returned to me and said I had 5 teeth causing infection, and 3 of those infected teeth were into my sinus cavities, on both sides of my face.
      32 days of Amoxicillin 500mg and the teeth removed and I'm nearly 100% again. I can process thoughts normally, and things are clearing up day after day.
      Now I have so much energy that some family members have inquired about whether or not I am on illicit drugs. HAHAHA.
      Prayer helps the emotions, sure, but prayer won't kill some 300+ types of oral bacteria eating a human alive. Stop waiting. See someone that specializes in periodontal disease. If nothing else, to rule that out.
      I could guess that you probably do not have much energy for this fight, I didn't, but don't stop searching for actual help. I'm not implying that you have dental issue, but my doctor (a M.D. btw) never spoke one word of recommending a dental visit.

    Sir I have swollen lymph node on collarbone of size of an olive after 2 weeks and course of antibiotic it reduced up to 90 % but very small size like a chickpea is not there. Can It be cancerous?

    • @rosakdg
      @rosakdg 2 роки тому +3

      Get it checked! I don’t mean to scare you, but I had a similar situation. Thought it would be okay with time. But months later when I finally decided to go check it turns out I had what is lymph node tuberculosis. I was glad I found it early. Things could have gotten ugly. So go get checked and don’t waste time on the videos on UA-cam. Most of the videos claim that lymph node swelling is normal and they will go away with time but tuberculosis takes a long time to develop and might not show the usual symptoms.

    • @rosakdg
      @rosakdg 2 роки тому

      The fact that the lymph nodes got smaller with the antibiotics show that it’s probably due to bacteria which brings the high possibility that it’s tuberculosis

    What does it mean if you have a hard lump in the middle of your neck, just under your chin? Lymph node? Because I thought these were just to the sides?!
    It is quite painful and makes my neck tighter. I am very run down and it did seem to come up very quickly.

    Dang, everything is quick antibiotics or ✂️ ✂️, how about just stop grazing high carbs, processed foods, and stop snacking all day! Learn how the digestive system works with the lymphatic system so u ca see for yourself that every quality of bite of your food, the many times u eat and sleep, determines how your body responds overall. Even modern day docs are not tough to connect the dots between food and healing ourselves, this is sooo sad and terrible AS IT BRINGS UNNECESSARY DEATHS WHILE MAKING BIG PHARMA 🤑
