  • Back on sheep after a couple of months off. When we left off our last session, I was having a hard time catching Daisy after the session, she was starting to avoid me, with me not being very mobile she was becoming quite good at it! Not a habit I wanted her to perfect:( I was not100% sure if she was being plain naughty or if she just didn't understand that lie-down and stay meant lie down and stay.... I have to remember, I have been using my body language to get her to balance sheep to me and when walking towards her to give to my pressure, and every time I moved so did she. So, I set up a pen in the corner of the field that I could put the sheep in while I concentrated on catching Daisy. After a couple of times, she realized she couldn't beat me to the sheep and was quite happy to be caught. I will continue to catch her during her sessions this way until it is solid in her head. She should be a good "Penner' by the time we are done:) Note: The stupid trainer asked this nice young dog to outrun after running sheep on a fenceline that ended up in a bust and grip. I do know better. Sorry, Daisy.
