I still have my figures, I only have the original bridge crew set as the aliens are hard to find. I had the shuttle and phaser as well as the die cast Enterprise but since I played with my toys, they didn't fare to well. My dad had to spray paint the Enterprise because the paint chipped off and I lost both doors on the shuttle. I lost my Data when I was playing with him outside and I still don't know how it happened, I put him down and just couldn't find him. Fortunately a few years later I found another Data at a toy show and got him for $2. They had a shuttle as well but the guy wouldn't budge on the price which was to high. I saw the junkman's review and he showed the Enterprise play set, it looked really cool and its a shame they never produced it.
Great video! I collected all of these as a kid. Including the different versions of Data & the di cast metal Enterprise when they first came out. Also have the Mego motion picture ones as well. Including the motion picture Enterprise bridge playset. I still have all of them and kept them in great shape. It's nice to see these videos. It reminds me that I am still a kid at heart.
i hade them, not all of them but when gordi changed uniform I used model paint to color his uniform yellowish. I also colored in a beard on Riker. when they changed again in season 3, I cut belts from koda film to make it appear as a two piece uniform. lol
In uk we only got worf Geordi and Picard no others were released here but I did see bearded riker on a card back Iv still got 3 of the figures I bought them from a model kit shop
Nice, thorough review of the old TNG figures. I got Riker, the phaser and Enterprise for Christmas when I was ten years old. I didn’t really get into the show however until a few years later. I have since sought out most of this collection to add to my other Trek stuff!
@@kylekullin2520 It’s because the first two seasons had the follow Gene Roddenberry’s edict of “No Human Conflict/drama among the Enterprise crew,” which the writers hated. The first two seasons went through a ton of writers until season 3 started focusing on “character central stories.”
I saw them when I was a kid but the lack of articulation for them versus their competitors is why I never got any. If they would have made them like some of those GI Joes that had the torso articulation the ones that had that little O-Ring. I would have been ALL over them.
It was very Ballsy that Galoob would even take a chance on a series that MAY NOT last!!! At the time, these figures where beautifully sculpted and it is worth owning. They where not successful as GI Joe, Star Wars etc. But as a kid I wanted them and Data was my favorite character!!!! The flaws where the 4 alien characters(Ferengi,Q, Selay, Antican) where almost impossible to obtain let alone the yellow shirts(Data and Yar). Also to add both Wesley and Romulan was produced as prototypes but never produced!!!! If the line up was to cease, I wish they also included Lore, Traveler, Klingon, Bynar, Benzite and Armus as Season 1 line up. Fans hated Season 1 but there is a innocence about it and it started it all!!!
So true. I'm a MEGO Star Trek kid and was there for Star Trek TNG from show 1. These figures are really good, but just too much competition against them for them to succeed. Thanks for watching.
Great figures !!!!!!! mint in box condition, you took them off the card ???!!!!!! Haha wow I was surprised that you did that (1988) keep the great videos coming bro !!
Great video! I am trying to get all the mego 1979 3.75 aliens from the motion picture! This is a very tough thing to do! The Galoob aliens are certainly worth collecting? I do have a carded Data 😎 cool vid nice to see them all 😃
In some ways I like these Galoob figures better than the later Playmates ones. They didn't have the somewhat cartoonish face sculpts and the 90 degree leg articulation works better than the rotary cut IMHO.
What's the deal with speckled-face Data? He looks like he has a disease or paint wear. I got Riker on clearance at Kay Bee (I recall it was the last one in the store), but after the Playmates toys came out, these had almost no interest for me.
Those Galoob toys were my early exposure to Star Trek. I had the figures and the shuttlecraft and they got a lot of play.
Love these figure. Had them. I was too old though for it to be acceptable, like age 13. Had to sneak them. These Galoob figures were the best.
Loved these - still have several and couple MOC
I have these. And even customized my own bearded riker and engineering geordi, and recarded them both so it expands my collection.
Awesome comment. Thanks for watching.

I Did A Similar Thing With My Mego Star Trek Spock and Kirk. I Lost Them In A Hay field. Bummer. Thanks For Watching.
this was a fun and epic Star Trek video you need to do more Star Trek stuff
I'll try. But there're some great Star Trek videos on UA-cam already. Thanks for watching.

Very Nice Figures
Thank you Shawn.

Very cool!
There was a bridge set it had a transporter station on the bottom and planet environment on the side.
I had only the Enterprise-D, and figures Picard, Worf, Geordi, and Riker. I always liked the first 2 seasons of TNG. Good times.
I'm baffled why UA-camrs dislike the first two seasons. Entertaining to me.

@@CaptRicoSakara There are several episodes in the first two seasons that are good character pieces.
@@kylekullin2520 Yes, like Data’s origin in “Datalore.”
@@CaptRicoSakara Heart of Glory is a phenomenal Worf story.
I liked this video.
Thank You.
The white "fuzz" on the figure can be cleaned off with vinegar. The vinegar will remove all trace of the fuzz, but leave the plastic unharmed.
Great tip! Thanks for watching.

No loss of phasers in the shag carpet
Yep. But we have these figures to thank for Hipsters wearing Murses.
Hello John, what I’d like to see is the Playmate’s Star Trek Bridge inhabited by Galoob figures. Please make that a reality...
Maybe. Thanks for watching.
Honestly, these figures would sit in it better due to the way their legs are articulated.
@@user-do2ev2hr7h Totally correct right!?! I guess I need to make it happen. I need to get a Next Gen Playmate’s Bridge first.

Motion Picture Aliens have eluded me since their release. I'd love to get a set myself also. Thanks for watching.

Definitely better.
Are you the Food Wishes guy?
MAKE IT SO !
Thank you for watching Donald.
Are any of the variations of Lieutenant Data rarer or more valuable than the other?
Spotted Data is worth the most.
@@johnwild8336 Thank you 🙏
No Troi or Crusher either. So sad.
So sad. But most likely would be hard to find even if produced. We all know how boy toy companies distribute female figures. Thanks for watching.
@@johnwild8336 That's so true. The female figures are always the shorted figures. It is sad. Love your channel. Brings back some wonderful memories.

I'm sure they attempted to get the unusual makeup he wore in the show. Failed attempts.
