I have such fond memories of Crestwood House Monsters Books. My Father was into genealogy, so I visited lots of public libraries. These books were in every one of them. Kept me content during our visits.
Ha ha! I wonder why that intro reminds me of something...and those gloves... Thank you for being part of Bleak Sunday! I had most of these books as a kid, but surprisingly I did not have any of the Crestwood books. They're just about the only books in this video that I didn't either own, or repeatedly check out of the library. Not sure why the Crestwood series missed me. I never noticed Clifford in the How to Care for Your Monster book. That's a cute Easter egg. As I kid, I seriously longed for a pet monster, and I studied that book religiously to prepare for the day when I would have the opportunity. I really wanted the Mummy in that book. He was the cutest.
Thanks for the invite to participate. Glad you appreciated my "trick or treat" intro. I begged my parents for McKee's Movies Greatest Monsters book because I could only keep Crestwood House for two weeks at a time. Monster books led me down the path of searching out these Movies to view as an adult. Very proud of this collection of paperback Monsters books.
There were so many great monster and books about hauntings back when we were kids. Daniel Cohen wrote a lot of great books. I have a nice collection of paperbacks of his
Great video. Thomas Aylesworth’s book got me hooked on Monsters in first grade. I had all of Daniel Cohens books including that Star Trek one. It was the first place you could see the monster from Galileo 7! My kind of book fair!
Incredible video my friend. I remember being in elementary school in the early 90's on library day and racing to check out the Crestwood monster books. I've managed to get two of them in recent years, the Mad Scientist and the Mummy. I'd love to get more but they are pretty hard to come by.
Miss ur videos ,it’s true nothing staying the same and enjoy it while u can. Hope ur in good health and doing well ,anytime for come back will be welcomed.
most of my early yrs in school to sit down and read a book was almost impossible but 1975 5th grade the school would hand out book sale ordering pamflets and there for the 1st time I seen a book that caught my eyes "MOVIE MONSTERS BY THOMAS G. AYLESWORTH" in a short while which felt like for ever I received it and for the 1st time I wanted to read and know all that this book was about these cool monsters I enjoyed on late night TV ,I still hav my original book not in the best condition but a few yrs back I bought a new clean copy of it ,it would be again till 1976 I discovered FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILM LAND ,so monsters taught me to read better
The Crestwood books are a major reason I'm into all of this stuff today.
PS Loved the parody intro.
