One of the best compositions from one of the best bands around today. Miyako, the pianist/ guitarist writes most of the music while Asami (also an accomplished pianist, ballerina and jazz- and R&B singer) writes the lyrics. You will find a lot of classical influences because of the Miyako factor, but every member of this band are on top of their games. Haruna, the drummer is only 4 foot 9 inches tall, but huge in stature. My 10 pence for today :-) Greetings from Cape Town.

Led Zeppelin was my favorite band in 1971 and for decades I never thought I would place another band on that pedestal. Then came along Opeth in the early 2000's and I had only my 2nd favorite band ever. Now Lovebites. Only 3 bands in 50+ years have had that distinction with me. My two favorite tracks are both from this same concert, Five of a Kind: The Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath Break the Wall (pure Slayeresque thrash)
Miyako was composing and arranging the next new song for the band in her head while she was playing piano, then guitar and finally back to piano (Midori the other guitarist carried the long solo so she had time to return to the keys and fire away). Romantic masters mixed with metal influences and it was flowed effortlessly. Asami/vocals is an ex-ballerina student who got to show off her moves (didn't see the swan death scene as we were focused on Miyako on the piano at the end). The drummer Haruna is a runaway nuke who plays like this for 2 hours without breaking a sweat (she can give even Kai from Nightwish a run for his money and at 4' 9" is about half his size). WARNING... Haruna has a fanatical fan base within the WOLF-PACK so never ever say anything negative about her or they will find you and strap you to her kit for the next 2 hour show. A real masterpiece and these women practice till it is flawless, this isn't mere talent which is world class on display this is the relentless pursuit of perfection and the insane practice time devoted to that!!!!
Miyako Watanabe...has been playing & studying piano since the age of 3. Was going to make classical piano her career but picked up a guitar at 18, taught herself to play with a big influence being Gary Moore. Miyako composes, IDK....70% of their music with Haruna, Miho & Midori composing, contributing their own parts & Asami writes most of the lyrics, its a pretty good team !!❤😎🎸🎹🥁🎙👌
Actually, it reminded me most of mid-period Rainbow, like something off Difficult to Cure, except that in Rainbow it took a world-class guitarist and a world-class keyboardist to deliver what Miyako delivers on her own.
Guys, their latest live songs Set The World On Fire, Dont Bite The Dust, Spellbound(Miyako shreddd the sling keyboard/keytar), Today Is The Day(vocalist played the piano), Winds Of Transylvania...
Miyako began piano at 3, on was track to be a classical pianist or teacher. But at 17/18 she decided to play guitar (no Lessons) and perform Rock/Metal music. She wrote "Swan Song" with Asami (vocals) writing the lyrics. Miho (bassist) has left the band due to the death of her father, so they are on hiatus for now. On a more upbeat note Asami has announced the she is getting married!!! How about a new band? Nemophila, start with "Monsters" then follow with "Dissension". All the members came from other bands so they are referred to as a "supergroup". You will need a seatbelt for Dissension.
@@TheThamesmen I second the recommendation of Nemophila and the song Monsters as the best one to start with. For the song Dissension, you have the choice of the music video or the 2021 live performance at Naon Yaon. I personally prefer the live video. They also have performed a lot of covers, my favorite being their cover of Iron Maiden's Aces High. All can be found on their UA-cam Channel.
LOVEBITES Miyako, Midori, Haruna, Asami, (Miho💔😭) awesome musicians, awesome band, awesome songs I love them, I have been out for 5 years and I have only discovered them for 2 months I lost a lot of time
Lovebites revived the passion of metalheads. I bought black t-shirts with prints and I'm also going to buy a guitar. I have the same enthusiasm as the 80s now!
These ladies are amazingly talented. Imagine dating any of them, you better not be in band as well. Because those ladies can outshine every dude that they come across.
👸 Haruna....the Little BIG ENGINE behind that savage Pearl kit 🔥 Doesn't do solos, doesn't need to. Humble and unassuming...the absolute epitome of how to service the band. She's got nothing to prove to anyone. 🥁🏆
Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude" Op. 10 No. 12 came out at the time of the failed uprising in Warsaw Poland in 1831 against the Russian occupiers. Chopin would never sat foot in his beloved homeland after. The Etude is NOT on the album for this song. However, Miyako bookends etude with her own composed piano outro at this live set (she wrote the song). Because if you read the lyrics, you will understand why she played it. Lyrics by Asami (vocals) "Oh, brave soldiers, oh, gallant warriors, Valore to those who died in battle to Valhalla. Believe what's in your soul, For death will come to all, You shall rest peacefully in God's Heaven." "You might think it's meaningless to sacrifice a life, Sometimes the life of one can save so many more" As Europeans you may understand, I think if they played this in Poland, they would absolutely go crazy. Chopin pervades the life of Poland. This whole song is based on classical music.
One of my favorite videos of beloved Miyako is of her by herself covering the late, great Gary Moore's "Parisienne Walkways." Gary is one of Miyako's favorite guitarists, and she's covered it on both piano and guitar. Here's a link to the guitar version. I'm not requesting a reaction to it, but hey, if that's what you want to do, by all means! ua-cam.com/video/bMmkDttnR7k/v-deo.html
It's funny how the old mind works sometimes. After your last Lovebites reaction I was thinking there were shades of Arch Enemy in there, albeit with clean rather than growly vocals, then they do this and you're commenting how they remind you of some old British metal, and of course Arch Enemy came in part out of Carcass who had a "farewell" (ish, didn't last long) album called, Swansong. Check out "Arch Enemy Nemesis Live in Tokyo".
Glad you chaps finally got around to covering this one - I, (along with Funny Railroad Crossing) suggested it a while back. Very talented ladies indeed! I do agree with the Saxon thing - I'm not sure old Biff would be able to keep up with these ladies though 😉. Great reaction chaps as always - btw, I am very much looking forward to what you have planned for Nightwish in the not too distant future? Also totally gutted this week, Nightwish postponed one of the gigs I was going to in Birmingham - but strangely, the Wembley one in December is still on! Take good care of yourselves 😃
Hi HT. Sorry to hear the gig is not happening hopefully Wembley will still go ahead. Maybe you can report back to us once you’ve seen the show. Would love to hear how they are doing. Thanks for the recommendation on this song I’m sorry we did not credit you as well!
@@TheThamesmen I'd be delighted to report back to you both - it should go ahead - everyone in attendance has to show proof of negative tests or being fully vaccinated etc. I'm just happy to put you on to talented bands such as Lovebites. I noticed you've covered Bandmaid - but I promise you....'Babymetal' are the real deal too! Would have loved you to have gone on a journey with them - they have recently come to a closure (for now) but I realise with your style of reaction -( from start to finish) would be problematic for you with them for reasons of copyright. It is a pity as you're not only talking about some of the best musicians in the world but the girls too. The snobbery of the rock/metal fraternity totally misunderstand the concept. I've bored you to tears I know my fellow men of the mighty Thames, but Babymetal just make you 😃 smile - what could be wrong with that!
This was very impressive. It really does have a British metal feel to it. My only problem was I kept thinking I could pick out words but I don't speak Japanese. I've notice bangers vary wildly between volcanoes and sausages, how long til we have a lava snag? More please!
Or we try cooking sausages with lava! [Was that what you mean]. There is a British metal feel to it for sure. Nothing wrong with that we grew up on British metal
Every single word was English. The more you listen to her the more you get used to her accent, inflection, and enunciation. Over time I now hear every word clearly in this song.
That was the first song I heard from Lovebites 1 year ago And a huge fan ever since Every song is just great Miyako (black hair guitarist) has been playing piano since she was 3 her nickname is The Golden Touch Haruna (Little Big Engine The Drummer) Miho(Bass her Nickname is Natural Headbanger Asami (Singer "The Voice) Midori (Blonde Hair "Mrs Shreder of Shredders)
Miyako played on a white Roland's electronic piano for the first time in this live. So she said that she had a hard time because it was very hard to play. It was not a satisfactory performance for her. (It sounds great to me😅) In my most recent live performance, I switched to a real grand piano, and this performance is still much better. It expresses the ups and downs of emotions more and has a different dimension from an electronic piano. You can see a little bit of it in the official trailer video of the live dvd, so check it out.
@@TheThamesmen There is a video on UA-cam where Miyako is showing off her new studio. In the studio is the Yamaha Baby Grand that she was given by her family when she was young. She didn't like the plastic keys so she used her own gift money that she had been saving to replace the plastic with wood. She didn't like the Roland because it had plastic keys and, since it is a keyboard, didn't have the percussion feel and slight delay of a grand piano. I would love to hear her play the Chopin piece on a grand piano.
Hello, thank you for the video. I advise you to make, if you haven't done it yet, a reaction to the wonderful young singer Diana Ankudinova. This girl will surprise you with her artistry and rare timbre of voice. She has covers of famous songs, and also performs her own songs.
After this you might be open for a Jinjer reaction. They are at this moment one of the most innovative, groundbreaking metalbands in the world. Not from Japan or Finland but from warzone Ukraine (of all places). They are touring the USA now and maybe are in your neigbourhood at this moment. All four members are top notch musicians with a very distinctive style. They went viral on YT with ' Pisces live sessions' together with 'Ghost love score' from Nightwish but have a very different approach. The nice thing is that although they are considered as a world class band they are still doing small venues just around the corner with not to many lights and props. Maybe it's a challenge first time, but so many people from different backgrounds were shocked, but very intrigued within one or two songs. live they are at their best. At first sight it was not my cup of thea but that changed rapidly. I hope you consider them some time.
@@TheThamesmen If you react to Jinjer, I hope there are seatbelts on your chairs. Tatiana Shmayluk, the singer for Jinjer, is not on the level of Floor, but she is damn close.
@@danw6048 It's at least a totally different straight in the face level. And that drummer, a real jazz-cat, one of the best I guess. The controversial 'Pisces live studio version' raised some questions but their catalogue is so impressive and convincing that I understand and like it a lot now. Never thought that would be.....

Mysterious female "MIYAKO" MIYAKO characters are often talked about. (1) Is MIYAKO who doesn't laugh true? There is a testimony of member A about this. "When I see MIYAKO when it's not in the spotlight, she sometimes sees her smiling face, which makes me feel happy." (2) MIYAKO not wearing high heels MIYAKO has been witnessed not wearing high heels on stage. "She was pregnant on this year's tour. That's why." "She sometimes plays the piano on stage. Her heels are in the way." There is a testimony of member A about this. "Let's decide on high heels, everyone" "OK!" "Wait a minute. MIYAKO is no good!" "Why?" "MIYAKO is tall. She thinks about other members!" "hahahaha ..." There is a hypothesis that MIYAKO, who is kind to her, continues to be considerate of her other members. (Facts could not be confirmed) (3) MIYAKO whose behavior is unpredictable There is a testimony of member A about this. "Everyone, the live costume is white." "OK!" However, on the day of the concert, MIYAKO brought black shoes. "What happened to MIYAKO?" "What's that ???" "hahahaha ..." I verified the video of LOVEBITES's European tour. Absolutely agree with you guys; these gals have amazing talent. Question though: were any of them actually having any fun? To my eyes, they looked disinterested; perhaps they were questioning why the heck their manager forced them to wear uncomfortable prom dresses with heels?
Of course they are having fun. This is a more mellow song, so why would they jump across the stage? But there are plenty of other songs where they are more animated. Also their dresses aren't forced upon them. They intentionally wear white. It's part of their image.
i don't get this jumping around stuff, there music is very fast, complex, and complicated, if you want a clown show try green day, fall out boy or any pop punk, the 3 chord stuff, then they can bounce around all day. did you complain about Pink Floyd, led Zeppelin, deep purple, Judas Priest, the list goes on, , and this is not a direct comparison, just pointing out the double standard.

LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth
Would you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful

They make it look so easy
One of the best compositions from one of the best bands around today. Miyako, the pianist/ guitarist writes most of the music while Asami (also an accomplished pianist, ballerina and jazz- and R&B singer) writes the lyrics. You will find a lot of classical influences because of the Miyako factor, but every member of this band are on top of their games. Haruna, the drummer is only 4 foot 9 inches tall, but huge in stature. My 10 pence for today :-) Greetings from Cape Town.
We love the fact we get messages from all over the world. Hello Cape Town hear it is a beautiful part of the world. Thanks for the updates and notes
Miho typically wrote the lyrics and/or music for about 1/4 of any given EP or album.
The most famous hit of the king of rock 'n' roll in an unrivaled performance.
Gorgeous, phenomenal performance by Diana

Please react to Diana Ankudinova !
She has insane and unique vocals and great stage presence and her performances (from the show You are Super ! ( win twice ) are gorgeously choreographed and you should find them very interesting. Top song choices are up Wicked Game, Derniere Danse, Blizzard, Human, River. She is really an amazing young artist!

Yes, Diana Ankudinova is a great vocalist.
*Diana* *Ankudinova* is a phenomenon! Shocked to the depths of my soul!
saw them live a couple years ago they were touring with Dragonforce (similar music style)
That must’ve been a fun time
Led Zeppelin was my favorite band in 1971 and for decades I never thought I would place another band on that pedestal. Then came along Opeth in the early 2000's and I had only my 2nd favorite band ever. Now Lovebites. Only 3 bands in 50+ years have had that distinction with me.
My two favorite tracks are both from this same concert, Five of a Kind:
The Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath
Break the Wall (pure Slayeresque thrash)
Nice! Thanks for the tips. Thanks for the support
It certainly shows that they practice as they are incredibly tight and well performed
Right. You can say anything about everything but you never touch Haruna. She is the mother of all things.
HARUNA! HARUNA! HARUNA! 😊
@@coldburrito5818 - actually she is. She and Miho started the whole thing called Lovebites.
One hell of a team and they play great together
Actually, it reminded me most of mid-period Rainbow, like something off Difficult to Cure, except that in Rainbow it took a world-class guitarist and a world-class keyboardist to deliver what Miyako delivers on her own.
Yes I can see the rainbow influence. There was definitely some Saxon in there though
This band name keeps coming up. I reckon we should check them out
@@TheThamesmen I second the recommendation of Nemophila and the song Monsters as the best one to start with. For the song Dissension, you have the choice of the music video or the 2021 live performance at Naon Yaon. I personally prefer the live video. They also have performed a lot of covers, my favorite being their cover of Iron Maiden's Aces High. All can be found on their UA-cam Channel.
LOVEBITES
Miyako, Midori, Haruna, Asami, (Miho💔😭)
awesome musicians, awesome band, awesome songs
I love them,
I have been out for 5 years and I have only discovered them for 2 months
I lost a lot of time
Hey we are still discovering bands from 40 years ago! The fun of music always something new to discover
@@TheThamesmen 👍right!, new member you are funny, greetings from Italy
Lovebites and Band Maid, only two bands I listen to at the moment !!!
I can see why!
Great you come back to Lovebites! Amazing band!! this metal/classical mix is just a gorgeous composition! Glad you guys enjoyed it! 🤘🙂🐺
Our pleasure!
Lovebites revived the passion of metalheads. I bought black t-shirts with prints and I'm also going to buy a guitar. I have the same enthusiasm as the 80s now!
It is really interesting how many people make a similar comment. They seem to have hit the right Mark
Good to see you have Lovebites back on your radar. 🤘
We get there in the end!
Miyako plays Frédéric Chopin as if it were a ditty ! Outstanding !
Ridiculous talent!
By far the best cover of the great Gary Moore, close your eyes when you listen to it and you would swear you put on Gary!!!
No I don’t know anything about arch enemy! Maybe a path to check out?
EVERY SONG IS GREAT.

Welcome and thanks for being here
Glad you chaps finally got around to covering this one - I, (along with Funny Railroad Crossing) suggested it a while back.
I've bored you to tears I know my fellow men of the mighty Thames, but Babymetal just make you 😃 smile - what could be wrong with that!
and after all that i meant to say another great reaction to yet another perfect LOVEBITES song
All Lovebites songs are 100% English.
Enable CC on the original video and you can match the words to her voice. They are all in English.

Hi Performance seemed fine to me too! That said a real grand piano does have a sound and feeling it is hard to beat
You guys needed to turn on the subtitles of this song because the lyrics of this song are so beautiful and touching, very profound.
Sorry - next time
Next song I will vote for "Lovebites - Frozen Serenade."
How about you guys ?
I completely agree with you 👍
Same here, buddy.

Hello, thank you for the video. I advise you to make, if you haven't done it yet, a reaction to the wonderful young singer Diana Ankudinova. This girl will surprise you with her artistry and rare timbre of voice. She has covers of famous songs, and also performs her own songs.
Thank you for the advice we appreciate it
After this you might be open for a Jinjer reaction.
It is the name keeps coming up so maybe we should check them out. Thank you
@@TheThamesmen If you react to Jinjer, I hope there are seatbelts on your chairs.

Mysterious female "MIYAKO"
MIYAKO characters are often talked about.
(1) Is MIYAKO who doesn't laugh true?
There is a testimony of member A about this.
"When I see MIYAKO when it's not in the spotlight, she sometimes sees her smiling face, which makes me feel happy."
(2) MIYAKO not wearing high heels
MIYAKO has been witnessed not wearing high heels on stage.
"She was pregnant on this year's tour. That's why."
"She sometimes plays the piano on stage. Her heels are in the way."
There is a testimony of member A about this.
"Let's decide on high heels, everyone"
"OK!"
"Wait a minute. MIYAKO is no good!"
"Why?"
"MIYAKO is tall. She thinks about other members!"
"hahahaha ..."
There is a hypothesis that MIYAKO, who is kind to her, continues to be considerate of her other members. (Facts could not be confirmed)
(3) MIYAKO whose behavior is unpredictable
There is a testimony of member A about this.
"Everyone, the live costume is white."
"OK!"
However, on the day of the concert, MIYAKO brought black shoes.
"What happened to MIYAKO?"
"What's that ???"
"hahahaha ..."
I verified the video of LOVEBITES's European tour.
Only MIYAKO is seen wearing black boots there.
Was it an incident at that time?

There was zero movement or even any form of acceptance towards the crowd. In my wprld, thats a job badly done. And if you like the music, good on you. It was good. But very clearly with lot of post production. So there was no entertainment and the music was corrected. Its all fine, if you like that. Good on you. I don't.
