Your joy in doing your road trips and meeting other EV owners and experiencing life is wonderful to watch! Too many channels focus on the challenges and they seem to let those challenges ruin the adventure of a road trip...
Really like to see charging stations in handicap parking spots. So often disabilities are overlooked, so it's great to see there's a consideration for those individuals since it's a hike at normal charger locations. Now we just need to get to the point where people are considerate of these spots even if they have a handicap plate/placard
Or we will join one of your Zero Runs! BTW... I just added the link to the description, but if anyone else wants the shirt, it is available here: fthepump.com/apparel-and-lifestyle
What’s the car scanner app? Question do you use the 1 pedal drive all the time or at all? Another question when you say 2.1 kWh/mile is there a sweet spot to try to get to?
Queues are just a symptom of to few chargers... so there is no future in building a queue system, because as soon as your charging infrastructure reach a certain point a queue system is pointless (its already pointless most hours every day)... imagine a future where every gas station today has 4 or more 350kw chargers also. AFAIK Gas station network was not build in a single decade also :)
Hey you two. Is there a particular speed to travel that gets you the BEST possible range? Is it like 50, 55 miles/hr, 57, 59, 60, 62? When I see the Mach E on the road, I get excited. If we are in traffic, I roll down my window, make contact, and ask how they like it. Everyone has told me that they absolutely love it and has not experienced a single issue with it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I haven't done any testing to get an accurate measurement, but I do know that 80 mph kills the efficiency compared to 65 mph. Over all, it feels like about 70 mph is the sweet spot for making good time and efficiency, but going through the desert the speed limit was mostly 75 or 80 mph.
@@MachE_VLOG Wow. Thanks for the response. If you travel the same route often, you should punch the speed at a certain number each time, and try to maintain that speed. Then find out what is the exact number. This is a long one .... still watching .... 16 more minutes to go.
Back in the old days I watched Tesla Bjørn and it had been the case that about 27 mph is the optimal speed for an EV. He would take cars out on back roads and drive them so long, he stopped that thankfully many years ago as it doesn’t really matter as no one drives that speed. I agree that at above 70 and especially near 80mph the Bolt EV would have horrible efficiency. I now have a Taycan and allegedly I could say even at 85mph it’s efficiency is quite good for it, about 340wh/mile. So it’s a lot to do with aerodynamics, you will generally see better mileage in city driving an EV.
I have a First Edition, and since you came from a First Edition and now have a GTPE, how do the seats compare for road trips? I'm considering a GTPE as my next Mach-E so was curious if the seats are as comfortable especially for long trips
It is a bit of a trade off. The seats are firmer but overall I think they are more comfortable. Add in the smoother ride with MagneRide, and it is really comfortable.
Is there a better way to get to the predicted state of charge at your next destination in Ford Nav? Navigating through the 3 trip details menus while driving is a bit daunting.
Greetings from the UK, loving the content. Just taken delivery of RWD SR MME with Tech+ pack in black, ordered in Dec 21. Had it 3 weeks put 2k miles on it, loving 95% of it, hating the range in the cold conditions, but that's the same for all EVs I guess. Charging over here is so far behind the US, with motorway service stns only having 1 or 2 50KW chargers, new 350KW ones are being built slowly, but these are very busy and you usually have to queue. You brought up a valid point earlier in the video about queuing waiting to charge, most people over here will work out who is in front of them, but you still get the entitled people that try and push in. There is a gap in the market for a virtual queuing system, maybe as simple as a screen next to chargers to register that you are waiting? Has anything been introduced in the US for this?
Line stress - Lucid driver comes up to me (I am in our Leaf, not the Mach-e) repeatedly saying that he was next. He was clueless. So how do you handle the situation where you are waiting for one particular charger at EA?
Mike, it's worse over in UK with limited amounts of chargers and a big increase in EV owner's. I've had this happen, whilst waiting, especially with new EV owners that are not used to waiting. The only way I can see this being managed is a virtual queuing system at the location, a screen with an app, or a simple whiteboard and marker pen! I would love to see a universal app to do this in the long term. Rule of thumb in these situations is to stay safe don't get heated, I have witnessed a fight at charging stations in my 3 weeks of ownership, over who was next. Crazy world

Love it! - Liv
NON related question? How to get trip planned in Fordpass to show up in Mach E? I never see mine .

Was your first stop at the Brea Mall. If so, this place is full every time if stopped here.
It was at the Target in Diamond Bar.
Looked like a Volt was blocking the charger

When would be the next meet up at San Diego 😊
