My family bought a 2008 Chevy Equinox at around 100,000 miles. Had the oil consumption issue, but around 190k it just stopped doing it? Idk if it's possible for a problem to fix itself but I wasn't having to put oil in it anymore. I've had to replace the small plug that drains the coolant below the car. It had broken the day before I moved to college And no one noticed it till we were on the interstate... The issue was caused when a O ring had busted. Simple fix, just used a Chrysler plug and never had the issue again. A year later had to replace the thermostat. It had went out randomly, but didn't affect anything really except for gas consumption. It had an evap leak, but all cars get that unless they're sheltered in a garage. And at 220k miles all I needed to do was replace the struts and wheel bearings. Honestly I miss it, I wish I had been paying attention the day I wrecked it and had not been taking it for granted before then

I have a 2014 Equinox with 75k on it. It has the v6 and awd. The car is solid as a rock. Engine is smooth, no rattles or squeaks. I bought it for a song from my company when I retired and it's been one of the best cars I've ever owned. I think most of the engine problems in Equinoxes are the 4 cylinder which are underpowered for the weight of the car and finally fall apart from having to work too hard.
