I know those things are absolute dumpster fires, but that's only 43,000 miles. How does a vehicle go through 3-4 engines in such short time. I don't know though, it's a Chevy, it's entirely possible I guess.
My 2011 equinox engine went out, 4 cylinder. Was 4 years old when I got it, engine lasted 5 years total. Wasn't payed off yet as we had it one year so I had to spend 5k for another engine. Could instantly tell a difference. Been great last 3 years

@Grieg Ragen my people lol
Got a 2008 aspen with 127,000 on it and it runs amazing and everything still works! Only problem is that it avg’s 10.5 mpg around town with the 5.7 hemi in it
Love my 08 Aspen 4.7. 240000 and counting.
Owned my 2012 Equinox for almost two years and it has 80k miles.. I’ve already put over $6,000 worth of work into it. Would have been more if I didn’t buy the extended warranty to go with it! 😖 I wish I would have known how awful it was before I bought it..
My neighbor bought one 2 years ago in the summer by winter the engine was knocking.. Every year her engine knocks, hell it's knocking right now as she's pulling up
My family bought a 2008 Chevy Equinox at around 100,000 miles. Had the oil consumption issue, but around 190k it just stopped doing it? Idk if it's possible for a problem to fix itself but I wasn't having to put oil in it anymore. I've had to replace the small plug that drains the coolant below the car. It had broken the day before I moved to college And no one noticed it till we were on the interstate... The issue was caused when a O ring had busted. Simple fix, just used a Chrysler plug and never had the issue again. A year later had to replace the thermostat. It had went out randomly, but didn't affect anything really except for gas consumption. It had an evap leak, but all cars get that unless they're sheltered in a garage. And at 220k miles all I needed to do was replace the struts and wheel bearings. Honestly I miss it, I wish I had been paying attention the day I wrecked it and had not been taking it for granted before then
@steven miller must be nice 😭 we just traded ours in just before 100k miles after putting in another $3,000 worth of work last summer and fall.
Isn't it awful the prize we pay they should at least be dependable.
I'm quite surprised that Range Rover didn't make it into the list
Marcus I agree
I have an 07 LR3 with 200k and believe it or not it’s only needed wear items, a new air compressor, and O2 sensors to keep it on the road. With that being said the wear items are quite expensive and don’t last all that long.

I'm willing to bet that the Jaguar F-Pace will be pretty bad too.
Basically buy any Italian or British car if you want to get to know your mechanic better.
I heard the F Pace was decent.
@@dontelindsey5846 The F Pace is great to drive. It's just unreliable. If you don't care about that--and I guess that most Jaguar owners must not--than it's fine otherwise. But I wouldn't expect Toyota-like reliability.
😁😁😁😁😁
Ummm where have you been? Jaguar for at least a decade has been Indian 🇮🇳 , not British, and way more reliable!
@@drewrobertson6286 Jaguar was owned by Tata (from India) from 2008-2012, but they were still made in the UK. In 2013, they sold Jaguar to Land Rover, and they are now a part of that same company (which is why the F-Pace and some Range Rovers share a platform). They have never been made outside of the UK.
Jaguar reliability has not improved, and being part of Land Rover certainly wouldn't give me any confidence.
Forget these suvs, im loving my 98 honda crv 5 speed! Hell, it comes with a picnic table disguised as a spare tire cover!
Before watching this I figured it would be two GM, two FCA, and a Nissan... Scotty's usual whipping boys. Got 4/5 correct 😁
I own a Chrysler Aspen. It has over 250km(on Quebec Canada roads) and there is no problem engine wise. neither with rain issues..
I got a peach out of the lemon basket. I'm proud of that truck,
I can't say otherwise for the other owners of Aspens. If you're *a truck guru I'd say put a demon package in one of these and keep the lights on for the next 30 odd years until another Aspen badged Chrysler takes form from the ashes.

Good to know ,SUVs always scared me as being slinkies in a box. If you drive one,get a safe one.

My father in law bought a 2012 equinox, didn’t reach 100k before sputtering out and major issues....and what does he do? He buys a 2019 equinox....smh not sure why he won’t listen to reason there but such is life
@@Chyllbacca My grandma's Terrain needed an engine rebuild after 60K miles because it drank all of it's oil down to the last drop. What does she do when she goes and looks for new cars? Goes and test drives an Equinox 😂😂 I begged her not to and she ended up with a much nicer, more reliable CX-5.
My dad's Aspen is working fine to this day over 150k miles. Several things have gone wrong, but we got a lifetime warranty, so it's been pretty good

I own a 2005 Durango LTD with 5.7L Hemi. Bought used with 145K orig. miles. Regular service schedule only and it’s tipping 270k mi with no issues. Hell, I even accidentally drove it a few hundred miles without an air filter installed (the after market K&N filter head came unbolted) and that beast still runs strong. My buddies Nissan Titan fell apart at around 170K.
I love my Ford Explorer its got 286000 and still going strong!🇺🇸❤💪🤘

I have a Lincoln Navigator running really good on 400K miles
Hey Scotty, enjoy your videos, we had a 2008 Chrysler Aspen, 145,000 miles on it, my wife loved it, 4 by 4 would go anywhere. As far as major problems just your usually wear and tear, people in Wisconsin must value their vehicles better than Texas.
My mom has had hers since 2008, 85,000 miles and it’s been super reliable with no major problems. Scotty likes to get one example and run with it. We live in Texas and the Aspen is garage kept.. so maybe that’s why it’s still running really good.
Ours is at 190k, and been great for the most part
Love my 08 Aspen 4.7. 240000 and counting. Quality vehicle!
2003 Ford Expedition 266K. Got it w 13 miles on it for my wife on Mother's Day. Still running strong!

Yep, I have a 2017.5 Nissan Murano SV. Has 34,000 miles, still under factory warranty and the transmission sucks! You can push the accelerator to the floor and it does nothing. It revs the motor but the transmission won't downshift and engage. It won't store trouble codes in the computer so Nissan dealership says they can't do a thing without trouble codes. It is aggravating beyond belief!! CVT transmissions are horrible!

We have an 05 Equinox still too, purchased it new! It has 210,988 miles on it and my wife uses it now as the 'baby-mobile" around the city. Still has the original engine, trans., alternator, AC compressor, etc. Only two issues recently. Wiper switch burned, easy fix. Not so easy fix... transmission cooler line rusted out and started leaking, part not available from GMC anymore. Needed to fabricate new lines. DONE! The garage that services my cars told me that the new Equinox are JUNK, after the 05-08 run they went from excellent to terrible. All options in ti still work too, no rust either! Hello Scotty! A Jeep Renegade is a FIAT 500L (with a different body)
Close. It's a Fiat 500X with a different body.
@@ChickenC0re Well The FCA Parts Catalog designates the BG Body (500L) the BU Body is the Jeep Renegade. The 500X is the smaller car. L is for LARGE. The 500X is an FB body Oddly the Fiat Spyder has BA designation. It might be related also.

Scotty, love your videos and respect your opinions most of the time. I just wanted to say I own a 2008 Chrysler Aspen 4.7L with 241,000 miles on it and counting. Chrysler products would be great if they were only reliable. Ram tucks are beautiful and jeeps and cool as heck!
All the dodges I have owned lasted me well into the 200k mile range. Ended up selling them but never had an issue. Even the 2001 Durango I had got flooded up to the headlights. Removed the water and it still ran like a champ for another 4 years until I sold it. I've always liked Chevy and Dodge.
@Steve Silvas how do you think Jeeps are Italian...hahahaha...

I bought it for a song from my company when I retired and it's been one of the best cars I've ever owned.
