- I have always wanted to go to Switzerland, I guess this will have to do! Located in Ouray Colorado the Switzerland of America is home to under 1000 people. With beautiful mountains surrounding this small town, it holds tons of things to do like Cascade falls, Box Canyon, and one thing specifically the Red Mountain pass. Known to be one of the deadliest roads in North America, it sure is an adrenaline-packed drive in the winter. Make sure to check out local breweries like Ouray Brewery and stop in to watch ice climbing in the winter!

I am glad you enjoyed the road trip. I have been on that highway, and it is nerve racking. I have thought about moving to Grand Junction before, I think it is a nice town. Wow, looks absolutely amazing! We've been to "Little Switzerland" in the mountains of North Carolina, but Colorado's seems to be much larger in size. Beautiful footage and well documented day. Keep it up!

Awwe. Out here in Midway, Utah was also built by a Swiss community. It's also referred to as the Switzerland of America haha. Who would have known. They even have Swiss Days and all. All the older homes and places like Blue Boar Inn still have the old Swiss style build to them. It's absolutely beautiful. But this place also looks amazing. I must visit!

I’ve lived in montrose most of my life! I love Ouray!! Red mountain pass is amazing! the box canyon is a spectacular site. Imogene pass is one of the coolest rides in the summer, it’s a 13000 foot above sea level ride it’s gorgeous!

Did you go up over the Imogen pass? They do a run every September. It starts at Ouray up the pass to Telluride. My friends have done that run for years. The million dollar highway sucks even in the summer! I hate that road. Hope you made it to the museum in Telluride, there it says Ouray came from Taos, NM when he was younger.

Those roads looked ok compared to the ones I drove around on Tenerife (canary islands) going up zig zag at sharp angles and a drop of 10,000 feet they really squeaked my b end .
