Hey man, thanks for all the civic content! Just put a down payment on a 2.0 6MT in white. Arrived on the lot and within an hour three people tried to buy sight unseen. I’ve been using Amsoil in my bmw, probably will pony up for the Honda. Really looking forward to a less needy daily driver. Love your videos, the practical mods really appeal to me!
I am continuing to be amazed at how many people can't find the 6MT because dealers say they don't sell well, so they don't order them. The same dealers also state they can't keep one in stock because they are so rare, they sell immediately . Makes no sense.
That's the same color I got, in April! I was almost sure it would be my last chance (no-turbo, no direct injection, manual transmission), and now we know I was right. Yeah, dealers will say whatever they need to say to make the maximum amount of money. They don't sell when that helps them, and they sell like hotcakes when that helps them. I've been an AMSOIL preferred customer for years. I do everything myself, so the extra cost isn't a big deal. Swapped to 16x7 RPF1's and sold the ridiculously heavy stock wheel set. Other than PPF (self-install) and tint (Ceramic), I swapped to Mega-LiFe battery (doesn't fit without modification) and PRL rear motor mount. Tempted to get Idlestopper V2. Hope to keep it in tip top shape until I die.
@@catsspatI switched to RFP1s as well with continental DW06 235/45/17. Acceleration, ride, and road noise is so much better than the stock wheels & tires. I went with the cheap Amazon version of idle stopper it’s been working flawlessly for the 12000 miles I have on the car currently.
Nice video. I’ve done this a couple of times myself with my new 2.0L Civic. Extra tip for those that may be new to oil changes, be sure to check that the old oil filter gasket is not stuck to the engine before placing the new one on - this will cause an improper seal and could drain your oil from around your filter.
I used to work for Honda and their oil capacities for the 4cyl engines were typically underrated by 0.2-0.3 quarts. Interestingly the 6cyl oil capacities were always spot on at the top of the dipstick. 🤷♂️
I do a bit of towing with my 2010 civic so I have always done my own oil changes at 5000 km. The recommended interval on my 2024 CX-5 is 12000 km. Not gonna happen, I did a break in change at 1000 km and it will be 5000 km thereafter. My Miata gets a change every 3000 km, mainly cuz that's all I put on it in a season. Cool digital dash, just not a big fan of no heat gauge.
I did my first oil and oil filter change at 950 miles when I had a new 6 MT 2024 civic sport just like yours, I had it done that soon since there can be some minor residual tiny debris that could come loose from manufacturing after the engine begins its life. For the second oil change and first tire rotation I took it to the local Honda dealer 6 months after I bought the car. I did the same first break oil and oil filter change two weeks ago on my new 2024 Nissan Versa S 5 MT at 903 miles. I had a stock of Premium guard extended life oil filters that I bought for the Honda and to my surprise they also fit the Versa as well.
K-tuner Video please please please 🙏🙏. Maybe it can fix the whole issue with rpm lag when shifting, fix the throttle delay without the need of pedal commander, and it could possibly make the engine actually engine break properly. It would also make it a really fun daily specially since you've mentioned you drive backroads to work and back home. Thank you for making such great and detailed videos for the last naturally aspirated manual Honda will offer 🤝
Can you also do a video on when using 5w-20 or even 5w-30 and 10w-30 edge to see if t makes a difference in power or mpg and how efficient they are in cold and hot temperatures even though 10w-30 is usually better for summer being Mos duro. There's a youtuber with a nsx that tracks it as a daily he uses 10w-30 edge high mileage
I replaced all the splash shield screws with 10mm bolts with integrated washers. Also a big fan of castrol, all I use. I use wix xp or Purolator boss filters though. This is on my 10th gen civic coupe 1.5t
Did my first oil change at 1,500 miles using Castrol GTX and a Wix filter. Second change will be soon, honestly waiting for the temps to get back to double digits first, it's so hot here! Probably rotate the tires, too.
The 4.4 quarts is to bring it to the midpoint between the high and low marks. I always knock a hole into the bottom of the old filter and let the oil drain to make less of a mess when removing it.
That is correct. 4.4 quarts to bring to the midway point of the 2 dipstick marks. New Oil is still at room temperature. You can recheck oil level to confirm after engine oil is fully warmed up. When rechecked, it should now be near the upper fill mark.
As I am concerned, your maintenance minder will always show the respective letter code will represent your next service once your percentage achieves 15%. My local dealer, independent if A or B, they always change the oil filter under the complimentary service. They also accept that I run the complimentary early (50%).
Do you plan to change your own brakes when the time comes? Would be awesome if you made a DIY video since there doesn’t seem to be any for the 11th gen (at least that I could find).
Yes of course, I do just about everything with cars besides a laser rack alignment. It will be awhile before I need to replace the brakes though. Years probably. They are all very straight forward, I’m sure brake DIYs on UA-cam from other recent Honda models would be very similar to reference
If there’s anyone else out there wondering about a replacement to the ugly rear diffuser on these.. I’m almost certain the integra (not type s) rear diffuser will fit. All of the mounting points appear to be the same, where it mounts is the same shape as well, the same 4 push clip holes, is painted black, and has openings for a real exhaust. As soon as I can find one I’m going to try it.
Try it out and let us know! I recently swapped the LX/EX diffuser on the car when I installed my hitch . I think it’s way cleaner of a look than the sport one which just looks too fake
Such a cool car brother, I dont know if its just my eyes or the camera just wondering what color is the car? Cause the colors in the dealership have just the plain darker shade of the grey/gray but yours looks nicer.😁😁
Hey, I love all your content! On your civic does the black plastic shielding on the undercarriage seem to hang down on the left side when you look under the car from the rear?
Hey, I love your videos! I was wondering if you happened to purchase any warranties when you bought the car? I'd like to install the PRL intake as well on my sport sedan, but was worried about voiding any manufacturer warranties.
Hey I have a question for you. I just bought a 2024 civic sport hatch in boost blue color and I really love it so much I want to make sure it lasts a long time in your personal opinion would put some type of fluid fill underneath it have you done to yours ? because I noticed you mention something like that when the bolt fell out of place it had some of the coating you sprayed on it underneath can you please tell me what you used and did you spray the whole underneath with it. I’m just woundering because I live in Chicago and they use a lot of salt on roads
Prefill is a bad idea the big hole is the clean side the small holes are how you would fill it. Caterpillar for one recommends you don’t prefill cause everyone uses the big center hole

Did a 2.0 oil change the other day glad to know I wasn’t the only one who ended up using almost the whole 5q jug

Appreciate the comment bro! Ktuner vid will be coming in the near future !
Can you do a video on changing the manual transmission fluid when your car gets to that mileage?
Sure can! Will be a long time though , I only just hit 10k miles
Can you also do a video on when using 5w-20 or even 5w-30 and 10w-30 edge to see if t makes a difference in power or mpg and how efficient they are in cold and hot temperatures even though 10w-30 is usually better for summer being Mos duro.

You notice if it gets better GO + fuel mileage with more oil like in most older cars maybe do to a bigger pan than the recommended amount to put in

Should do the fumoto oil drain valve, connect a tube to it and just drain it into a bottle for disposal.

There's a 3D printable oil funnel for Hondas on thingiverse which threads into the engine. I think you would really like it for future oil changes.

Hello, thank you for your video always. I was wondering if you have any sticky steering issue.
Love the videos bro keep it up please
I plan to do my first oil change at 1k then 5k everytime after.
thank you for the video!
Thank you for this! Do you have a link or something to the service manual for this generation of civics?

This is sonic gray, I believed it was discontinued for the 2025 civic lineup
@NAUS2K Thanks brother! Aw thats too bad if they discontinued that color. Your car is really pleasant to the eyes!😁 keep rockong bro!
I'm running 0W-20 Royal Purple full synthetic with a Purolator Boss oil filter and my OCI is every 4k miles. I have a 23' Civic Sport 2.0 CVT.

Where can I get that Honda oil filter ?

Howcome u didn’t leave it at 50% and then when at 15% take it to the dealership for free assuming u got the complimentary 2 years oil change
Do you still have those little gas RC cars that you had years ago
I ended up selling them a while back, was a fun hobby just got too many things going on now
Why is there so much oil on your LCA? From the valve cover gasket leak?
No that’s undercoating I sprayed on all steel components before last winter. It’s called surface shield by blaster
My deep stick is so hard to remove idk why🤷🏽♂️😬
