"Anything over $1000 MSRP ( markup wise), you're getting screwed". Preach brother 👏👏. Consumers need to be aware of this stealership tactic. It doesn't matter how bad you want the car. No one should pay for any random markup on a new vehicle.

I got my si at msrp but it’s because the dealer told me that I had to buy a $4000 maintenance package after I signed the paperwork when they previously agreed on MSRP they had already ran. My credit came back to me and was like since we’re doing you a favor in finance can you buy this $4000 maintenance package and I was like no I’ll spend less money doing my own oil changes. Thank you and the salesman walked away, saying that they’re just gonna pass up on the deal then and then I went and talk to the general manager saying what happened now my credit is already been affected from the inquiry. He told me give him five minutes he’ll be right back he came back told me they’re getting everything ready for me and throwing in all weather floor mats and wheel locks at no cost to me after tax title, license and destination I walked out paying $33,700

I have been a Honda fan for many years! It’s pretty crazy what they are being marked up to!! I bought my first Si in 2009! It was a four door! A few years later I traded it and bought a 2012 Si then traded it in 2014 when they did the mid model upgrade! I then bought the 1.5 t 2017 Si and it was awesome!! In 2019 I traded my Si and got a 2019 FK8 Type R! I owned that until this past January and I was fortunate enough to by a black crystal Pearl FL5 Type R!! I have had a long history with my Honda dealership and was fortunate to pay msrp for my FL5! I love it! I have had such good experiences over time with Honda! Awesome video good sir!! I like your Honda too it looks great!! I like the hatchback!! I was able to fit all of my all season wheels and tires in the back and got them swapped! I shopped a '22 Si last Fall. The dealer I visited really didn't want to work with me, crazy markups here in southern California for the Si at the time. After my Honda dealer visit, I used TrueCar to get prices for a '23 Acura Integra A-Spec Tech Package with stick ... got my Integra at MSRP, basically the same amount the Honda dealer was trying to get out of me.
I'm very happy with the Integra thus far. I switched over from a '16 Honda Accord Sport CVT, wanting to get into a stick again. All of my prior daily drivers had been stick to this point ('85 Accord, '92 Accord, '00 New Beetle, '04 Mazda6 V6). I wanted to get an Accord Sport stick, but no inventory, and we were in hurry to add a car. '22 Si looked perfect, but the inventory and pricing craziness made me go up brand. My wife is happier with the look of the Integra (less boy racer), and I love the additional tech features that I originally didn't think I would like.
RE: headroom, I'm 6'1" and prefer not having a sunroof too. I fit fine in my Integra. A lot depends on if your height is more in the legs vs. upper body. RE: the engine, my son has an '18 Civic EX-T with a variant of the 1.5L turbo. It still goes fine, no issues.
It's unfortunate that sticks are so hard to get in the lower trims. Sticks were called "standards" back in the day, right? I probably would have been happy with a Civic Sport hatch with stick like your model. I tried finding a Civic Sport Touring hatch with stick, but those are impossible to find too. So, I went with the path of least resistance ... more money than I wanted to spend, but all good at the end of the day. Integra is definitely a fun "little" car. I was hoping it would be smaller, it's not much smaller than my '16 Accord.

The only good thing that came out of buying my si was the lifetime oil changes and probably the gps/car alarm + all weather mats. Anything with a sunroof nowadays is going to touch your head unless the roof is tall at 6’3” unless it’s a SUV/CUV/TRUCK. The problem with the new si is that it it has less hp and less torque and weighs about 45 lbs more. I was lucky to get the ex-t from the last gen because that model had a turbo and a manual. The only way to get a manual is to get an si or a type r with the 1th gen. On the 10th gen, prior to thw refresh, you can gwt a manual on the ex-t, sport trim, or hatchback touring...which is crazy to thinl about since most manufacturers ditched the manual long ago. The main reason I didn't buy it was the accessories. They took so much away that I consider critical...so I was trying to negotiate some back into the deal. Heated Seats, driving lights, etc. I did manage to get them to MSRP, as that markup was a complete no go for me as well. I asked them to think about for 24 hours and had decided to purchase it, when they tried changing the deal. I walked away at that point and bought a Volkswagen Jetta GLI instead. Was looking into getting a new Si for the wife since we sold her 8th gen Si which she miss driving but with the high dealer mark ups it’s not worth it.
Talking her into considering a 2nd hand Integra. More luxurious and more amenities and still get the 6 speed manual. A spec tech models only goes for around $32k with only less than 10k miles on it.

I’d still be a little concerned how the car was treated for that 10k miles though. Was it not abused during the break on period? These are things we don’t know buying a used car and the L15 engine is known for having head gasket failures unfortunately later in life

Just so you know, the Sport Touring doesn’t have the same problem because the seat goes lower. I’m 6’4” and test drove one a few weeks ago and didn’t have any head scraping issues.

Dude same thing. I went in wanting an si which they wanted 40k. Ended up leaving with a blaze blue hatchback sport with the NA engine. Even then they marked it up with the pin striping which is just a piece of sticker for like $1500 even though I didn’t want it lol.

I drove 2 hours to pick up a Civic SI at MSRP. Although i didn't hate the car it didn't impress me all that much. I have a GTI and Fiesta ST along with a few toyotas(late model 4runner and tacoma) and this was going to be my good gas mileage daily. After a 14 mile test drive i found this car to be perfectly adequate but nothing really stands out that great. Handling is good, but engine seems unenthusiastic at best. Suspension felt stiff which is fine, but did not seem to have any good suspension dampening and rebound seemed excessive over small chop. As far as a "fun" car goes it does not hold a candle to my Fiesta ST or my GTI. The GTI might not have as tight of handling but for less than stellar Western PA pavement, it actually works better. With all the mark ups and rave reviews i was expecting a pretty great package with the Si but i was left feeling a little disappointed.

Yeah I was cross shopping this, Integra, GTI, & others… at the end of the day I went with a red GTi 40 Ae for Msrp. Two thousand less than the civic Si.
Also, Honda wouldn’t let me test drive the Si which is borderline insulting. Very unfortunate, I was looking forward to it. Ultimately I’m very happy with my choice.

Also Honda recommends Premium fuel for the SI and Regular for the 2.0 NA!
