+Rustin Cohle You seem like an awards follower like me. With all the prelim awards,I thought Elba was his biggest threat. The SAG award for supporting actor is not as "bang on" as it's been for best actor ( perfect) or best actress ( two misses I think) but still pretty strong. I really want Sly to win but the dark horse here is Tom Hardy. Also sometimes two favorites cancel each other and third place becomes first. Best example being Adrian Brody ( over Jack and Daniel Day Lewis) and Jim Broadbent ( Ian McKellen and???). Sounds like you know your stuff, glad you're not in my Oscar pool!!

I loved him in CREED. He was AMAZING. Didn't expect him to be a better Rocky than he has been the past few films. Had to be the script...and great acting.

Sylvester Stallone is one of the greatest actors ever. He's still known as Rocky Balboa and John Rambo
he certainly deserves all the awards for what he did in Creed, so touching, so raw, so emotional, that's the Stallone I think we've all been waiting for :)

+George Tarantino i saw the movie last night and only afterwards did i read he won awards etc.. and i honestly thought, in the diagnosis scene, wow.. what great acting from Stallone. Genuinely didnt know he could act like that. He hit the moment perfectly. And throughout the film he genuinley came across as a loveable father figure. His acting in this film deserves the oscar. And if Tom Hardy wins it will be wrong because that will be because Hardy has done a 'collection' of films in 2015. But the Oscars shouldnt be about a collection, it should be about individual performances. And i cant see Hardy beating Stalloines performance in this

Much deserved! All awards highlighted and valued Stallone's greatness during his beautiful career and his performance in CREED - Born to Fight. But... unfortunately Oscar ignored all this and gave the statuette to an almost unknown person. Very sad! Stallone........best supporting actor!

I watched Rocky I. for the first time tonight - yes, I am young and just catching up with the 70s classics, so bare with me! 🙈 - and I couldn't help but think what an authentic actor Stallone is, how much depth he brought to the screen, how he makes us care about the inner strength of the character more than the intense fight scenes. I knew from interviews that Stallone was actually pretty smart, kind and eloquent in real life, yet I always considered him to be 'just' an iconic movie star rather than a true actor. - Boy, was I mistaken! 😮🙊I mean, that doubt - scene in the bed the night before the big fight ... you can feel Rocky's inner conflict between disillusion and fortitude, it's like you are in the room with him! And Stallone makes it look so natural! I fully understand why he got nominated for the Oscar (two Oscars) in 1977. And as much as Mark Rylance deserved the Oscar for Bridge of Spies in 2016 (which he did, his partner was Tom Hanks and yet he owned every scene they shot!), I couldn't help but feeling a little disappointed for Sylvester Stallone not taking home the Oscar for Creed That sure would have been a milestone fifty years after the production of Rocky I. Of course it is either way, the true goal is never winning that statue! Plus, they're still shooting Creed sequels, so we'll see! 😊💪🏻
He thoroughly deserves to win awards for his acting. He should have got accolades for Copland years ago. His Golden Globe win and Critics choice are hopefully stepping stones to the Oscars.
As a life long fan when Mr Stallone leaves us it will be like 1 of my own family passing, I love you Sly ❤❤

In hindsight, it was Sly's lack of a nomination at SAG (which went to the Oscar-unnominated Idris Elba) and BAFTA (which predicted Mark Rylance's eventual Oscar win) that really hurt his Oscar chances in the end.

So fitting that Sly gets his 2nd oscar nomination (he was robbed of that oscar, just as Jordan was robbed of his oscar nod) playing the guy that he invented, the guy that made him famous and that is now considered one of the most beloved characters in american cinema.

The fact he actually got criticism for his globes speech was disgusting. 1. Its understandable that in a moment like that, trying to remember everyone, you forget the most obvious people to thank. @Loso Banks No, he didn't. He has only won one Golden Globe and one Critic's Choice since he has created the role. I believe his only Oscar was for Best Picture for Rocky.
