You are absolutely a breath of fresh air. It’s funny (or the opposite) that a handful of us, seemingly unplanned, are making videos this week about needing more than the “hype” or “trend” perfumes (and reviewers... or maybe I’m fatigued w/ that). Thank you for offering such interesting content... real, experienced, and somehow always unpretentious. I am not saying everyone has to agree (eg if someone loves Trussardi Donna, that’s awesome) but I trust that you share how you really feel and based your experiences over time (and not always influenced by sponsorship). OK, so here’s my guess on why not many youtubers are talking about Lalique Encre Noir pour Elle. As you know it was off the market for some time, so attention moved quickly. As you note, I read that it is not at all the “female” version of the much-talked about male version that has been consistently on the market and inexpensive. Btw, I adore + have worn the male version. But I do not find it that similar to Sycomore (other than vetiver starring role) which I think is a masterpiece!! Anyway, my understanding is that the “pour Elle” just came back on the market and I have been dying to try it so your review piqued my interest even more: essentially that you’re not sure about it yet “but can’t leave it alone.” I’m intrigued! Thanks so much for your style + approach! 💛

Oh nononononono NO! I usually concur on your choices, but we diverge greatly on Trussardi Donna. I adore it. I love it at work on a stinking hot day. Reminds me of the wine coolers I'd drink in my early 20s during summer days.
I just bought a bottle of Dior Poison. I wore it in the early 90s and although polarizing, I feel it was way ahead of it's time. Glad to have this grape color little jewel back in my collection! It still smells fabulous, not dated at all and DH likes it on me. He says it smells like incense with a bit of forest fire.

I have found a little gem at TJ Maxx. It's called Rag and Bone Monoi. Very, very pretty! I also rediscovered Jennifer Aniston (the original one) and am loving it. Edited to add: I was in CVS today and they had a few Good Chemistry scents on clearance. They had both sprays and rollerballs from 20-50% off. I bought the rollerballs in both Gardenia Palm and Bluebell. These will be fun for summer. The Gardenia Palm smells a little green with some fresh lime, and the Bluebell smells like a sweet tart mix of orange and sweet florals. This is just the initial roll on; no idea of how they develop. Worth a look! These were $5 ish to $10 ish!
@@NotesFromJosephine I'm not sure I love these. Try and give them a spray first. I will say they don't smell like anything else I have. They almost have a figgy beachy smell, so you may like them. I am not the biggest fan of Good Chemistry I have decided.
Woke up for a rainy day here in Helsinki, and saw you made a new perfume video! :) My latest love that nobody talks about, is Biotherm L'eau by Lait Corporel. Fresh like a just peeled orange.. Great scent for the mornings and hot days, after sauna, after sports.More like a body spray and so refreshing.
Hi.. my hubby picked up lalique encre noir pour femme for me , I believe on fragrancebuy.. and I have worn it a few times and I still on the fence if I like it.. to my nose it's very musky.. and i love musky perfumes , but this one ahhhhhh I am just not sure yet.. but I wont get rid of it.. your the first youtuber to talk about it!! 😊

Aveda reformulated their hand lotion I think, and when I went to use my new hand cream, I was like...what is this?? Orange chicken from house of hunan! Pity, because I loved the herbal scent prior, but still kind of funny

This is the first video of yours I have watched and I enjoyed it. You mentioned that you like tobacco in fragrances. I believe L by Soft Surroundings has tobacco in it. It is both me and my sister's favorite fall fragrance. It was discontinued but they brought it back ( in a plain bottle now- but I guess better to have it back in a plain bottle than not have it back at all and besides, I won't be wearing the bottle!). The name of the fragrance is just the letter L. (. Not to be confused with one of my other favorites that just has the letter L for the name , L de Lolita Lempicka- which is rumored to be returning!) 😊
Loved this video! I do love fragrances that are unique as well. As much as I do love the mainstream fragrances, I love to find perfumes that tell a story. The one that comes to mind for me is Bukhara by Gallivant. It is created to smell like the scents from the silkroad.It really takes you on a journey.Encre Noire Elle sounds so intriguing, as all of the fragrances you talked about. Thank you for your videos, your knowledge is so inspiring!!!
I bought the pour Elle extreme lasy week, great perfume. It's different than many other fragrances I own it's strong I'm going to wear it outdoors next time because as soon as I sprayed it inside my house (and I sprayed 2 times only) my whole house smelled like this perfume. It's not a perfume for everyone indeed. I bet I'm going to love it with time. It was not love at first sight but in caught my attention and that's enough for me to keep it.

I really like sparkling white diamonds but I want to try white diamonds brilliant, white diamonds luster, diamonds and emeralds, diamonds and sapphires, and Violet eyes. I love clean and fresh fragrances and anything floral but not the overbearing old lady like outdated florals

Donna and Tous Gold are similar only in the earliest top notes. Gold dries down with more soapiness while Donna dries sweet and floral. Gold is quite different and by far my favorite!😊

I recently bought Donna by Trussardi because of all that darn UA-cam hype also. Haha I have the same feeling about it as you do. It’s nice, but underwhelming.
