I struggled with the magician power cards too, Finally solved it by diving them in 3 stacks (one for each level) and placing them in the spot where you put purple /blue cards. (higher level cards horizontal in the lower deck instead of blue and lower leveled cards in upper level instead of purple. I put purple and blue in he lowest tray, middle deck next to each other. Magician cards and powers all fitted in the corner spot of the middle tray and theater card go into bottom tray, one spot for each color (red orange yellow) Everything seems to fit for me this way!
Thank you for this. I have used it (and comments under the video) to refine my storage. Note: all my cards are sleeved, and the fit wonderfully well. Bottom layer: Technology boards under the player storage trays. Lower wells: Magician battle cards, advertising cards/Dahlgaard’s Heir, signature tricks; upper wells: Riverside Theater cards (non-expansion only), Grand Magorian/Magnus Pantheon (non-expansion only), all Dahlgaad’s Heir theater cards. Then player trays, worker boards, and finally player boards (over the player trays and overlapping the worker boards). Second layer: Academy storage and goods storage. Shards, Coins, and Contraptions in bags and folded over to store neat and prevent spills go in the “void space.” Upper tray: Dark Alley location cards with expansions kept together and “flipped” front to back to keep them together but easily separated, one located under each school trick stack. Magician cards under the Magicians Duel theater cards. And then in the three small wells, magician powers separated by level. This is the one place the two 2-3 cards will tend to slide a bit (because my cards are sleeved) but still stay pretty tidy. Top tray lid: the 4 Magician’s workbooks fit nicely under the main board (I stagger then a bit so they lay flatter), main board, Academy board (with the 4 Academy workbooks folded inside and staggered to lay flat), and finally the rule books and the KS “advert page” on top. The last one is because it fits over the entire box. I have a couple of thin foam pieces to help immobilize the Academy board, and then several flat pieces on top as there is a good 1/2-3/4” empty space on top. One other note: although I use the big bag to store the contraptions, during the game I use it as a blind grab bag for the prophecies.
i fully agree! It seems it would add a bunch to the cost of the box. But check out the Dice Force video for another really nice vacuform insert that fits all the components beautifully.
Thanks! This was a huge help...although it would be great if you had gone through the order of cards in each player (colored) pack ... there were too many poster and advertising cards of magicians which i didn't know where should go... thanks in total and for putting such effort!
It was a total crapshoot. i was very glad to see that Mindclash had learned from this experience, and provided a _very_ detailed reboxing booklet with the Anachrony Infinity Box!
Like you I have the original Trickerion KS and then obtained the Collector's box. What all won't fit into the Collector's Box from the initial? Just the board, or is there more?
Here are the leftovers that are in my original box: • original rulebook • Dahlgaard's Gifts expansion box • Empty CE corrective sticker sheet (not sure why i'm keeping this?) • cardboard coins • original character posters • assignment cards (downtown, theatre, market row, workshop x4 each) • original character cards • raging spirit trick card misprint • original board • flat Trickerion shard token (for marking rounds) It's not that this stuff WON'T fit in the CE box... it's that you don't need any of it.
So now you have the retail version and collectors version. Aside from the inserts and component upgrades are there any significant differences between the Collectors Edition and the Retail Version ? I missed the Kickstarter and bought the Retail version. I ended up buying the Meeple Realty insert which is awesome. Not sure why companies don't include more instructions on how to put their games away.
The Collector's Edition includes Trickerion, Dahlgaard's Gifts, Dahlgaard's Academy, and Dawn of Technology, and a new game board with different nighttime artwork, along with metal coins and some cloth pouches. (And i read you loud and clear on those instructions!) The Trickerion retail box has cardboard coins, and doesn't include any expansions, but the three expansions should all be available at retail separately.
LOL.. exactly how I felt when I un-boxed mine last week. I put my Magician Power cards in the top tray with the dice. They are in the slot that you put the academy assignment cards and the feather cards. Those cards I put in the bottom tray underneath the performance cards (just Magnus P and Riverside/Magorian that are not base only). My magician cards are in the top tray on the other side of the prophecy tokens, then on top I put the Riverside and Grand Magorian Performance cards for the base game. Not sure if any of that made sense! Mindclash is suppose to have a video out soon, I'll be interested in seeing how they sort it all with sleeved cards. I do not sleeve but after my two plays over the weekend, I'd like to sleeve just the assignment cards. They get handled a lot. That goods tile tray is awesome-sauce. I've played with my shiny new CE copy twice (Saturday/Sunday) and the Trays work great for sorting, set up and tear down. Edit: Oh and the coins/contraptions/shards I put in the bags, rolled them up and put them in front of the components tray. :)
This all makes tons of sense! Thank you! Ella Loves Boardgames made a lot of the same calls in her reboxing video. i made the silly mistake of looking at what i thought were official pics on the Kickstarter updates pages! Let’s loop back and share first impressions after i get a chance to play!
@@NightsAroundaTable that's whose video I used to set up my trays. 😊 I was not sure if it was ok to mention her video on your video of doing the same thing. Some people are particular about that. =/ I have plans to play it again on Wednesday. No Dahlgaard's Academy yet because we are all new to the game. We may start small and just add magician powers next. We are playing with dark alley though, it's a must IMO.
@@ShelleyDanielle Hey, it's all good! i'm far from the only person talking about board games on UA-cam. i would have included the link to Ella's vid if i wasn't on mobile. i'm on a laptop now, so here it is for others' benefit: ua-cam.com/video/mVOV4Yb86dk/v-deo.html Dark Alley is definitely a must. i even thought magician powers were a must, but they add a whole pile of reading (you have to read 12 cards off the top of the game, discard 4, and keep referring back to them). i was a bit bummed to see that Dawn of Technology looks like it replaces magician powers, but maybe it provides a similar feel with less caretaking?
@@NightsAroundaTable I'm glad you are ok with it! I commented on someone's video once saying "while he does just have a rules video, X youtuber did do the full playthrough you are looking for, X just does rules videos." And the channel owner replies to me and says "I wish others would go to other channels and advertise for me too" =\ It was a bit jarring TBH. It came off poorly. I immediately unsubscribed. I looked at a video explaining Dawn of Technology by Meeple School? I'd also agree that it feels/looks very similar to magician powers. Each school of magic's board has a different special ability that you get to use once a turn as long as you have a shard next to it and that ability gets better/improved upon the more contraptions you build. It looks pretty neat. :) I think it would cut down on some AP as there is no picking of the board, you just get the one that is for your school of magic and then you just need to look up what each contraption does if you do not understand the iconography. :)
Shelley Danielle Yeah, for sure - hopefully they've retained the feel while reducing the deer-in-headlights nature. But the magician powers were pretty cool. It kind of takes a huge chunk of value out of Dahlgaard's Gifts for people buying everything piecemeal though. i don't mind cross-promoting other channels at all, but i do take umbrage with the "why did UA-camr X bother covering game Y when it's been done before by someone else" sentiment. It's a bit like asking why Sinead O'Connor would sing Nothing Compares 2 U when Prince already recorded it!
You dare! i haven't sleeved my cards, but i know it was a bone of contention with the KS backers, and i remember them working hard to ensure that sleeved cards will fit. But ymmv... in my experience, sleeved cards don't fit anywhere.
Actually, they fit excellent in the GameTrayz solution! The only area where it is a bit tight (or more to the point, the lid doesn’t clamp down quite enough for the indentations in the lid to keep two of the piles from sliding together a little) is the magician power cards. Otherwise, my game is completely sleeved and fits with room to spare!
I struggled with the magician power cards too,
Finally solved it by diving them in 3 stacks (one for each level) and placing them in the spot where you put purple /blue cards. That's a great way to do it. i'll definitely need to shuffle a few things around next time i'm in there.
You just saved me so much time! Thank you for saving this lost soul :)

SO thankful you did this. Overwhelmed with the organization of it.
The contraption boards (the thin, very tall ones) which didn't seem to fit, actually fit perfectly in the slot under the player trays.
Good tip! Thanks!
The machine boards fit in the little space under the player boxes.

Player boards go atop player boxes. There’s even a cute ‘lug’ to secure them in place.
Cool! Let me take another look!
I completely missed that, and you are right, they fit just right!
Very nice!
Your video is a life safer. Thanks a lot! Trickerion is my number 1 game and you saved me a lot of time! 😀
I think I enjoyed this experience more than the unboxing. Hope more game manufacturers start doing something similar!
