Climbing Eagle Cap and Matterhorn Oregon Peaks Backpacking Wallowa Wilderness Sept5 9 2023

This is a trip I took a few months after I retired in 2023. I'd always heard good things about the Wallowa Wilderness in eastern Oregon and being only four hours from Boise, it was time to go. I left the day after Labor day 2023. This was a solo five day, four night trip doing 55 total miles. The trip included summits of Eagle Cap and the Matterhorn Peaks. Lakes included;
