  • In this video, I explain how Patch Bays work. This is a little bit longer of a tutorial than normal; however, I really wanted aspiring engineers to fully understand how these work. I also demonstrate how to set a patch bay up, how to route them, & exactly what it is that they do.

    Dude thank god you uploaded this. It’s ridiculous how everyone else FAILS to actually VISUALLY show step by step how this connection processes works. It just makes it a whole lot easier to understand. THANK YOU 🤘🏽⚡️

    Nice vid! I noticed your patch bay has the switchers at T for through. this makes more sense for my application. Do you have any thoughts on HN and N setting switches?

    I see you have a Neutrik bay too, in the rack on the right, behind you.

      I have a few patch bays & yet, I still run out of patch points lol. But I'm using the Neutrik one in my North studio rn! Definitely came in handy not having to a part the one in the video while I'm gone for a few months.

    What brand cabels are you suing?

      Mogami, but these are custom. You can buy spools of the Mogami wiring & the Neutrik connectors, so I get a bunch of that stuff & solder it together lol. It lets me do custom colors though, custom lengths, and it's about 3 to 4 times cheaper haha.

    But my TT patchbay (though not yet connected) uses DB25 cables... No soldering.

      @realisticproductionsLLC  7 місяців тому

      Yeah, that's true some of them do have the D-Sub connection. But there's a lot of them that do require soldering. I've had to solder enough of them myself. Either way though, I think aside from that technical point, I feel the info was still pretty useful throughout the video. Especially since a TT patch bay was only mentioned in brief passing as extra information & the focus of the video was a 1/4" patch bay & how to set one up.

      @@realisticproductionsLLC And the DB25 part is then almost always in the name.....

    I just tried to share this video. Are you still on twitter (or "X" or whatever they wanna call it?!). If not, there's no way for some of us to share it.

      I appreciate that. My handle on there is Realistic_Pro I wasn't able to do "Realistic Productions" like my other socials because it was too many characters for Twitter I guess lol.
