Oh yes Helen, please do a small video of the camping setup of your car camper. Definitely looks & sounds like a great fun camping & painting adventure. This is a beautiful painting & your updated photograph with new glasses 👓 is gorgeous too. Thanks so much for sharing this great video!
One of the gifts you give us with your videos is the *pleasure* of making art for the sake of art. Thank you for giving us a face to go with your entrancing voice. And YES, I'd love to see your camper set-up!
Lovely to put a face to your voice Helen. I love all your loose sketches. I think I’m going to get my landy ready for some car camping this summer so I’d love to see your setup ❤
Fun times, I remember camping in our station wagon with our two dogs when hubby and I were just married. Saw a lot of the country that way. A lovely relaxing way to paint.
Ohhh… would love to see your overnight setup! I like that idea of doing a few stress-free fun pages like that… might be a nice warm-up to get “into” colours you feel like using. Final painting is lovely!!
Thanks for this. From plein aire to en voiture! I love the one you did last from the van. The pink was perfect. I wonder could we see how you use the pencils sometime, along with watercolour, pen, and I think you used a pencil. Do you activate them, or just leave them be? Your set up looks wonderful! I think just stopping somewhere in the car, to draw and paint is a great idea. I stopped on a farm track today, and 20 minutes of bliss, engrossed in my sketch and paints.
What a great set up in your car! Would love to see more of it. I agree it’s quite relaxing and enjoyable to just loosely doodle. And as always, I love your splodge and scribbles. Didn’t get chance to comment on your last video from Spain, I really liked the pieces you did there, especially the window painting. Thanks for the video. And I love your glasses, they look great on you.
Hi Helen, I would love to see your camping setup. I will have more time in the future to go out and sketch, and using my car as you if possible, would be a dream come true 🤗
Well that was fun, thanks for taking us along on your journey. I have a van and LOVE parking in quiet beautiful places during inclement weather to doodle and splodge! Glad I bumped into you this morning…..sisters in hot chocolate ☕️!
Hi Helen , welcome back from beautiful Girona , I'm sure you enjoyed your time there with your daughter . The car looked really cosy and yes please , a vid show a bit more would be lovely . I've always felt that a charcoal pencil and a Sharpie are briliant stress busters but after watching your videoes have now added tempera sticks to that list of essentials . As ever , many thanks , Mike in Exeter xx
Love your new glasses. They are fabulous on you! Your car set up looked cozy for a day out but I’m not much of a camper. However, I would enjoy seeing more of your setup!
Great! Would love to see your set up. …might do it myself when we get a bigger car. Such a lovely relaxing way to paint, have a nice drink and so peaceful. Plus able to avoid the bad weather which seems to never stop at the moment 😂
Yes, I would like to see your car camping set up too! My current car is a bit too small and the seats don't lay flat so I can't overnight in it (hoping I can with the next vehicle). What I have right now is a day trip rolling locker I guess ;-) During the pandemic, I even got a bucket toilet and pop-up shower tent so that I basically had my own portable bathroom (all the rest areas and public facilities closed and I didn't want to be constrained to trips/timing where a handy, private piece of woods was nearby lol). When it rains or snows, I just go "plein car" painting ;-)
My husband just got made redundant and I’m semi-joking considering selling the house and moving into a van (a friend suggested a decommissioned double decker may be a better choice given my art supply stash lol). Looking at your car, complete with hot choccy and comfy blanky, I think I could happily live in there instead Helen 😂.
I'm really sorry to hear it - a worrying/stressful time... I very much hope you find the best way forward. One of my not particularly guilty pleasures is watching van life videos on UA-cam. There are some amazing people out there!
@@helencryer indeed, it’s a genuine appealing thing to me but I know I’d miss the masses of art/sewing/bookbinding/woodwork you name it art supplies I have too much! Thanks Helen, I’m working hard on my own art business to try and make it pay a living wage alongside my day job at Hobbycraft.
It's butane, but as with all gas burners, you need to be sensible with them and know they give off Carbon Monoxide. I always have windows opened for ventilation when using in the car (and keep a fire extinguisher nearby).
Helen...? are you living in your car now?! just joking. but i thought it was hilarious when you cut to the "making some hot chocolate"-scene. when you choose the new wallpaper and get the good china out of the glove departement, i will start to actually get nervous though :D love this new state of loose drawing/painting. the house made me so happy, too!
Haha!! I have fake plants, fairy lights and I made some camper van patterned bunting.(Which I'll show in a future video) but no wall paper yet! Thanks!
I got rid of inktense before i even bought any other art supply i hated them that much. 10 years in with £15k of art materials and i still hate them and wouldn’t use them again. I never enjoy anything from derwent really. It’s a shame they don’t improve the look and feel of their materials. I do however like their crazily expensive artists pencil range drawing paper.
I'll give them another shot first! I do like my Derwent Lightfast and Derwent Drawing Pencils a lot, plus I think the Graphitint pencils are nice. I haven't tried their paper though!
Lovely little trip again! Really liked the bright colours of your Stifts! ( Sennelier box ). Thanks. Off to watch my neighbour do a sponsored run for school. 7 yr.olds today weather is sunny.( Oops! Parents read wrong! In 2 weeks! ).
@@helencryer Luckily met mum as we were both leaving the flats! Then dad who said: Hope you’re not off to the school! But, as the sun shone I went for short walk so all not in vain!

I love Helen. Btw Helen your gorgeous.
You're very kind, thanks!
Love your loose landscapes Helen ❤ And your camper van looks so cosy amidst horrible soggy weather outside☺️
Thanks! I love being in there so much, and the rubbish weather doesn't seem to make much difference to that!

What a nice trip ❤ , I loved most of your art tools , especially that colored pencils bag 💼 👍

I think the texture of the Tempera sticks is beautiful, and I just love that they dry completely!
That's so cool and peaceful !

Thanks so much! I'm feeling a bit less traumatised about them now!!
Lovely,a s&s 🫶🏻. Would love to see your camping setup, looks very cozy.

This was wonderful. Would love to see your setup!
I, too, would like to see your car/art setup. I've wanted to do something like that with my Subaru Forester.
It's definitely good fun!

I honestly love having it available to me so much! I use it quite a bit - even if not overnight - so nice to have somewhere to rest/stretch out!

Great set up Helen! Love the splodgy too. 🐨👍

Is it safe to use a propane burner in a close vehicle? Am I misunderstanding what that appliance is?
