In the LN she's considered a lot more cunning and manipulative (through internal dialogue which is why it's not shown here), but she's still cute as a button.
Milim is one of the oldest and most powerful Demon Lords. She plays at being "just a kid" to have people underestimate her. She's much more canny than she pretends. What she's quickly learned of Rimiru is that he'd rather have friends than enemies.
I think it was discuss she is pretty lonely people are afraid of her and only fear her and worshipped her in the end rimuru trigger her loneliness and turn it into desire of friendship and it later discuss that seeing she is basically almost immortal living that long probobaly seeing lots of people she know die b4 her so it cause her to choose solitude but rimuru is the first who show not fear but friendliness toward her and he probobaly hit a nerve of loneliness of her so she grab the opportunity to make him her besties it was later explained in later chapter of the manga

Its just that she's soooooo powerful that there's not been someone around to give her a real challenge in a loong time and make her grow up. Okay, so this is a bit of a spoiler for Anime Only's, but it's only about where some characters stand in terms of power
Milim alone could clap the cheeks of 90% of the other demon lords. At the same time. Almost none of them are even close. There's two that are near her level/on it depending on the situation and one that is above her. Respectively, that's Dagruel, Ruminas(only because of a busted ass ability I don't know if Milim could counter), and Guy who would probably beat her with mid-to-high difficulty. She could likely beat Veldora one on one, to boot. The estimate that great sage was getting was for Milim _literally_ just playing around. She could anihilate everything in tempest, veldora excluded, with a stray fart.
SPOILER: Satsaru no way. Valentine couldn’t even scratch dagruel so she is out(there is no point in having a op ability if your attacks can’t even harm the person)and dagruel was beaten by veldora making him inferior to milim.

Dagruel was a specific counter pick to her otherwise instant-kill/resurrect abilities if memory serves, so it's a bit of a bad matchup. I'd wager Milim would be similarly resistant, but as they've never fought there's no hard proof. I just meant that they're generally _kinda_ in the ballpark of her power. They'd both almost unquestionably lose in the end to Milim, though. Apparently, though ,they author changed the balance between Guy and Milim between the web novel and light novel. He was implied to be a bit stronger in the WN, but they're apparently dead even in the LN.
Milium and Valentine did fight and milim ended up killing her in the future, cloe was from. The holy-demonic inversion skill does not work on milim because she is a true dragon. Even at the end of the series milium still cannot control the mana breeder reactor while guy crimson unlocked the void god ultimate skill. So at the end of the day it all comes down to guy/ milim outcome in the final volume of light novel @@Satsaru

Firstly, nobody would logically deduce that Rimuru of all people would name these female lizardmen with the intent of making them human-looking for the sake of infiltrating human cities as spy-ninjas. That's not how Rimuru thinks at all, and I'm not sure if he even realized they would all be joining Sohei as fellow ninjas.
Secondly, the fact that they're shifting into humans and not just physically human wasn't demonstrated either. All it would've taken was an on-screen transformation with a ninja-poof. The background was Tempest, so didn't see them mid-infiltration either; it would've made more sense to have them be in dragon-newt form by default and explain the ability later on.
Lastly, we weren't told that naming with intent affects the final form. That's what happened with the Orc Lord, but it's not an established mechanic, so even if we somehow make the logical jumps above, as far as an anime-viewer knows, this is like a pokemon evolutionary line and everyone just has human appearances written into their tree.
Actually in a future arc he apologized to everyone because his mentality , longing to be with humans afected the result of the evolution

It is established as the series goes on, and this is beyond where the Manga has even reached, that Milim is actually incredibly intelligent and very wise. She just happens to have decided at one point that it's not worth caring about anything and so she started acting like a kid all the time. At that point, her maturity level actually did legitimately go down as she started acting more and more like a kid as the years went by. (she is one of the 3 oldest demon lords, and the 3 oldest demon lords have each been there since the beginning, as in those 3 were also the first 3 demon lords.)
Apparently, acting less mature in their incredibly INCREDIBLY long lives is a common thing among the 3 oldest demon lords. 2 out of the 3 of them act like little kids, although Milim is a little bit worse than Ramiris, the other childish one among the 3 oldest. Guy, the only one of the 3 oldest that acts like anything even resembling what could be called mature acts a bit more like a 15 year old than a full adult, but at least he doesn't act like a little kid like the other 2. At any rate, despite their immaturity, all three of those demon lords I just named still actually are INCREDIBLY smart as well. They just don't usually act like it.

All animes will end eventually, whether it's coz the story line finished or the show was discontinued for some reason. That time I got reincarnated as a slime won't finish (as an anime) any time soon if the story is similar to what I've read. And at the time of posting my comment only the main story was finished. They have since continued it with a new story (more like a side story kind of thing that'll end up as a set of OVAs for the anime if they ever get that far)

Milim is way stronger than current veldora, the current veldora isn’t even able to maintain human form. He lacks in control and resorts to brute strength. One advantage he has is his overwhelming mana reserves. Tho he does get stronger towards the end as he trains with rimuru milim and the rest

About the lizardman race: when they evolved they have two evolution paths. One that it enhances their lizard like abilities (more dragon like) and the other one is a more humanoid evolution (they still retain their horns and wings but now can hide them at will)
In the manga, the dragonnewt can change their appearance between the two types.

If I recall correctly from the manga, Rimuru had Souei name Gabiru’s sister and her companions instead of Rimuru himself because they were to be placed under Souei as his soldiers/assassins/spies. That may be incorrect or they just changed it in the anime to make it easier to understand, but regardless the reason they changed that way was because they were named and had the intention of being spies, and having a more outward human appearance definitely helps with reconnaissance and blending in. It was shown that some monsters became more human while others became more Dragonnewt, such as Gabiru, his father Abiru, and his friends.
After Research going back and checking manga:
People in the comments are correct in the regard that Rimuru did name Souka (Gabil’s sister) and her group. However they did not gain a transformation ability (the only one they have is I guess their dragonnewt qualities like their retractable wings and such). It says that “those under Souei’s command evolved with more human-like features. They would be able to gather information in human nations.” For the reason that they transformed this way it was probably because of the purpose that Rimuru had for them when he named them, and they therefore evolved that way to better suit their purpose under Rimuru. Souka did come to serve under Souei because she likes him but did not evolve that way to be more attractive to him.
I'm fairly sure the were named by Rimuru. The thing is they gained a shapeshifting ability and Gabiru’s sister has a major crush on Souei so she took the form to be both more useful as a spy and be more attractive to him.
That would accually make a lot of sense
Remember that anyone naming someone while not having infinite or monstrous amounts of Mana/magic they would get weaker Sou still isn't on that realm yet

I guess naming also works like this, that the individual can choose from a evolution tree to help their master. Like to be a ninja, the lizardmen saw Souei as their example and choose a humanoid form in their evolution tree. Gabiru and the others just took the next step in their evolution tree and so on. I would really like to know how the system works in the evolution. Would be interesting.
With the dragonewts, they actually have a decent level of control over how human or lizard-like they appear. They take those relative appearances because they chose to do so. The anime doesn't really go into that, but you do see Souka (Gabiru's sister) in a bit of an in-between state as well, which I think they intended as a nod to the fact that they can transform without outright stating it. Souka and her crew chose their appearance mainly because a) she has a massive thing for Souei, and b) it's better for infiltration.
Spoiler alert....
It's more clear in the Light Novel. It's not because it's just Honey, but because there's close to no "sweets" in this realm. The raw honey in this realm is often too poisonous to be eaten and no one has a good quality one. And Rimuru got his honey from the Treants. He sent his 2 bugs and collected them. So... It's not just some normal Honey anyone can get their hands on. They're special.

Well, they kind of did become new races. Goblins became hobgoblins, which in many fantasy settings, is a completely separate race. The oni became kijin, which are completely separate from ogres (though admittedly ogres in this show aren't like typical ogres to begin with). And so the lizardfolk became dragonkin, which depending on the world, can be wildly different things.

Plus, she wasn't even there to fight him, just greet him. It was the ogres that attacked her and she had to defend herself.
Oh yeah, the Lizardman transformation. Here's the explanation:
The humanoid ones who chose their transformation are to be under Souei for ninja training (in the case of Gabiru's sister, to be close to him), while the rest, like Gabiru, which are the natural evolution, will work where it's suited for them. They have the same strength, the difference is in their field of expertise.
At this point, she is more than 10 times his strength but she isn't exerting any of her real strength. Fact is she is actually 1000x stronger. Although that level of her strength won't be shown in years assuming this hopefully continues. But we do see her be essentially 100x stronger. She is one of the ultimate beings. I can't wait for her power to be shown. The proportions of the devastation she will cause are truly incredible.

Shion Still best girl for me, Milim is second Best! But honestly this episide disappointed me as the meeting between the Demon lords was cut drastically short, like in the manga they had a full on conversation between them all before Milim took off. In away I think the Anime is about to take a turn away from the source material to some degrees.
The anime has been simplifying certain aspects the whole way through. I haven't read the manga or LN (just some of WN), but I doubt there will be a significant overall difference from the source.

@@r0kus there are some important sub plots in the demon lord conversations, simplifying and rushing something are two different things. They didn't need to have the whole conversation but it didn't need to be completely cut down to just Milim talking. Cutting minor details like that can make people stop watching. I understand they have limited episode time but that could easily be fixed with a season season which it deserves with how well it's gone so far.
I believe it is stated in the web novel that when they evolve they also choose what they look like or something like that
The thing with Gabiru's sister she still has wings but has the ability to retract them as she please and its because she is more interested in Soei the evolution took this into account and thus she was given the form she has now.

I am pretty sure it was in the manga that they explained the difference in appearance between Gabiru and his sister's appearance is because the Dragonnewts, can change their appearance to look more human by hiding their lizard traits basically on the fly. While not explained in the episode if you paid close attention you will notice that Gabiru's Sister, after she is evolved is depicted both with wings and horns and without wings and horns. The ones who could hide their lizard traits the best were assigned to work for Souei as spies. Also while probably not really important, the idea of overwriting names is a completely unknown concept for the world. In the Veldora short story at the end of the Manga volume, Veldora mentions he wasn't happy that Rimuru used some of his power in overwriting gabiru's name, but forgave him because not even he knew that such a thing was possible.
As far as the episode goes I got to say to be honest over all I am quite disappointed with this episode. There is a lot of things that should have been covered/explained in this episode, that they just kind of skipped. They should have covered the power classifications, and also spent a bit more time with the demon lord meeting to really show the politics and power plays going on with the demon lords. they also should have explained the above reason for the differing appearances of the dragonnewts. Personally I think this episode should have been doing more world set up with it ending right when Milim lands in front of Rimuru.
Also was it just me or did Milim's voice sound weird. Maybe it was just me but to me if really sounded like the voice actress for Milim wasn't using the same recording studio as the rest of the voice actors. It makes me think that there was originally a different voice actress that had recorded this and maybe some later episodes, but part way through that voice actress was replaced. So to make things more consistent they decided to go back and had have the new voice actress rerecord all the lines, but since it was something last minuteish they were forced to use a different recording studio.

About Gabiru's sister transformation, its a bit under-explain in the anime. So when a monster evolve they can sort of choose how they want to evolve to a certain degree. Most of Rimuru's monster, especially the later one from the Oni onward tend to evolve into a human-like form cause they want to be closer to Rimuru and they know Rimuru like his human form. However in Souka and the lizardman in general case its slightly different. They are all still dragonewt, including Souka, however those who choose to serve under Sousei (Which Souka obviously like) take a more humanoid form in order to become a better "ninja" (also cause Souka want to be with Sousei) cause they can integrated into human society easier (Rimuru also comment that given time even Gabiru could also took this kind of form and Souka should she want to can also turn into something more like Gabiru is atm)

I would watch the sub but I'd rather enjoy this series which I ALREADY LOVED WHEN I WATCHED IT SUBBED (at first I didn't wait for the dub i watched the sub) in a way that doesn't requier me to read what they say. And I kinda like the dubbed voices. At first I didn't but I re-watched the whole thing and they grew on me.

He beat a demon lord though. That orc turned into a demon lord and Rimuru ate him so he's at least 200k right? I think Milim might be alot higher up to cause she's 10X stronger.
@@daemon7013 Not quite. By eating him he does not increase his own power level but rather obtains the Orc Disaster's abilities. This in turn technically increases his power by a bit but nothing even worth mentioning. That said Rimuru still has less than 200k. One thing they will eventually say in the anime is that it's not all about power level. It's about how skills are used and who is better at using them. In this case, predator beat starved.
Also, Milim is 1M power. But when talking about her just assume she is an absolute being that cannot lose. She is so strong that at this point in the story it is almost not worth comparing.
I first watched this episode in school, she appeared, and I just closed it and went to youtube. Same thing with Ass Class when Erina and Korosensei were in the room alone.

Great episode, I love the dynamic between Rimuru and Milim. Boo for not doing the full demon lord meeting in the beginning.
A bit of useful information. When evolving you look closer to what either you or your master considers desirable. Just like how rimuru has a thing for humans so the kijin and evolved lizardmen look more humanoid whereas gabiru who thinks dragons are perfect looks more like a dragon.

the scene where Rimuru was with Kaijin, Benimaru, and company at the hot springs. there was some dialogue cut out from the manga if I remember. It pertains the strength level of monsters. Milim is one of the oldest and strongest of all the current demon lords. I don't remember what all the classifications were but she is in 4th catergory less spoken about "Catastrophe" same as Veldora. I think most of the other demon lords are in the category below that. I've current in the manga so I don't wanna spoil it for you but things are about to get lively fast .
