    I have 2 1905 Models, they have the sweetest DA trigger pulls I have ever felt. I use mine regularly, both are 38 Specials. The first one I got at age 12 when my great Uncle, Sheriff Bud Huffman passed. The gun had been his Fathers Sheriff Austin Huffman. I had a 20 year LEO career and was issued a Model 10. These guns are workhorses.

    My first revolver was one of these. Really low serial made in the first year of production. 3.25" barrel with heavily worn nickel plating, but still shoots as if brand new. Got it in a pawn shop for 115 bucks.

    I picked up a pre model 30 chambered in 32 long about a week ago and it’s the nicest action on a revolver I have ever felt.

    Elmer Keith and Skeeter Skelton both praised the 32 long as a small game round.

      If you have any service rifle chambered in .303 british, the chamber conversion inserts in .32 S&W long make for a VERY nice quiet small game rifle. It's as quiet as a being suppressed, and .303 british rifles can be picked up cheap. I used to have a Remington Rolling Block set up like that.

    You are right about use on small game. I have a couple of .32 revolvers, a S&W and a Colt. They are more effective on rabbit size game than a .22 LR and the cases are reloadable. That's something you cannot say about rimfires.

    I bought a S&W .38s&w Regulation Police model early 50's vintage with 4 inch barrel 5 shot I-frame and boy what an accurate shooter that gun is especially out to 15 yards it is a tack driver as a lot of owners states that it is and I can vouch for that now and yes it was also a pawn shop purchase !!! I'll never sell that gun and it's a shame the ammo is very hard to find these days !!!

    A friend in New Orleans Mr Charles Frank gave me one that he had done over prior to his death. I am grateful. The action is tight as are the clearances. It had a rough previous life and the is some deep pits in the side plate on one side but he had the pistol parkerized before giving it to me. It has a round butt grip. It is a 4 inch model.

    I just bought one of these, I was shocked at how smooth the double action was on it.

    Just picked up a circa 1918 Hand Ejector in 32, 3" barrel and original nickel in good condition. Such a fun little piece and I understand Buffalo Bore has come out with a hard cast wadcutter that turns the little thing into a much more formidable defensive gun. Really enjoyed the video!

    Super good video on a .32 S&W revolver from the pre-war years. I own one with a 3-inch barrel that has a bright nickel finish (not factory). A lightweight easy-to-carry small frame handgun, that is chambered in .32 S&W and has fixed sights. Caught this one several years ago in a local pawn shop and got it at a bargain basement price because of no interest in an old timer wheelgun. Thanks again!

    Very nice video. Keeping with the 32 caliber revolvers theme, can you do a lemon squeezer?

    Very nice presentation. I just inherited one of these, it's been hidden away for a few generations but seems entirely workable! UA-cam comes through with some obscure information, thanks! I notice that this is the highest ratio of "likes" to "dislikes" I've seen lately, and a surprising lack of crazy hateful comments below. This gives me a good impression of Brownells! I don't know if I'm going to find this ammunition retail, but I've seen some online. I think this revolver might have belonged to my Mom! Should make for some interesting conversation at the range....

    • @riggs20

      I just inherited a 4-inch one as well! It belonged to my great-grandmother at one point and, per the serial #, it was manufactured somewhere between 1909 - 1915. Got it cleaned up & it's in great condition.
      I'm ready to take it down to the range as soon as I can backorder some ammo. Not easy to find.
      I was previously debating whether to buy a revolver or pistol for a home defense firearm, but I think I'm going to just stick with this little family heirloom. Wish it had a little more firepower, but I like that it has very little recoil. I'll just make sure to get enough practice in to feel comfortable with it. Hopefully I'll never need to use it, but you can never be too prepared.

      32 Long ammo is pretty easy to find, you'll have no problem there. You'll love shooting that little 32, very mild and surprisingly accurate

    • @weinerexplosion

      @@riggs20 PRVI Partisan makes inexpensive ammo for it and your local firearms shop should have it or can order it easily. About $20 for 50 rounds

    • @douglaslarue4264
      @douglaslarue4264 4 роки тому +1

      @@riggs20 Get a HKS Speed Loader. That will resolve the firepower issue. But stick with the Revolver. I do. The inexpensive little .380 Autos that people are buying these days don't have the reliability these older, better made firearms do. The number of rounds they hold isn't any more than the revolver generally.
      You can order a case of .32 Long online (TEN, 50 round boxes). That mitigates the worry about being able to buy ammunition locally. Take a couple boxes to the range and get some practice. It's fun. And you will be delighted with how well the S&W .32 HE shoots.

Also, I have a Remington Arms Co, ILION, N.Y. 41cal rimfire over and under derringer. The number 178 on frame under grips remover. Grips have two sets of initials w/dates scratched on them. • @telesniper2
    @telesniper2 3 місяці тому

    MEH! The "Perfected Model" top break was VASTLY superior. This is the period where revolvers took a wrong turn! The ONLY reason they went to swing out was the same reason everyone's switching to plastic frames: it lets the corporation crank out cheapo CRAP and hence profit! They should make something like a J-frame or k-frame pocket carry gun in .38spl, .357, and .327 in top break, with the cylinders machined for moon clips. They are much MUCH faster to reload, requring 2 fast hand movements instead of 4 slow ones. I know, I've shot friends Smith and Wesson model 3 repros that were set up for moon clips. It's REALLY slick the way they pop out.
