As professor said the most “ideal” sport fishing boat is a boat with a console enclosed in the salon with a fly bridge as well. Have him check out the new Jarret bay “renegade” which is a 56 with a full helm below and fly bridge plus a full tower, it’s bad ass and very fishable. Been watching since y’all had 400 subscribers. Love the videos keep ‘em up!
I fished on the Foolish Pleasures out of ocmd ocfc.. Capt Dale has a 36ft topaz that was a express, he built a dayboat style cabin with a flybridge on the same boat. When I charted his boat he ran the boat for 14 hrs from the time we left until we docked from the tower. I couldn't believe he ran the boat up there as rough as it was with 1 arm. BTW we were the top tuna boat that day in the whole fleet 24 yft.
Id take an express over fly bridge anyday. My dad had a Carolina classic (32 express) that we could fish together and run the boat without others (even though we usually did). He didn’t want the extra air conditioned saloon as to discourage the wives/women from wanting to go on the fishing trip!! It had a raised marlin tower, so we could get good visibility if you wanted it I think if you want a boat to take cruises on as well as fishing, the fly bridge/convertible is the way to go. If you want a dedicated fishing boat, express is the way to go. My two cents. Either way, definitely get a Carolina flare to deal with the rough water!
Charter trolling convertible all the way. Pleasure fish express to be 1 with crew. Bait fishing lower center of gravity wins so express but endless $ means seakeepers. Tough call!
Great video, I'm an express guy, fished on both. My preference is an express ,# 1 Fan of the SPEECHLESS, DENNIS LI NY. P.S. YOU GUYS KILLED IT THIS BLUEFIN SEASON
Alot of people if they were asked is they had all the money in world. Wouldn't even mention fishing or fishing boats I'm very happy tonseenthat you did and every time I see thee power ball or mega million lottery tickets getting talked about all I can think of is building my ultimate sport fishing boat and its tough to decide but with all the money I would simply own 2 my custom 70' with the 4bedroom four bath convertible and then my 47 -50custom and ido mean custom express i grew up near Gloucester and there was this boatcalled masterpiece at the cape Ann marina don't know the make but from the time I was 9-25 years old everything we went by that marina I would look fornthst boat it looked like a40 plus foot express it was a really cool looking boat and I said one.of these days. That's gonna be me of course back at the dock watching the cookie too (merit) crew heading out I side well..... maybe that's the boat I want so with all the money just get both
All boatmen know that EVERY boat is a compromise, If you're a hard, all weather fisherman, there is no contest! CONVERTIBLE svery time! If you're a weekend warrior, and a fair weather fishdrman, go with the EXPRESS, But believe me, you'll be sorry the first time you hit a storm, coz you WILL get wet. My Bertram 46, for me, is THE best fishing boat ever built.

Great recommendation Mason. And appreciate the kind words!
Jarret Bay really made a spectacular interior on that one Wow ! Usually it's Rybovich that makes my jaw drop on interiors .
The new boats have this huge sea keepers in them which is awesome.
Enclosed bridge convertible?
It is nice to have a lower station as well.
Great vid, guys.
Have an even better season!
Yep, that’s a good name for it. Appreciate you stopping by John!

WOW! That is a cool story. That Capt. Is impressive, and also fished with us out of Pirates Cove this winter.
Flybridge with full isinglass enclosure and you’re not exposed. Easy.
Rocking the flying WV. Also a WVU alum ‘04
Nice!!! Good times Brandon. LET’S GO!!
Mountaineers!

@@h.h.3779 great points!
I would imagine that when backing up on a fish, the convertible has a great view of the action.
Starting the video with a definition of teems would help a lot. I assume Express means lower helm only and Convertible means flybridge?
Correct. Could have done a better job there.
@@saltwaterfishinguniversity very good content, I am just a noob trying to learn, probably most viewers already would know.
Then there is the weight. You have to pay for the fuel to move those sofas and corrion counters... 😩
Very true.
If your worried about fuel owning one of these boats you probably shouldn't own one fuel is the cheapest expense on a boat.
I like the convertible style boat was extra cold AC
It can certainly make a difference those hot days.
LOVE THIS BROS!!
Next time contrast the two boats to that Wesmac docked in the background! 😀
Mad Ludwig is a convertible. Ultra comfortable but still fishable 😉
Indeed it is Bernie!

Go with both like the jarrett bay renegade... I mean if you had all the money
Yep. Goals.
Enclosed bridge or convertible! No express
Easy if you hard core fish more than you party then express but if you party and fish enclosed all day
I'm with the professor on that
