It's expensive but that print you went with in the system turned out really sharp and polished looking!
(p.s. was it freezing cold in there? because you seemed like you were shivering)

Agreed, I’m very happy with that Shapeways print. It’s about as good as it gets! It was chilly in the basement, so I often have to bundle up! Even then, sometimes it’s not enough. 🤣

Commented from about 5 minutes in... The Craftcloud one looks a bit under-extruded.

I wasn't sure how to explain it, but that's probably the best explanation. :) Thanks for watching!

Out of curiosity, you say the one you printed is between the two, what did you pay for your 3d printer? Seems for the price of the one you could get a fair printer and print your own. It does look to be great quality though as it should be.
    Great series btw!

Thanks watching and for the compliment! My Kobra Plus was about $300…it was on sale. There’s the cost of filament (about $30) and time learning in there, but if you’re going to print a bunch of things (having these old machines guaranteed that) it does pay to get the printer.

Excellent! Great content as always. Thank you for the floppy connector to backplane warning! Where is the printed cat no. something like "26-1512" along with the faux catalog listing? 😄

Thanks! I’d hate to see someone blow up a Model 12 by mistake. And shucks, I didn’t even think to make up a catalog number…

I know this isn't related, but I thought you might like to know that in my car right now is a rescued Compaq Portable, TRS-80 Model II, Model II Disk Expansion unit (seems to have two drives), and a DMP-400 printer. You were the first person who came to mind when my old fraternity brother called me up and asked me if I wanted these things out of his father-in-law's storage unit. Luckily, there were fitted dust covers on the printer and the TRS-80, and the disk expansion unit was boxed. Oh, it also looks like I have all the manuals and a pack of 8-inch disks. I have not the first bit of knowledge about these machines and don't know when I'll get around to them, but I'm hoping to take a peek over the weekend!

Nice haul! The Model II-line systems are a lot of fun, and different enough from the Models I, III, and 4 that I found myself fascinated by them. If you can, drop a couple videos of your journey with the II.

@@TJBChris Oh, I absolutely plan on making videos of them! I have zero experience with these machines, so I have no idea what I'm getting into or when I'm going to get into them. I've got to find somewhere to put them because for now it's living on my dining room table 😂
