- Debating between the LV Pochette Metis and the new Odeon bag? Watch this video first! I'll be showing you and comparing arguably two of the BEST Louis Vuitton crossbody bags.
If you love a good designer bag that's practical and functional for everyday use, then I have no doubt that you'll have come across the LV Odeon and Pochette Metis. These two bags are similar in terms of size, but I think are best suited to slightly different occasions.
It was a hard choice, but at the end of the video, I reveal the bag that is the winner for me - I think! Comment below, which bag do you prefer?

I have both and have not used my Pochette Métis since I got the Odeon PM. Although I like them both, I find the Odeon so much more comfortable and easy to use. Plus I don’t see the Odeon on others like I do the PM... and I like that.
This video saved me! I returned my Métis and got the Odeon. I disliked the latch opening on the Métis. It’s so beautiful and especially liked the compartments, but it was not very functional for me. So much happier with the Odeon as my everyday bag. Love it!

I'm the most confused one here, becz both are so darn fabulous, they're Both looking terrific with all the outfits, equally terrific, you know .. now i really just can't make up mind!

Just purchased Odean pm recently & absolutely love it. I did own Pochette Métis but due to glazing issues on my bag I got it exchanged but definitely not missing it anymore. Yes Pochette Métis was a great one to have but now odean pm is absolutely a practical one. Glad I got one. Nice comparison video. Thanks for sharing my dear 💕

I have both bags and I would pick the PM every time... I do love both but if I could only own one its the PM... always for me :)

It was very challenging finding this one right now. I bought the Metis last Christmas and ended up returning it because I wasn't as in love with it as I had thought I would be. I think you've made the right choice Jannifer, as much as I like the pochette metis, I never really reach for it. The odeon is a much better bag for every day, I love using it. Let me know how you like it.

The Pochette Metis is a beautiful bag. I bought mine last week and I am in love (I exchanged the monogram version to the reverse because of the vachetta).
The Odeon is ok but too ordinary for me. I prefer bags with a handle and not just a shoulder bag. It is more lady-like for me :)

I would pick the Pochette Metis. I love this bag. I have both the monogram and reverse monogram. I do not have the odeon but am ordering it. 😀
I have both bags, except my Odeon is the MM size with the VVN leather. I love them both and don’t think I could choose between the two. The Odeon is definitely more comfortable, but in my opinion, the Pochette Métis in reverse is so classy looking and really elevates any outfit.

I have both bags and I love them so much, so I would keep them both. But they are different bags. As you said, I would also grab the Odeon for a walk with friends, and the pochette metis for an evening at the restaurant. The Odeon looks more casual and goes very well with outfit number five.

I have both, Odeon mm in noir and PM mono. The Odeon can be used in rainy weather and I like the zip opening. I also have added a top handle strap for easy to grab when getting out of the car. Both bags are for daytime casual outings but if I have to choose to keep one, then it’s the Odeon.

My vote goes to the Pochette Matis, improves the outfit... just looks more chic.
It is not a deep pit version of a bag...structured and much easier to see your stuff.

🙋♀️ hi I have both and since I have had the Odeon I’m obsessed with it so easy to use and carefree. Pochette metis have also only used it twice and I find the lock too much of a Hassle and it’s actually one of my big regrets in my LV collection and I find I baby it on the both time i Have used it. Prefer zip closures for sure x

I wanted the Reverse Pochette Metis originally but got the Classic Mono. I loved it. It was my favorite bag. Best Crossbody i have ever tried on. Unfortunately i had to take mine recently because after 4 years mine started cracking in the corners. SA told me they might just replace or i can get a new bag but had to sent it to the repair specialist first. I am considering the Odeon MM.

I would pick the Odeon. You are right, I don’t reach for my pochette Métis at all anymore. The odean is just such an easy bag to use. I tried switching out a few times since receiving my odean and have stopped midway or switched right back. There is just something about the odean that I love. I have the Odeon MM in the noir.

I prefer the Odeon PM over the Pochette Métis, I mean, as much as I love the Métis and used to wear it all the time and have loved it for so long. The Odeon PM like you said is just easier to use on a day to day basis and I love that.
Agreed! The odeon is an easier bag to use and less issues than the metis
Both are great looking bags (with the Odeon being more on the casual side, which I like), but one of them has serious issues. I had to return two Pochette Metis and wouldn't get a third one. With the Odeon, you won't need to worry about the glazing coming off, or breaking canvas. Plus it's a super cute, super functional bag. You will wear it all the time.

I would pick the Pochette Metis as the opening of the Odeon PM is narrow and sometime hard to get your stuff out. :)

Odeon M M hands down! It’s the perfect everyday bag. Can add a handle and remove crossbody strap to dress it up a bit too.

I already have the PM in monogram since 2018. I've been eyeing another PM in empreinte or the Montsouris backpack in empreinte. But this bag came out of nowhere, and I'm kind of digging it, and might get it, and use my PM mono strap with it!
I want function this time around and like you said, PM doesn't even fit a water bottle and the accordion style makes it hard to store things.
Definitely the odeon is more functional and useful - it’s my everyday bag I love it

I am struggling to pick out my first LV bag, too. It is such a struggle because of the investment. I thought I’d never like the simple shape of the Odeon, but when i put it on, it hugs your body so perfectly. I’m between this and the Boite Chapeau Supple. The Boite Chapeau Supple is such a statement piece with the circle shape. I’m just not sure if it is as practical as the Odeon. Any opinions??? I have been debating for days. The struggle is too much!!!!

Yes odeon for me too., the metis front closure is kind of annoying on me It doesn’t bother me before but now that i have odeon it is😄 and odeon so cute with my neonoe empriente top handle strap so cute like small hobo style 😁

Pochette Metis are more masculine and serious I think..as for odeon are more feminine looking .. so I think I would go to Odeon 😁just my personal opinion 😅✌️
They just came out with the Odeon in Damier Ebene so I might get that as I already have the Métis in the classic monogram. I also have the Siena Pm so I could actually still go for the monogram anyway with the noir leather trim. So I’m not sure which version I want. I was suppose to get the Odeon a few months back but I got the bum bag instead. So I need to get the Odeon PM not sure what print yet. I agree, I have the Métis and don’t use it as much, but I have so many new bags so I can justify why I don’t reach for it 😂.

Great comparison! I have both of these amd love them both so much! I have had my black empreinte pochette metis for 3 years and still adore it! I got the Odeon pm with the black trim a few months ago amd I struggle to put it down because it’s so easy. Amd I love love monogram with black. The thing I dont like about the Odeon is that it’s like a black hole inside. I ordered a light pink organizer so I can see inside it. Everything else about it I love! The only thing I dont like about the pochette metis is the clasp. It’s a bit of a pain. And mine is a bit heavier because it is the leather. But I like the inside better than the Odeon. But please dont make me choose! I dont think I can! And because my pochette metis is not canvas it is a very different bag.

I would chose thé métis , and busy thé Odéon to and even switch the strap from the Odeon and waar it on my métis too
I just got the same Odeon PM and haven’t used my PM Reverse, just like you and for the same reasons you stated. I don’t want to sell the PM reverse though bc it elevates every outfit when the occasion or my dressed up mood calls for it. I am a casual dresser a lot of the time so I think I will be reaching for the Odeon more though!

The Odeon looks amazing with those outfits! Did you have the Odeon strap short on purpose while styling it with outfits? Or is that as long as it can go when you wore it crossbody? Just curious.

Love the bag so much that i also would buy it in the black leather. do you want to sell your pochette metis? unfortunately I have only been able to use the bag for six months and because of Covid not often.

I never thought I would, but I have to admit the Odeon bag wins, especially with the dresses. Looks very stylish with some 70ies vibes. Nevertheless I would never buy it for myself because I don‘t like the classic monogram print (anyone else but me??) 🙈

Yes good point. The PM definitely weighs more, the odeon seems lighter.
I have both and they are v different bags in my opinion. The Odeon is definitely a more casual bag. My mono Metis more sophisticated but definitely head turning. Depends on your lifestyle which one you’d grab more.

I'm considering the Odeon and was curious if anyone feels the "luggage tag" detail on the front is problematic? It looks like it sticks out a bit--is that true or can it lay more flat if secured differently (perhaps a different hole on the buckle?). Thx for your input!
Hey Lisa, to be fair I haven't found that it annoys me. Sometimes I'm conscious of it not getting caught but overall it's not been a problem.
