I have no room to talk about anyone, just know you have most women beat in clothing, bags, shoes and accessories. You are an amazing stylish woman.💕

WOW. I'm retired and I have to get rid of a lot of clothes. Its good you are chronicling all of your outfits. When you let them go you will have them documented and won't feel like you still need them. I had a hard time letting go of a lot of stuff. As a child we only had 2 coats and 3 pairs of shoes which translated to me buying so much as an adult. I am a good thrifter like you. I still find things with tags so it is great you are shopping your own closet.
Ruby, my upcoming retirement is one of the reason I need to have less because I will no longer be going into the office daily.
@rubylopez5941 I can totally relate to your childhood story because that was me and I remember as a child I promised myself that I would have all the clothes and shoes I wanted when I grew up and I do. My mom taught us that when you get paid you buy yourself something if it is nothing more than some drawers or socks. Lesson well learned.
Sharon, I so enjoy watching your videos. From one clothes, shoes and "all the things" lover to another, I understand it. My closet is a bedroom too. No judgement here and I hang everything too. If I don't see it, I don't wear it. Kudos to you for sticking to your no shopping plan. You look fabulous always.

@@erickajohnson2494 My mom once said the clothes are already on rolling racks so it easy to roll them out and put a sale sign on it 😊. She threatened to day that once, she was the funniest lady. But I will have to get rid off a lot in order to move. 😊

Hey girlfriend, you are my sister from another mother I love to shop and my problems I worked in retail I worked at Cawthon at work to Avenue plus size store. I have accumulated a lot of clothes but you put me to say so girlfriend I enjoyed this video I saw myself, and I understand because I am retired, but I am I am not a Thrifter but I am a really bargain shopper and I use my coupon and I enjoy putting my office together and I’m like you what’s your shoe closet girl is out of this world I wish you was a size 10 but I enjoyed this video. Honey Chile, You said a mouthful when you said you are not shopping in 2023!! I said the same thing,lol It's a difficult feat, but I am trying best not to make any purchases, well big ticket purchases,lol.
Let me tell you it’s very challenging, did great for first 5 months but my trip to Barcelona did me in. Check out that video, starting fresh from June to the end of the year.
Yes you are right. I swore that I would shop less and start making use of the clothes I already have because I DO have a massive wardrobe and although I make use of my wardrobe, they're still many items, especially with the shoes that I have not worn yet. The thing that got me buying though was the idea that because I purged so much late last year and throughout this year, I suddenly "had space." I had to wheel it in after my birthday month was over LOL.

I have color coded my clothes: red with reds, blue with blue, etc.
Yes, I used the shoe door rack for my belts. Yes, I used scarf racks for my scarfs.

I really appreciate your transparency! I struggle with embracing ALL my shoes and clothing- I have an extensive wardrobe, as well. Sometimes I feel guilty about it, thinking of the expense of my collection(s) and my, now, lack of space. Your video has helped me to be less judgmental of myself! I really enjoy seeing a woman who is confident about her collection and can identify that, “this is who I am and what I like!”, without apology.
I have struggled with taking a hiatus from shopping and would like to request you to film a video detailing the steps you took and take to not shop (prayer affirmation, not going into stores, etc.??)- 5 months is significant! Congratulations!
I am a boot woman! Lol! I think I likely have 300 pairs of footwear and have now decided that I’ll begin selling some of my footwear collection, since I keep hearing from size 11 & 12 women how challenging it is for them to find ,designer, footwear in their size.

When I was asked to do a tour I was reluctant because I did not want to be judged. But decided to do it for transparency. We do not need to ashamed of what we have because for me it’s part of my personality. I like nice things and I love to get dressed up and that’s ok. At the end of the year I will wrap up my journey and discuss lessons learned, and process. I started this channel so can be accountable, check out my very first video. Thanks for your support. 😃
Honestly, I think FEW people/women can relate to women like the hostess of the video and those of us with large/massive wardrobes because to them, only celebrities or rich people (should) have a massive wardrobe, NOT everyday women. I think at this stage in my life, I stopped caring. People already judged when I would go places being the office, or social gatherings, and were at family events/gatherings (family in-laws in particular). The perception was/is that I like to spend money on shoes and clothes implying that I was being financially irresponsible and vain. I stopped caring what they thought because I was just being me, having fun. I like fashion but I LOVE style even more and I was catering to my style. Plus, unbeknownst to them (though they will believe whatever it is they want to believe anyway), practically 90% of my wardrobe was/is thrifted. So it's not as though I broke the bank AND I had the privilege of wearing what was already in my closet versus "using all of my paycheck for shoes and clothes" per my co-workers... and yes based on how I dressed for work, I had inquiries about the size of my closet, and how many pairs of shoes I had, of which I always responded with a smile "it's a secret,/oh it's a lot." or asked where I shopped which I'd always say "Any and everywhere including on-line," or "How does your husband feel/What does your husband say about the amount of shoes/clothes you have?" Or somehow I could be some sort of a spoiled wife. I could go on because women really scrutinized. Yes... all because I didn't blend in with everyone.
Anyhow, on a side note, I completely understand your position in being shoe size 11/12. I'm a shoe size 10 and it can be difficult purchasing beautiful shoes in that size before it quickly sales out because shops order a limited number of size 10 pairs, how much more purchasing or trying to find and purchase shoe size 11/12, IF the store even sale size 11/12? So... being that I LOVE SHOES which is my favorite part of my entire wardrobe (yes I have hundreds of pairs too 😄), whenever I see a fair priced, beautiful style of shoes and a size 10 is available, I don't even wait for the sale... and I'll purchase it in all or multiple colors available ☺️.

Sharon , thank you for sharing your closets with us. I certainly understand your rationale for not shopping. I cannot judge. Like you, I turned a bedroom into a closet when my sons moved out. I have four closets full. That said, You have me beat 🙂. Just know that you have inspired me to curtail my shopping and I appreciate it lol. Take good care.

Wow I am impressed!! I thought I had a lot of clothes, you have me beat too. You don't need to shop for the rest of your life 😂. So many beautiful things! I feel I must speak for the furs and say "We cannot be smushed." I have three and a friend told me a long time ago that they need to be separated so they can breathe (even though they are not a living thing). Hopefully you have an alarm system at your place. Other than that, you are very organized and deserve all the things that make you happy. ❤

Thank you for sharing your closets. I too am a maximalist and I have such the love of clothes, shoes, purses and things that keep me looking pretty. I don’t have the strength to take anyone down my journey of clothes & things primarily for fear of judgement. You are very courageous 😊
I tell people I am who I am and should only be judged by God. We all have something, no one is perfect and if ours is clothes, shoes, purses etc then so be it. 😊

I. AM. LOVING. IT! 😃 YES MA'AM. I see me in you. Oh what fun it is to have a personal boutique. I also have a massive wardrobe and use a spare room as MY MAIN closet being that I also have multiple closets. As nice as the IKEA Pax system is, considering the amount of clothing and shoes I have, it's also not feasible for me. I use garment racks in my main closet for my clothes as well and use bookcases along the wall for shoes and handbags. I have certainly made use of the closet IN the closet for my evening wear, including shoes and bags. I also happen to have a TV in my closet as well where I am watching this very UA-cam video 😄. I took over the walk-in closet in the guest bedroom and the coat closet on the main floor for my fall/winter items and have a small built-in closet in the basement for "extra"/storage and recently hijacked the laundry room closet, lol. Yeah... I know I don't need to shop for the rest of this year (or life) either, lol. On a side note I CAN'T WAIT to see your handbags and accessories section. Thank you VERY MUCH for sharing your beautiful, wonderfully organized massive wardrobe from one kindred spirit to another ☺️😄.

You were able to capture a lot and you have things very organized I understand now your reasons for not shopping, I also think scaling down will help you a lot as we sometimes can get drown with a lot of stuff. YES... I GET IT with "...not shopping in 2023" from late last year and throughout this year, I have purged out A LOT of items... clothes, shoes, AND accessories and I am making the effort to wear items I haven't worn yet... I shop my closet more. Believe me when I say my wardrobe is a lifetime of items (say from my 20s up to now at 47 😊) so there ARE items that I could wear for the first time and it was purchased anywhere from a weekend (for example) to 20 years ago. I just thank heavens that I can still fit the clothes 😄.
That the key to still be able to fit the clothes, I had to get rid of quite a few because some how my hips spread a little 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh yes the fastest way that I accumulated my wardrobe since my early adulthood was by thrift shopping because I LOVE VINTAGE and dated/classic looks. But I also was a sales associate at one of the most popular department stores in the big city at that time so there were also associate discounts.... and then you have the discount stores like TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Burlington...and then the rise of on-line shopping.
Thrifting is addictive but we’re doing our part to recycle 😊.
@@agelessrestyling Yes, and years back in my 20's (now 47)when I began thrifting, THE PRICES and merchandise were a lot different (better) AND compared to nowadays, they use to do plenty of "Everything's half off" sales on holidays so...imagine.

No judgment here, I have just as much. I totally understand because I am a thrifter as well. My only hope is that I could be as well organized as you. I am retiring this year from wearing a uniform, with the hopes of starting a new career wearing my clothes that are just hanging around. I enjoyed TFS!
