bit of context for the airplane meme at 5:35, the wife insisted on going to buy coffee at a store on the other side of the airport so they would miss their flight. she was trying to make the husband miss his chance to meet his daughter (wife's step-daughter) who was studying in another state.
5:35 - If I remember the story right, the wife had it out for her husband’s daughter and did everything to either not be there for her milestones or undermine the poor girl when she was there. This was the latest in a series of slights, so the husband hit his breaking point and finally put his foot down.

One of my favorite memories from my time in the army was when I was D.D. for my 4 other friends one night. Driving his convertible Mustang on I-70 and into the local college town with the top down and absolutely BLASTING "it's raining men" with a car of guys while looking for a parking spot. The laughs and cheers we got were truly something to behold and take in.

Funny, when I used to head out with the boys in high school, in my backpack were topical benzocaine (Orajel), paracetamol (Tylenol), ibuprofen (Advil), water, a fully-stocked pencil case with an engineering calculator and graphing calculator and like 12 lead pencils, 8 pens and 5 black Sharpies, all of my textbooks and binders and class notes, battery pack, charging cables, and lots of tissues, plus even antihistamine and decongestant tablets in case of allergy. Oh, and like 3 Epipens and a box of bandaids, plus hydrogen peroxide and q-tips. I was fully stocked.

As someone in healthcare, if you're the type of person who can benefit from therapy and make meaningful change in your life.. you probably didn't need it or only need a session or two. Compared to the number of people who go, never do any of the hard work to change themselves or perform some kind of introspection. Its staggering how many fall into Camp 2. Save the money and time; go get a hobby and enjoy your life. Be a knight
So I've had that conversation with coworkers and regular customers about post apocalypse scenarios, and while they all have survival plans and pre built sanctuaries. They will be warlords in those scenarios, however they have all agreed in unison while staring at me that a cult would spawn around me and I'd come to one of them trying to get out of my own bullshit I allowed to get out of control for a laugh.
Now they dont think I'll start the cult, they think enough stupid people will follow and believe me to cause the birth of a cult. And rather than stopping it before it can get worse, I'll lahe a laugh and say "how fucked up can this get" then seek help later admitting my own fuck up.
Fun fact about Slenderman. In marble hornest, the oldest variation of canon with him (besides the original picture) he was called The Operator, and then people decided to call him slenderman. Honestly I far prefer "The Operator" but thats just me.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower always makes me cry because I can feel for Charlie so much. I went through something similar to some of the things his character did when I was 3, so I cried at the movie and book.

the delicious irony of that alpha male tweet is that while I don't go out like... EVER (Minimal friends, difficulty scheduling, etc) I DO bring all that stuff when I go out. Granted I mostly bring it for myself, but I do bring enough to share to others if they do need it.
I didn't even know it was "alpha male behavior" or anything, I just prefer to be prepared.
As for movies that made me cry... SW 3: Revenge of the Sith. I've had a rare few nightmares and phobias from disaster movies, but nothing brought me to tears like the emotional sledgehammer that was Order 66. The music, scenes, and being a big SW Fanboy meant I understood the depth of betrayal and destruction I was witnessing.
I didn't sleep that night, or the night after. Just thinking about it hurts even now.
Remembering that and my reaction, I legitimately hesitate to look too deeply into IRL tragedies. Better to escape into apathy and numbness then be broken by my own empathy. I never thought of it as a curse before.
After that movie, I thought differently.
