  • I started my UA-cam channel as a way help anglers catch more fish and enjoy their time on the water. There were a lot of UA-cam fishing channels that showed people catching fish, but not that many catfishing channels with detail information on catfish gear, rigs, rods and tactics for catching catfish. Since then my fishing channel on UA-cam has done great, I finally got silver play button, and I am looking down the road to focus on what come next with my channel. There is also some insight into what it takes to have and maintain a UA-cam channel, many of which people do not know or understand unless they've started a fishing channel on UA-cam. UA-cam fishing channels, especially catfishing channels on UA-cam, are abundant and standing out on UA-cam can be tough. Catfish fishing channels on UA-cam are great, but my hope is to diversify my content moving forward.

Dieter, my brother and I have used your channel as a resource for our catfishing. We followed you as you put up each of your videos. Then while we fished we
would talk about them, what we learned, etc. I lost him back in December. Now I have a new connection to you and your channel. I can feel his presence or whatever one would call it, when I watch your videos. Don't know about my fishing, but I'll be here.

I understand, I just want you to know how much you helped folks like me learn different style of catfishing and different baits and techniques. I was all ways a bank fishing nightcrawler type of guy and done well but you opened my eyes to the MORE ENJOYABLE type of fishing. I'm a bass fisherman at heart but there is no relaxation running banks fishing every little stick or clump of grass. No time for laying back eating a snack and being able to drink your Pepsi before it gets hot. You have been a great inspiration and hope to meet you on the lake someday. Thanks Dieter !

Once I felt their power I’ve loved it ever since. I once laughed at my friend at the suggestion of fishing for catfish when I could be fishing for bass. Congrats on the 100k , well deserved, You Put Time and EFFORT into each video to make it as informative, enjoyable, and inspirational, meaning You make people want to get on the water and getter done which to me is one of the key things about UA-cam, does it make people want to get out there themselves if so you've achieved "capturing your audience" , for me it's not about the biggest or most fish , it's the enjoyment,
A Well done UA-cam video kinda takes you along on the trip ,on bad weather days or times that we can't get out we still can enjoy a fishing trip , you've accomplished that ability, there's many many people who just physically can't do it for whatever reason be it age or injury or whatever, they can still enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, whatever part of God's Gift of the Great Outdoors They Enjoy thru Your videos and those like you that film, with that said , congrats again, the Effort into the videos shows and It's appreciated, God Bless And Tight Lines to ya Dieter

Now i love to fish but have stopped going, it is so unsettleing to think i cant launch my boat, retreive my boat in a crowd, even throw a cast net for bait without holding on or tieing a rope on so i wont fall overboard. The golden years arent so golden. Show me how to be comfortable in doing the thing i love. PS, im a loner so dont say get a buddy, all my buddies are dead or cripples. I just got bad knees whick leads to balance problems. I think there a re many who have this same problem. By the way, i've learned a few things watching your channel, it is entertaining. I watch a wide range of UA-cam videos and have since 2010 when I cut the cable on traditional cable providers and hooked a computer to my living room TV a few years before the smart TV came out. Since that time I've acquired hundreds and hundreds of channels I'm subscribed to. I say all that to say that when one of your videos pop up I never scroll past watching it. Reason is because you have never been negative on your channel. That's important to me. The professionalism and consistency of your content just makes me happy to click every single video that pops up. So many other creators at some point in time will put out a video of them literally letting their emotions and negativity shine through and just complain and complain. That's never productive in my opinion and certainlynot enjoyable for me to watch. Keep doing what you do Dieter and I'll be a active subscriber for life. 🤘😎

Hey bud, Your channel works because it is fun and fun to watch. Granted me and Striper man see you on Wylie all the time and that makes it more fun. You have always been cool to me when I have stopped and said hello. So if you post non fishing stuff I am in. Grayson killing yellow jackets was a great post. Same with the cooking fish at the rental house in Fl Stop by the CYC if you see a white Dodge Dakota in the parking lot. We always have coffee food and a stiff drink if you need one

I have a relatively new fishing channel that I'm trying to grow I'm only at 31 subscribers.
But given the fact that I only have 9 videos so far that's not a bad video to subscriber ratio at all honestly.

I have a newly rebuilt and stocked (by the Conservation Dept) and open to fishing just last year. Four Fish limit per day allowed. And ONLY catfish are allowed to be kept. Its just now FEB. Is that too early to go and expect a bite... The pond is about Five Ac. big...

We watch a lot of channels for catfishing. I notice the number of subscribers a person has too. The most enjoyable one has 10 million subscribers, a couple more have a million subscribers. You and that other guy 'Complaining Dave' seem to be stuck around 100,000. I know why he is, his show is the same every week. He thinks its all about catching huge catfish, its not. We like watching catching eater size fish. His shows are all Exactly the same, nothing changes. If you've watched a couple of his shows then you've watched them all. Now the guy that holds the Tennessee state record catfish is making catfish videos, His are all exactly the same thing too, you get bored after a couple of them. . Videos need to be entertaining, enjoyable and educational. Go back and watch the Catfish & Carp videos when he first started and you'll see how he got up to 10 million. Not the videos he's making today but when he first started out.

While I don't know of a "channel for catfishing" that has 10 million subscribers, Catfish & Carp is the only one that I know of that has exceeded one million subscribers. I seriously doubt my current content style will hit that mark. It is different for everyone in what works. Personality plays a part. We will all rise to the level of our incompetence, and I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just a fact of life. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me!!

@@DieterMelhorn Your show is entertaining, you don't just do the same thing every week. and lakeforkguy has a lot of catfishing vidoes, he is over a million subscribers, but he fishes for other fish too. . The most enjoyable and educational one is Richard gene the fishing machine but he says he is no longer making catfish videos because catfish are too easy to catch.
