OM-1 | Landscape photography - Does it deliver?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 бер 2024
- Hello!!! 😀 Went to some cliffs near my house yesterday to try some Landscape / Seascape photography. People might think that a Micro four thirds camera is not best suited for this kind of photography but I personally really enjoy this genre of photography with my OM-1. The computational features it has makes it so fun! Hopefully you like the video and please leave a comment!! 🙏

It does work but it has a lot more to do with the guy before it :-). Super works as always mate. Cheers...
Thanks so much. That’s very kind of you🙏👍😀
Hi everyone. Hope you enjoy this new video. Please say hi in the comments. Bye🙏🏼🙏🏻🙏
Well done. Your photos of the waves has capture the power and motion and power of them. Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
Thank you very much David🙏
As always, I wasn`t disappointed. Beautiful photos.
Thanks so much Richard. Always appreciate your support👍😃🙏
Fabulous results Richard , I’ll defo be having a go when next at the coast or a waterfall.👍
Thanks Laurence🙏🙏🙏
Your wave shots were good. Am 90% sure I will go M 4/3 for birding as my Nikon kit just too heavy for old bones.
Thanks so much. Appreciate it. Good luck with your decision👍
Hi Richard - great photos, I like the waves swirling over the rocks - did you use the LiveND 64? I also like the starburst - I'm thinking with a long exposure timing of the light is not such a problem.
Yes I did use the LiveND 64 which for me is almost always enough. Some off the shots were just regular settings because it was getting dark. Yes I did some shots at 6 ,8 or even 30 seconds and yes I don't have to time it just right to get the lighthouse light facing me.
Hi Richard, nice long exposure shots. Keep up good work.
Hi Les. Thanks so much. Hope you are well👍🙏😀
Hi there, Richard! Love those crashing waves. My favorite computational feature on my EM-1 Mark II is the live composite. I'm hoping I can get a safe enough spot for some lightning land/cityscape photos. Cheers!
Hi Blaine. Yes that would be great. I don't use the LC enough. Note to self..use it more!
I've been using Olympus for years just made a video about profiling the camera sensor and editing in Lightroom . Your wave shots at the end were very interesting
Thank you. When I get a minute I will head over and have a look🙏😃👍
Great Location and great images Richard as ever. I'm glad you didn't chase the windshield over the cliff which I had visions of when watching
Haha...knowing me that could have easily happened. I've been up there photographing when a typhoon is approaching and it is really precarious!! Take care

Nice video Richard. Is that the 40-150 F4 ? You say its a budget lens ? What aperature were you using to get the starburst ?
Hi Roger. It's a 40-150mm F4-5.6 R I believe. Very plasticky. The starbursts were either F11 or F13. The shot with the lighthouse and starbursts I think were taken with the 12-40mm Pro. Thanks
Hi, nice pictures!
Thank you🙏😀
Hi Richard.. I have just bought an MacBook and the OM-1 but I have trouble with the .orf RAW files to import. Apple photos do not “ see” them. Do you always need OM Workspace to import them on your computer. I have also problems with DXOPure raw because of this. Do you have a solution? Regards Ron
Hi Ron. Are you on the latest update / software on your computer. I just use adobe bridge and my computer sees the files fine. Also I have dxo pure raw 2 and it works flawlessly. I think everything should work fine for you..sorry you are having problems. Let us know how you get on
Hi Richard. I’m an avid follower of yours and love your work and style. I use the same kit as you and am thinking of buying an apple laptop. I know you recently upgraded. Any chance that you could let me know the specifications of your new kit as I am not sure what I should buy for post processing. As you seem to have nailed it I thought I would ask. Many thanks in advance..
Thanks so much David. Thoroughly appreciated. From memory ( I’ll double check the specs when I get home tonight) I got the 14inch M3 chip MacBook Pro. I paid extra to get 32 gbs of Ram instead of the usual 16gbs but didn’t extend the ssd so have the standard 500 gb ssd. I will let you know if this is wrong. 🙏👍😀
@@RichardCookphotographythanks Richard really appreciate you taking the time and trouble. I’ll check it out.
@@davidguy6823 oh and to add I got the Dell 27 inch 4k 2723qx monitor which is regularly reduced on Amazon, to give me a larger screen to work with. So so happy with them both. I have changed the thumbnail of the video I did about it before because my ugly mug was stopping people from watching it!😀
Thanks again Richard that info is really helpful.
Hello! How your om-1 works with 300 f4 pro ? Is stabilization always work perfectly and picture always rock steady when you half press shutter ?
Hello. Yes I think so. The IS is very good🙏👍
@@RichardCookphotography what type of af mode and shutter you use ? If you try and use single shot shutter mechanical or silent is your image moves each time after one picture? I mean stabilization move sensor after each single picture. And another question - does stabilization depends on focusing on object ? I mean it looks like if there is a lot of small branches and bird in them stabilization become much more shaky? Do you have same results ?. I ask because i have om-1 and 300 f4 pro and don't understand if my sync is works correctly. Sometimes i have great stabilization, sometimes image are shaking
@@UnluckyNewbie I don’t usually use single shot mechanical. I am usually in C-AF and a larger AF area🙏
@@RichardCookphotography if you can try this test - please do it with your 300 f4. Single shot silent or mechanical, is on. Thank you!
