Areosmith killed it, they dod a great job, it wasnt just a tribute, it became a celebration and a block party JMJ would have dj in. Best ending. RIP MY BROTHER.
When Queen Latifah entered this tribute first tears came. I started to remember when Hip Hop came to Sweden. When Aerosmith and Steven Tyler showed up i was crying like a baby. So why does a 48 old man cry cause of music?I got emotions and empathy. Back in the 80's Hip Hopers and Hardrockers was deadly enemies. Fights allover the place. What Jam Master Jay did was uniting hardrock with hip hop. What Run DMC and JMJ did was making hip hop become known by regular people that does not even like Hip Hop, and they started to like Run DMC. Yes us hip hopers found others before Run DMC. But Run DMC made hip hop go world wide and known to regular music lovers, even some hardrockers. Even people that listens to other music genres started to like them. Jam Master Jay along with Russell Simmons (Run's/Rev Run's uncle and Hip Hop producer) is huge when it comes to uniting hip hop with rest of the world even those outside of the Hip Hop culture. Offcourse MTV is part of that. That is why i mentioned Queen Latifah first, cause she was the first woman rapper i liked back then, but i did not know about Roxanne Shante back then. Who would probably have been the first if i did find her. Even later than that i found real old school rapping ladies from 70's cause of internet. But no one in Sweden knew about hip hop in the 70's. First hip hopers was in the culture in 80 or 81 but when it really became a culture was in 1983 cause ot the graffiti documentary Style Wars, and the culture exploded when Yo! MTV Raps entered Sweden shortly after in mid 80's. Offcourse it helped that those back in 1980 that was into hip hop also was into graffiti in 1980 and very known in Stockholm also cause of their artistic skills as artists. Also the one that is son of Quincy Jones (Quincy Jones III) , was into graffiti, but more into music back then, and he moved to US in the 80's and later produced music for LL Cool J and 2pac and many more. Quincy Jones III is Swedish pioneer in Hip Hop. Thank you Jam Master Jay and Run and DMC for what you 3 did for my life. I miss you JMJ. Rest in peace.
We will never get this celebration again like that. I can’t believe after 15 years it still hurts to this day. I hope that one day before we all die the hip hop nation will get closure
Hell Yeah rap shows like this use to be so tight back in the day i just can't stand how it is now This made me smile but sad at the same time Miss Jam Master Jay
Journey of the Blessed Go to a Logic show man. I promise the dude always does his best to pay homage to the roots of the genre. It’s a fun time as well, and nobody getting shot when it’s PLP.
I was 16 going on 17 when he died & to this day I'm still shocked that he died on Halloween that was a real shock for everyone in the music world. His spirit lives on thru his music
RUN DMC gets so much respect i've actually heard some kids says "cool, Aerosmith covered a RUN DMC song" lol, too funny, actually the other way around, but respect nonetheless!
Faaaaaaaaaack that was a good performance, those cats never fail to entertain. Takes me back, I mean back, "87" Run DMC and JMJ, and The Beastie Boys. Together Forever Tour. Sacramento Calif. There was lots of talk about the violence that Will probably take place because of of mixing all those whites together with all those blacks. Let me tell ya when DMC flew in on a helicopter walked out onstage and JMJ dropped that first bass drum kick, starting the show till The Beasties walked off stage
It’s just beautiful how Run DMC brought hip hop to all corners of the world and to all races colours and creeds. I’m a fat 41 year old Yorkshireman (English) and i fucking love this
The tribute was a really good show but it was bitter sweet because jmj everyone loved him but i wish he was there in the flesh his life mattered but this show was a really good show
One of them could have been avoided had Lopes not been joyriding through Honduras in a Mitsubishi Montero Sport, which was being rented at the time. What's worse is that she didn't have her seat belt on when swerving off the road to avoid an oncoming vehicle.
Was it? You can't act like reckless driving isn't as deadly as drunk driving. She was involved in an incident two weeks prior to her actual death where the driver of the car she rode in hit a 10 year old boy head on, and killed him instantly. That event alone should have been a warning for her to be more safe with her own driving. Former NFL legend Derrick Thomas might also still be alive today had he been wearing a seat belt during his collision with another driver. The incident not only tore his leg up bad enough to end his career, but following surgery, a massive blood clot traveled from his leg all the way up to his heart, resulting in a fatal heart attack. My brother once got struck by an oncoming vehicle when entering an intersection with his light being red because the brakes on his car gave out on him. He was not wearing a seat belt, so when the other driver hit the driver's side of his car, it caused the door to fling open and throw him out on the street, where he rolled two or three times before stopping. While he survived, he had to have the entire left side of his nose surgically reattached as a result of the aftermath. Moral of the story: Wearing a seat belt lowers the risk of deadly consequences following a wreck. It's not about speaking ill of the dead, it's about using both safety and common sense.
I would say he was enjoying rocking the mic for the era he came up on that 80s/early 90s. As kids we all did imitate our [favorite] MCs, imagine being able to perform for/pay tribute to 'em, pretty dope.
Areosmith killed it, they dod a great job, it wasnt just a tribute, it became a celebration and a block party JMJ would have dj in. Best ending. RIP MY BROTHER.

Your comment was so unnecessary. Smh !
