I mean McCoy hasn't been the Executive ADA since the end of Season 17--while coming in at the beginning of Season 5--and since then, we had Cutter for three seasons in that role and now Price in that role for two going on three seasons (eventually a fourth, unless that changes). While I didn't expect him to leave before the show ended, I knew I shouldn't be surprised if he does though. There were also three DAs before he took the role too, so it makes sense that there be one after him too.

Did Cutter's ploy against Shalvoy ever became public or just between him and Jack? Getting in a disagreement with the mayor is one thing but feuding with the governor and winning should"ve made Jack (and Mike) an absolute legend
Tbf, not exactly the kind of thing they’d WANT made public. You don’t exactly last long in that line of work if you go about bragging about outwitting the mayor and governor.
It's tough when an actor/actress steps into an established series and replaces someone who is popular with audiences and was there for long period of time. After all, you don't want to be the unsuccessful replacement who tanks a hit show. Next to the late Jerry Orbach, Sam Waterson is probably the face that most people associate with "L&O". It's a daunting task to take over from someone who was there for 30 years. Tony Goldwyn is a solid actor whose been around a while. He's off to a good start and no doubt given time, he'll do just fine.
@@seanmaher3518 No one can ever replace Jack McCoy. In the entire Law & Order franchise, Olivia Benson is the GOAT in the LAW side of the franchise while Jack McCoy is the GOAT in the ORDER of the franchise.

This is going to be interesting as both Price and Baxter are essentially young contemparies, and that dynamic has not existed between the DA and ADA before
Yeah, I know Tony Goldwyn is 63 and I guess Hugh Dancy is about in his early 50s. But we've seen this before with Waterston and Diane Wiest about 9 years apart, and Waterston and Fred Thompson were about a year or two apart.

This Baxter character... don't what to make of him quite yet. He seems much more interested in politics than justice than any of the previous L & O District Attorneys have been.
Baxter is going to have a long way to go before I like anything much about him. Man One-10 years, and that’s OK with him. And giving orders at a crime scene isn’t the DA’s job.
