    another GREAT video guys! i started with ATs too, and then switched to urethane and im absolutely IN LOVE.. love all the different options and the agility and aggressiveness your wheels have to offer.. if anyone is contemplating on getting an evolve, and dont know if its worth the money, contact me and ill be more than happy to explain why/how they are 100% worth it. i also own many different esk8 boards, so i have the comparison experience

    If you want an awesome sliding experience, try 7” AT’s on hard beach sand. It is so much fun 👌

      opposite. takes away agility..takes away power.. so soft it doesnt take rough streets well at all and breaks traction with a decently hard carve.. u use a 97mm 90mm or 85, u can have top agility, power, and if its a good wheel like caguama, boa, and evolve, u can break traction and still hold the carve because its predictable.. 110s are not..

    Riding on the smooth road with 107mm + 32T gives me the feeling of spreading the butter 🧈 while carving. Sometimes AT and sometimes Street wheels just like changing your dress code 😂… both AT & street wheels always give me 200% satisfaction!

    I started on an original gt and moved to the gtr after I was hit and totaled the last board... I almost never use my al terrain wheels on either board, street is the way to go for sure. With the speed and acceleration, it's so much better also it can make a huge difference with range. It's also a little scary so u gotta get used to it... but it's totally worth trying!!!!

    Great video. I have about 8 months of riding (250 miles per month) on my 107s. Most riding is fast on very smooth asphalt. 6 months in I started seeing some minor "chunking" on the back wheels so I rotated them to the front. Grip seems fine but I am keeping any eye on the wear. Do you have any guidance on when chunking is a cause for wheel replacement? Thanks!

    • @evolveSkateboards
      @evolveSkateboards  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Tom, You can get away with quite a lot of chunking all around the edges before a wheel needs to be replaced. Keep an eye on cracks forming deeper in the urethane so you don't have any large blowouts.

    One thing about street wheels you guys dont mention ( i think) is zero maintenance. Street wheels need no care at all, they just keep going. VERY reliable .
    I occasionally commute on my MTB and I get flat tyres all the time (once a week ) and I run tubeless tyres too .
    How often do the AT wheels get flatties ?

    • @electricdeckhead3083
      @electricdeckhead3083 3 роки тому

      I live in outback Australia, I used to get flats all the time on my Mountain bike, until I changed to tubeless, maybe you need a better quality sealant, that said I started on street wheels on my board, went to AT wheels and haven't looked back, never had a flat and I don't care what I ride through. it was a worry of mine too, but so far no flats. and I am due to replace the rear tyres due to wear.

    I just purchased the 107 for my GTX, if I feel like I want a smaller wheel can I buy just the wheels themselves or do I need another full conversion kit and fork out the coin?

    • @jameskemp1963

      Looking at my Evovle 97mm wheels and it looks like the same Abec gear pattern, so I would think you could just order another set of wheels and install them.
      Although, on my old Loaded Vanguard I have the Orange Orangatang Caguamas and they have a completely different gear cog setup. But even so, I believe you should be able to order just the Orangatang gear cog and install it, if you wanted Orangatang wheels. Same size and teeth count I believe. So you shouldn’t need different belts.

    Guys whats up with the flimsy Bamboo GTR deck? Are they not meant for a street ride, aka going over curbs here and there? Broke my board in half, might have died.

    • @evolveSkateboards
      @evolveSkateboards  3 роки тому

      The decks are 3ply Bamboo 2ply fibreglass and are super strong in comparison to a standard longboard deck. Check in with you local service team as riding street shouldn't cause any problems.

    Why no rubber wheels in smaller diameter (90mm and under?)

    • @evolveSkateboards
      @evolveSkateboards  2 роки тому +1

      Rubber wear faster than urethane so durability won't be great, also without them being pneumatic, you lose a lot of the benefits.

      Only if you ride very aggressively. After one or two set of wheels you learn to preserve them over 100's of km. Some people lose huge chunks of their wheels in the first ride it's due to lack of experience.

  • @vacantblock

    40% more range seems a bit steep. I'm getting similar range with my underinflated AT wheels as the 97mm urethane riders.

    • @evolveSkateboards
      @evolveSkateboards  3 роки тому +3

      Perhaps check your belt tensions on street, and ensure your wheel/gear settings are updated. The difference between street and underinflated AT is HUGE.

    Your "32 tooth sprocket" is actually 33 tooth!
    At least the ones on my Evolve board are definitely 33 tooth.
    Please check this out, it's dumb to NOT COUNT the teeth on your own product!
    (Otherwise I love my Evolve board)

    • @evolveSkateboards
      @evolveSkateboards  3 роки тому +1

      There was a handful of 33T's out there, but they are all 32 now!

    • @wizrom3046
      @wizrom3046 3 роки тому

      @@evolveSkateboards Thanks for the reply! That's the first official word I have seen on that issue. 👍
      Everyone should count their pulley teeth to make sure, because if it's a 33 it makes the speedo read about 3% faster than actual speed (like my board with the 107 street wheels).

    150mm+ rubber tires are superior compared to PU tires.. only good at PUs are better acceleration because of small wheel and less battery drain.
